It’s really sad and pathetic that we’ve come to a place in our society where we now HAVE to wear body cams and carry weapons just to deliver some damned food or drive someone for 10-15 minutes. 🤦‍♂️

The moment they get attitude I contact support and cancel. I'm not putting myself at risk to deliver to a crazy person. You did the right thing.

✨I am disabled and housebound, I rely heavily on delivery drivers. I also appreciate them for the hard work they do and the amazing service they provide, without them I’d be screwed and hungry. I am so thankful to the drivers. I never understand these people that are so rude to their drivers, it’s disgusting. I have a weird address that shows my location wrong on the maps. So I give easy yet, detailed directions to actually find me in the “other instructions” part. I follow that up with texting the driver and giving them a heads up that I’m hard to find and I have directions they should read. Then I tell the. To call if they still have any trouble at all. Also, even on a fixed disability income… I ALWAYS TIP! I respect the hell out of these people, I wish everyone else did. ✨💜✨

I delivered pizzas about 25 years ago and it was scary sometimes. One place I pulled up to was huge. House, barn, pond. Late at night. I opened my door, turned to the passenger seat to get the food, turned back to the open door and was face to face with the biggest ratty ever. I said hi boss, back up please, and he did. Owners turned out to be the coolest guys lol. Turns out the dogs name was Boss. Got a 50 dollar tip that night, for not freaking out lol.

love the camera idea. I got burned recently by a liar; would I have loved to had that camera. I had to drop off 30 lbs of dog food which is very hard for me to carry. I gave it directly to a woman in her yard. She then said she didn't get the order and of course, got the dog food for free and I got a violation. This woman greeted me, spoke kindly to me, and then turned around a screwed me royally. The moral of the story is ALWAYS take a pic no matter who the heck they are. p.s. I've been with DD for almost 3 years, what the hell do I want with dog food, I have no dog. And I have never and will never steal anything from anyone.

I’ve had a couple people get lost delivering food to me and we just talked through it. Idk why that person would curse and be rude to a Door Dash driver that knows their address 😒 Door Dash should really block customers that act like that for at least a certain amount of time, like an adult timeout. But of course they won’t because they only care about money. Sorry you dealt with that.

I know what happened. She has orders shipped to her house. She was ordering from a different location and forgot to change the location. I did that as a customer once and drove to meet the driver at the location she was at, which was the correct location based on where I mistakenly had kept in the app. I gave my driver an extra large cash tip for waiting on me.

Ice cream shouldnt be allowed to order with food delivery driver's its bad enough dealing with drinks🤣

Having a go pro strapped on my chest is a huge relief for me. I also have a dash camera in my car. Food delivery drivers should be taking the same precautions as regular Uber/Lyft drivers.

Something like this happened to my wife. I think it was 2 weeks ago she delivered the order to the wrong house (it was like 3 houses down) the customer called she wen't & got the food took it To the customer's house by the time she got there she(the customer) already called doordash and canceled the order and proceed to curse my wife out my wife is Dominican &she loves to fight so she cussed the customer back out.

I know exactly what happened. These stupid apps let the customers use their gps to dictate their address. Instead of typing it in manually. So obviously if the gps can't pinpoint their exact location correctly, it'll be incorrect. I always tell people, if a bird flies over your house, can it see if you're home inside? Same thing applies to the gps. It isn't always pin point accurate. And can make it seem like you're farther away. This was the customers fault 100%

Don't seek them out. cancel the order that's very dangerous. Cancel the order and don't worry about it. I no longer do deliveries. Is just getting too crazy out there. And not enough money.

Ok, after watching through this again, I think I can tell you what happened. The customer said they put their apartment address including the apt complex name and address in the app notes. Now, I know us delivery drivers can accidentally not pay close enough attention to the customers notes and special instructions. This seems to be what happened. However, that doesn't give the customer any right to start cussing out a driver. It looks like things got heated pretty quickly, unfortunately. Sometimes it's better to communicate by phone instead of texts, I know I've called customers numerous times and quickly cleared up a misunderstanding regarding their location, etc. It seems too many people are text only these days and steer clear of phone conversations for some odd reason.

