This is me playing Donkey Kong Country 2 for the Super Nintendo. This is the fight that you can play once you've beaten all the levels and bosses, and gotten all 47 bonus coins, and have beaten all the Lost World levels. King K. Rool attempts one last chance for revenge. This video shows the fight and what happens afterwards.

King K. Rool is hardcore. He gets blown up 9 times, punched off the top of an island, bounces all the way down, is attacked by sharks, THEN clambers all the way back up the island, gets blown up again, falls into the island's energy core causing IT to blow up and the whole island to sink, yet STILL gets away on a raft (and laughs it all off). What a badass.

No he IS the same person. King K.rool went insane over the course of the game because he lost his people and home because of his greed.

Yeah if you look into the game lore, DKC1 K.rool sent his minions to mine DK isle for resources. He instructed them to capture Diddy but not kill him, and take the golden bananas to keep DK busy while they mined the island. that;s why there's a factory and toxic wastes on the island and as you progress in the game K.Rool approaches the island to find out what is going on only to be defeaated by DK. In DKC2 he captures DK and takes him back to crocodile island to have him beaten and humiliated in front of the kremlings to show he is better than DK, but the kremlings disliked K.Rool because their home was in need of being fixed and them being stopped in DKC1 caused the minions to stop building on the island and plamed K.Rool and in the end they lose their home island which results K.Rool to go insane in DKC3.

That true final ending is dark. Just watching the isle crumble and sink and hearing K.Rool cackle as he sails away gave me the creeps. And seeing DK and the duo look on into the distance knowing they've only bought some time to prepare for the next encounter...

@Irrum Hafiz In the GBA remaster though, as K. Rool is escaping, Funky appears in his Gyrocopter and drops a bomb onto his ship, completely blowing it up.

A shame that show had to end as it did, I did an accidental Seinfeld reference once when I was snacking on some pretzels, I got so thirsty and was hiccuping as a result, I ended up saying " Oh man, these pretzels are making me thirsty" (and Dehydrated)

Back when games used to be hard.. I remember going crazy as a kid watching my dad FINALLY beat this boss after several days. I was so excited my dad could do this. :p

Just beating him the first time before the lost world is enough for me. IMO the hardest donkey kong of the original three. Thank goodness for RU-vid because I would never in a million years have the skill to find all that stuff and then survive the barrage of shots. The people who made some of those levels were sadists. Respect ✊🏿

Man, the first time I get there, I lost I dunno how maany times. I was 12, but when I finally achieved it I screamed due to happines. One of the best game of my childhood

Same. His stuff is harder to dodge, but the fight doesn't go on as long and he only has 1 hp. Part of the challenge was to try to get the canon ball to hit him without getting sucked up. Only having to do it once didn't make that part of it that hard.

kids born in 90 and 2000 missed those amazing games, games these days focusing only on graphics and losing the enjoyment of playing these, i showed this game to my nephew, he just shout at me and said, this game sucks i want to play on my Wii....lol it pained my heart, cus i spend days and night playing this game until i finished it...i enjoyed it at that time when i was a kid and enjoy it as a father now ;")

I really only liked fighting K. Rool in DKC2, because in the other ones he was easy. I love how he gets attacked by sharks, but manages to survive. I feel like he probably started beating the crap out of them shouting, "Don't start what you can't finish!"

Getting to this level is harder than the boss itself. Seriously finding all the DK Coins and getting all the Kremcoins is a huge challenge. I'm proud to be one of the few who did it without save states (Had no PC or Game Guides at the time, just the games my mother.father bought me).

I would love to see 6 donkey kong characters in Sma5h, and the characters are: Dixie & Diddy (A thing kinda like the Ice Climbers) King K.Rool Lanky Kong (I'TS FRICKIN LANKY FOR GOD'S SAKE) Kiddy Kong (What? Ness and Lucas are in smash, and they're children!) and OF COURSE... Donkey Kong.

I remember doing this fight as a kid. What makes it so great is that you only need that one shot to beat it but getting that one shot isn't easy. Gotta dodge all those spiked balls and purple blobs first. Amazing!

WOW! Donkey Kong Coutry 2 is my favorite of the series... I would never think about this alternative ending... I used to beat k.Rool but I would never imagine that! I forgot collect all of the DK coins and Kreenkicoins thanks for the vid!

To think i completed this game 100% when i was only like- 6-7 years old way back before tutorials or anything existed lol i remember how happy I was when i finally beat the game, this brought hack some deep memories

Even by today's standards, the SNES's graphics still hold up as being incredible. 16-bit graphics have a charm to it that will never be matched.

@Axel181 That's when games were golden, when you couldn't look up where crap was. I learned my encyclopedic knowledge of this game the good old fashioned way, but finding everything! I have memorized every Kremkoin and Big DK (my name for the DK Coins) location in the game. The last bonus room at the end of Rambi Rumble in Krazy Kremland, though, sometimes escapes me, though. :/

I had never finished this completely, but I did almost beat DKC3 in my first year. I could not for the life of me find that last coin for the final vehicle upgrade, and had given up completely. Come 15 years later when I come across my collection, I remember the good times I had and booted it up. It instantly hit me that the yellow flags were the answer. I got the last coin and found that ending. It wasn't as great as this ones, but my inner child cried.

OMG now i no wat happens inside that little vocano thing. i've spent along time trying 2 get all the coins untill... the games memory wiped, so i never got a chance 2 c it...untill now ty 4 showing me this now my curiousity is now gone. and i agree with the others i say that kaptin k rool has 2 b the hardest boss. but he's the funnest 2 play against. i wonder y nintendo didn't add him in brawl?

Just keep trying. Eventually, you'll beat them. DKC2 is generally considered the hardest of the series, so don't be surprised if you have more trouble later on.

Ah DKC2, the first game I played and also the last great game with DK's name on It. No DK game since has had the attention to detail, mood and great gameplay

K. Rool is a Master of Disguse, he takes on several personas and abilities in each game. In the first DK Country he was King K. Rool, in the second he was Kaptain K. Rool, in the third he was Baron K. Rool and in Donkey Kong 64, he was Krusha K. Rool.

He was already wounded and tired from the previous battle no too long before this one. Plus it takes you a couple of trys since he throws everything he has at you.
