This is a definitely a very insightful video on the mancubus and I agree with just about everything in it. A little tip I have is that similarly to how to explained you can use smoke and hazard together, it can be effective to spawn your demons very close to the slayer and then fire your smoke. Most the AI have fairly decent melee attacks and while they usually only help a little bit while visible, in a area filled with smoke a arachnatron or cacodemon can take out MASSIVE chunks of the slayers health.
id love to see one of these on slayer but im not sure how much more there is to talk about obviously battlemode is a different experience to the campaign but the core mechanics are all the same i just want to not suck at slayer lol
@@sticklyboi I use this strat everytime its called "Shoot one shot with ssg and ballista and switch guns everytime you take one shot. It always works when you know what ur doing lol. Also resource management is key as well. What you want to do as slayer is to use lock on rockets for flying demons as well as ssg and gauss and try to get above ground demons like the marauder and find and opening to where you can shoot a rocket and grenade at the same time and double that damage. Then get both demons low, shoot one and finish him off and then shoot the other and its gg
Playing mancubus is a bit like playing pyro in TF 2. You can WM+1 down noobs easily (who will never fail to complain), but to win against good players, you need to learn how to move around the map and flank effectively. And while pyro has utility in his airblast, which is difficult to use but very good if you master it, mancy has the same kind of thing in his smoke bomb.
im level 40 and a lot of slayers i see have just barely beaten the campaign for the first time so they are really bad. i just love the feeling when you can get him to come right next to you you put down the hazard damage box thing and just cook them in less than 3 seconds
i wish my summoned demons did anything. even with a slayer close by, they often stand still, don't attack, and just block all of my shots and movement.
Have you ever done voice work for a channel like DidYouKnowGaming? You have like, the perfect voice for stuff like that. It made this whole video weirdly relaxing for being all about maiming Doom Slayers.
I would actually love to do more voice work but have zero Idea how I would explore that path. Doing a Didyouknowgaming video would be an amazing experience but I don't think it ever happen 😭
@@PNDKM You gotta definitely try and shoot em an email or something in case they ever do another Mortal Kombat or Doom or whatever video. I definitely wanna hear ya in the next one they do 👍
My favourite thing to do is the opposite of body-blocking myself but rather use it against the slayer BC there's nothing more funny to me then a slayer getting backed into a corner and then body-blocked by my minions and me while I just let the flamethrower rip and they die so quickly its funny.
I think the summoned Makyr drone don't actually give ammo when headshotted in battlemode, only health... still bad, but at least it's not a free, non-chainsaw resupply for the Slayer
@@kroniid3978 in the campaign yes.. but in battlemode I only ever saw health come out of them after hearing the headshot "pop", multiple times... and I gues it makes sense, as if it gave ammo, it would actually be better to NEVER summon it. It's till bad that it gives health, but at least it doesn't refill the Slayer's gun on top
You are wasting potential on your smokes. Smoke long range sight lines once the game starts, it shuts down certain angles completely from ranged ballista or precision shot spam. smoking yourself is useless, and if anything, gives you away. hit the slayer directly with it instead, blocking his view, and putting on a small bit of damage. Use Fast smokes for quick charges and escapes, and as a haste when it's on cooldown. Do not use smokes for close range unless desperate, because blinding yourself, whether you know the map or not, is actively handicapping yourself, and detrimental to your survival. Use the offensive ability set only, as healing volume is garbage, and can easily be outdamaged by a competent slayer. instead, use toxic volume either in prediction of the slayer's movements, on the portal to damage a fleeing slayer, or place it behind him while you're pushing him to delete his healthbar. Defensive is not an option for mancubus. You're never going to get away from a persuing slayer, you have the biggest hitbox in BATTLEMODE. You can't outheal or outrun him. you must either smoke angles and wait for the slayer or your teammate to push, or stick onto the slayer and never let go. If your teammate is dead, hiding is a hit or miss. if you've already been seen, Stand and fight, or die. or both.