Had a double order and the second delivery was really close .. but she thought i was lost and kept texting me you're not in the right area I'm up the street .. explained i had one to deliver before her and she flipped "my foods gonna be cold I'm just gonna report it never showed up* i said i know where you live and she shut up never reported anything lol

I am disabled and I live in a difficult house to find. So I have the drivers come to a commonly used cross street near my home. When they get there, I have the driver call me and I get them to my house. And they all get a big tip, no matter how long it takes to get to me. I feel bad for the drivers who are working hard and I appreciate I don’t need to go pick it up, which is great when I’m having a flare up of my issues.

I've had UE navigation take me to the wrong spot many times but the customers have always been helpful in directing me to them. Well, except for one snippy college student who wasn't aware that the access point down the road from her dorm was closed because apparently she's never looked to her left. I had to find my way to her without her help because she was just incapable of giving me directions. I have been interested in getting a body cam so these reviews you're doing are very helpful.

Hello. I'm glad you made this video. I am going to buy a body camera tomorrow. In the last 3 weeks i've had two shady customers that I ended up hand delivering food to say that the food was not delivered to them. Of course, without a photo what can I really do? It makes me sad to know that people are so petty that they will steal fast food and not care if it affects my job and me making a living. I have had similar experiences delivering food and Spark orders. It helps to put in the name of the apartment complex in your Google Maps search instead of the address. It's funny when people order ice cream, etc. and don't expect it to be half way melted when it arrives, especially in humid climates. Brainless idiots.

I had the same thing happen to me. The app brought me to the absolute wrong location 10 miles from where I was suppose to be.

THIS is the reason why I manually enter the address on Google Maps. When I use the Doordash in app map, it takes me to back of the house most of the time.

Related to the topic, I have been thinking of getting a dash cam for my car, but I never thought I would need a body cam when I am out on deliveries. This happened to me twice. One took me to a store ended up being an apartment. Last week it was a different house down a different street. That sucks youve had rude customers but you seemed chill about it. I haven't had one YET anyway.

I also had this happen. The app took me to a wooded area on the end of the street. I kept trying to call and text the customer with no response. I put it in my Apple Maps and it brought me right to the spot I needed to drop off. Thankfully she understood and wasn’t too upset. But I always put the address in my Apple Maps from now on when the app says I’m getting close. I know it takes a little more time but I’d rather take a little more time than something like this happen. I’m sorry this happened to you. 💕 customers need to understand what goes into this job and the external factors that come along with it

Wearable cameras and in-car cameras should be used by anyone working with the public, like Uber and DoorDash, etc. Protect yourself from lies and violence as best you can. You can't trust anyone today.

I've had similar situations with the navigation. The customer put in the right address but the app took me to the wrong spot. I always screen shot the map just in case, and call the customer to let them know whats going on. I had one customer where it was "hand it to me" and when i got there, the app was telling me i was in the wrong area for delivery. My customer was like "But your not! Thats crazy!" I apologized. I ended up marking "customer told me to deliver here" just so I could move on. 😅

I have no desire to converse with anybody that's too lazy to go get their own food.

She didn't want melted ice cream, and ended up with none. 🤣 I like the way DDCS handled that.

Hey Lady , sorry to hear of the problems with this woman . The Fla. heat does things to people as such . Reminds me of having to deal with " step siblings " and caused me to wonder if I would deliver to them . The body cam does well for the price involved . I don't see the verbal aspect of it as being a deal changer . Correct moves should be capable during editing . I'll let you go . Stay safe .

