Sharon Jheeta We don't need another hippie revolution to be peaceful, loving, and connective to each other! Men, stereotypes! If we want to accept each other stop the labels! Where what we want, do what we want without being a hippie. Labels will just stick! everyone can wear flowers on their hair without being a hippie.💕💕🌺 but yeah, hippies are wonderful people. But not all, let's keep that in mind
True that. The world has gotten so aggressive and proverbially "dog eat dog" that it is hard for me to look forward to human interaction...and I love people at my core. So sad. Best thing we can do is just set a positive example for others. Lot of hurting folks out there that self-medicate with anger. I disappeared in to major drug and alcohol addiction for 12 years in a desperate attempt to cope. Donovan was unique in that he stayed mostly removed from the hippie drug scene and kept a clear head. Not knocking acid and other psychedelic tools, but drugs were without question used to excess back then...well, today for that matter. Lol.
Those where great times when the nation and the world of young people actually got together to enjoy each others thoughts and ideas. It was a true union and movement for peace and love. I remember going to the Morristown Square in New Jersey and just walking around and meeting people I never knew, and upon meeting them, we were instantly connected and bonded by the visceral ideas that were shared by everyone. it was truly Peace, Love, and Joy. So happy to see Gypsy Dave here in this video also!
They got together inside their bubble and shared the same thoughts and ideas. They espoused hatred to others. It was no different than today except today it can be spread more rapidly. The good thing is liars can be quickly proven liars these days.
I used to live in Bernardsville New Jersey right next to Morristown and was there at the green or square all the time. I can't believe I saw your comment lol. It's nice to hear from someone who was in Morristown back then!
I did And I don't like 2000s music I like real people, playing real instruments, real voices, no auto tune, REAL TALENT Queen and Donovan are my favorites.
Most likely his LSD inspired philosophies on this video. He even portrays the maneurisms of smooth tripping just by the tone of his voice and his free flow logic and aura overall. Sign of the times there man. 1966 is when the hippie revolution really took off and a year before the summer of love would even take place.
Donovan is where it all started for me during my teens mid 90's. There are so so many artists and bands that i have come to know since, but it has always been donovan who brings me back to my roots. Donovan is the man.
It’s a great shame that great artists such as Donovan and Bert Jansch who spoke of the importance of identity felt that they had to deny their Scottishness by adopting an English accent to be accepted by the scene.
Well, my friend, given the fact that the new psychedelic tsunami of bands like The Black Angels, Sleepy Sun or Temples will flood the summer festivals this year, there might be a good chance of that happening...Peace.
Right on... but I still wonder why did he and Dylan had to have slightly mean, and burly (and beautifully booted) sidekicks in the bed next to their own.
blackmore4 Donovan was a massive fan of Bob Dylan! at first Dylan was quiet jealous of his presence and loving ego. But he then adored his albums and records too! It was the media actually!!!Clashing them too much
