its sad and I hope im wrong, but this sort of talent may go sideways, there is so much technology the youngsters can rely on nowadays, hank and many more of the great musicians, started out with very basic instruments, personal opinion, but for me the greatest of them all, he can make a guitar speak long may you keep playing, god bless
Dead right Wayne,I think Hanks brilliant. Mind you there are a lot of very god layers on you tube that nobody's really heard of check them out, you'll be amazed.
I agree with you I’m 28 I didn’t grow up listening to Hank I liked Metallica and all of that stuff when I first started playing guitar I was learning the heavy stuff because I thought it was cool..... then while I was living at my nan and grandads I heard bbc radio Norfolk rock and roll show on Saturdays and I heard apache for the first time well I picked up my guitar didn’t know much learnt it and loved my Nan the showed me more from the shadows and I continued I was 18 at the time, to this day I still play the shadows or hanks solo stuff the way he makes the guitar talk is beautiful. I don’t have expensive gear but what I have sounds close enough to him so yeah I agree with you’re comment 100%
I completely agree today's singers and musicians are helped by today's technology when hank started out it was pure raw talent sadly not anymore and none of today's musicians are in his class

Anybody can play this tune, but hey not like Hank, his feeling expressed expressed on every note, each note and intonation is purposely played, he still plays Apache with the same emotion, this guy is my all time favourite guitarist

I have listened to Hank Marvin since he was on stage. He has talent but I feel the "hawaiian twang" style didnt fully capture or fully express his true talent. He did some very good melodic solos and i would have loved it if did a few different syles. However, still one of the more gifted musicians for sure.
I am a very stout fan of Nokie edwards from the Ventures and have on occasion watched Hank as he comes up when i search on you tube for Nokie--I gotta tell ya after seeing a few performances such as this one--I am also becoming a fan of his as well--simply astounding !--thanx for posting
