Unfortunately, the USA is more concerned that the president is born in the USA rather than being a law-abiding citizen. I am Australian and we have integrity laws for politicians and judges. Under these laws, no one who has been convicted of any crime can become a politician or work for any government agency. Donald Trump has an extensive criminal history and has been convicted multiple times for falsifying company documents, lying under oath in a court of law, embezzlement and fraud dating back over his entire working life. Because the American legal system protects people like Donald Trump, people like him will continue to get away with crimes that the general public would get jailed for. The fact that he has not been jailed for stealing top secret documents shows just how incompetent the American government and legal systems truly are. In Australia, he would have been jailed awaiting trial and the trial would be extradited as top priority.
