Sourcing ingredients for western food would be something I'd be interested in learning more about. The cost of good wheat and proper tomatoes as well as dairy in general makes what would be cheap to make elsewhere quite a bit more expensive!

The wheat and tomatoes are better here. I grew some wheat last season and make my own pizza and calzone sauce. Dairy is more expensive but good quality. Why do you think the tomatoes or wheat would be worse? Good soil and good water grow good food and Japan has this.

@@RealRuralJapan not worse but more expensive to source, extremely niche wheat varietals like Einkorn/Kamut I'd imagine would be quite hard to come by. Growing your own definitely would be the way to do it. That's why I was interested in learning more in general about what could be sourced and what should be grown yourself!

What’s makes you think they want this variety? Trying to open a market for something is not how I would approach it that’s why I suggest to follow a trend not invent one.

@@RealRuralJapan you were talking of introducing western to-go items, I do realize whole grain or mixed grain breads have low demand but the market seems to be indeed growing, plus kamut makes great salads!

They haven't listed it for sale so i don't know. The best Akiya house opportunities are rarely listed either that is why it is best to get on the ground when house hunting here and getting to know people in the area you wish to live. People who house hunt on their computers miss all the good opportunities in Japan and some even call themselves experts.
