Donner Morpher - Distortion Pedal - Demo 

Why is everyone teasing him about his sweater? My mum has the same sweater and loves it.

As always, the most entertaining, informative, detailed, funny & hippest pedal demos on Utube for sure! Not to mention the coolest looking (cool pad) & sounding also..Please don't change, Thx.

A pedal that can sound good through high end gear is a good pedal. But a pedal that can make super low cost gear sound good is a GREAT pedal. For $30 (but even at a much higher price) the Donner Morpher is a great pedal (courtesy of Suhr's hard work in designing the Riot, of course), and this demo very clearly illustrated this fact. Good job Henning!

Love your videos man! I'm considering purchasing this pedal as a compliment to my TC Dark Matter. Price aside, is it worth it?

I own 2 of these and will prob buy 1 or 2 more just in case they stop making em. Bottom line, The Morpher sounds like a great tube amp being pushed hard. The tone is rich and full of harmonics(for only $25 too... unreal!). It also takes my tube screamer clone really well. Plus, it sounds equally great through my Peavey Bandit or Envoy as it did through my big tube amp. Which is awesome because after many years of buying, changing, biasing(& having to crank) tubes... I'm done! My Morpher into my Transtubes jus sounds fantastic. If you're on the fence about the Morpher... BUY IT!!!

You sold me on one of these. I just received it today and looks like they changed the color recently but otherwise it's the same and as my first distortion pedal, very nice indeed. Thanks for the awesome review :). I only used overdrive before but wanted some variety without having to crank the amp, this works a treat.

Have this pedal and amazing for the little cash. A lot of tones out of it and quiet unlike a lot of my other distortion pedals as far a background noise. Lot of Sustain too at higher settings

Is that morpher control even connected? Compared to the other controls I heard no difference in the sound at all.

Just picked one up in a pawn shop in North Carolina, USA for 20 bucks mint condition.

The Donner Delay sounds good too. Worth giving this distortion a try as it might have a sound others don't -for the price it's not a risk.

Guys I just got mine in the mail and the toggle switch is kinda lose. Also when I put it on neutral it stops working. What should I do?

Just an idea, but maybe it you wanna showcase JUST the pedal (and not the expensive rig you're testing it through) you should show what it does through a CLEAN amp... Not overdrive or "slight" breakup... Just an idea... Otherwise, thanks for the review... You've shown ALOT of people that inexpensive gear CAN sound GREAT!

Thanks Henning another of your expected awesome demos and yet again ... another mustn't have but want on my already ridiculously full pedal board! I just updated my Us Dream for a Riot and added a Catalinbread DLS3 so all my pedals WEREN'T Chinese (Joyo-Blue Rain & American/Movall-Bumblebee/Eno-Trouble & Myomorphia/Biyang-OD8)! I take them off and a week later they are back on as I keep going back to them as my home base! how can you fault them when you listen with your ears and they sound great! Obviously cheap is this one's drawcard for what you get - AWESOME - so yes another pedal will be replaced and thanks to you and your demo I now have tell the missus "Hi Honey ... got another pedal coming!" and distortion of all things!

I'm in the process of building my own pedal board, and I actually bought the Carl Martin Octaswitch after seeing your review of it. You liked the Dark Matter distorsion which also seems to have great value. Which pedal do you prefer of the Dark Matter and the Morpher, and why?

I have this pedal sounds great its on my pedal board I own a lot of pedals 30 years of buying music equipment cheap but great you flick the switch you can see the led diode change colour inside the pedal

its a nice pedal. but i would love to hear demos of cheap pedals on a cheap guitar and cheap amp..

These are the best pedal demos because they give you clear idea of what the pedal does without bad playing or equipment. So if it sounds very different when you use it, it's your playing or equipment.

Just picked one up and man is it great. Best rock/punk/metal distortion i own. Ordering a second one to keep on a mild setting. So cheap and tiny! You will not be disappointed.

I bought one of this pedals but I don't have a guitar , dont know how to play one either ..... I'm gonna use it as a door stop though

Have this and has three major voicing's. Quite a lot of sustain and the rings around the level change from red to blue depending on 2 of settings. The third is a rat high drive

This pedal is really good compared to the price, really cheap but very well done ! Good sustain and sound.

i've got two of these. the first one totally didn't work. I got a second one as a replacement after a month of back and forth and it worked but it sounded nothing like this. It has a fuzz thing going on in the mid range...and odd morphing sound. Yours sounds very usable....great actually. Mine went into the drawer of pedals that "aren't" on my board and will probably not be used.

I this a Mooer pedal? Donner seems to be a 'Rebranding-Brand', like Harley Benton.

There's cheap and then there's cheap. I guess that this pedal would sound very poor through a solid state amp?

i've been watching a ton of reviews of distortion pedals. Here's what I've come up with: A lot of the reviews are either metal pedals, or overdrive pedals. Also a lot of expensive pedals. Also, this sounds better than a lot of the stuff I've watched. Might grab one.