I had the same issue once. My GPS took me to a specific place where was not the customer’s building. I called the customer and tried to explain what was happening and asked if he could meet me outside inside the complex and he said no.😂

Something kind of like this happened to me. I was gonna buy a toy airport for my nephew. The GPS refused to cooperate with me. At one point I pulled over and started asking people if they knew where Roosevelt Street was, but they said no. While I was parked and ready to turn on the car, the lady messaged me and asked "ETA?". I didn't know because I had no idea where I was. I kept driving trying to figure everything out without my GPS working and I asked Starbucks employees, Starbucks customers, and no one knew. I went back into my car and I got a message from the super nice, super sweet lady (🙄) saying, "You haven't responded in 10 minutes to my messages. I am going to leave the chat now". And she blocked me. She was waiting in the comfort of her own home. I would have been more understanding if she had been waiting for me at the Target store or something and I had been taking a while to arrive.

There is a specific area in my market where the GPS literally ALWAYS takes you at least 10 minutes away from where you actually need to go. Not even exaggerating, every single time, the customer had to call to walk me through where to go and or text me specific directions with photos of the building they are in. Even the customers I delivered to verify that the GPS did the same thing when they were trying to find whatever location they are at. Regarding it they are in a hotel room, their own house etc.I was so annoyed I called Door Dash to ask if I could stop getting orders sent to me that had to be delivered there. I was newer to the area so I had no idea what areas where located in this nightmare area. They have since added where you can uncheck spots you don't want to go and I'd love to think that me calling them nonstop about this nightmare area was a part of this wonderful app addition lol And I too had a nightmare order that involved ice cream, I kept my car as cold as it would go so hopefully it wasn't too melted. It was a nightmare because the persons address was not in any GPS. And the original GPS directions took me about 30 minutes in the opposite direction. It took me North when I needed to go South East. That order took me well over an hour to complete and the person pretended they understood and felt bad that the order was such a nightmare. But then they lied and said they were going to give me an extra cash tip to make up for all my gas, time, etc. it took to get there. This order literally drained my gas tank and I couldn't dash any more to else I wouldn't have had enough gas to make it home. And that's the condensed version of the story. It must be something about people who order ice cream.

I wear a $165 police type body cam that records for 12 hours straight In a loop. The customers calm down real quick when they see it.

I have had situations happen a couple of times in my zone in Orlando. Not sure what causes it but typically if I manually enter the address in google maps, it works fine.

I have been there, app always either takes to a restaurant that isn’t there at address or takes you to wrong place.

I work in Australia and the maps have often taken me to the wrong location and it's really fkn annoying. When ppl are waiting for their food and watching you drive to the wrong location they tend to blame the delivery driver. Meanwhile support takes forever and communicating when driving is generally not easy. Over all it's very easy for misunderstandings to happen. The companies need to do better about updating their maps and it's a nightmare to get support for Uber eats here. You are right about cams. I am looking into getting one as I had a rude customer once and I felt so exposed and unsafe. I delivered his food as the first of 3 orders, within 8 mins of the pick up even though he lived 12 mins away, his address was off a round about where you can't legally park so I parked 2 houses down and walked to him and he didn't respond when I said hello or asked if it was his order, he just stared at me (imagine walking at night and having a creepy giant dude just looking at you and not saying a word) then when I got close he lunged over the fence and snatched the bag off me and yelled at me for not knowing where his house was. I explained that I knew exactly where his house was but as he lives off a round about on the corner there is nowhere to park so I parked 2 houses down. Who gets upset over that anyway? Clearly this man was just in a bad mood but We really have no safety doing this job. We aren't allowed to carry most of those items you mentioned down here, really no self defense here without getting into trouble yourself. I do however carry a key knife (it looks like a key but it flips open into a small pocket knife)

Been dashing for 2 yrs now, so far I just had one bad interaction with a customer last week, I didn’t bother say anything I just walked away. But I do carry at all time…

I've found that either the customer does not know how to pin their location accurately or errors on their surveyed location or the map itself when they put in the address vs. pinning it. I live in a condo and if I put in the address it will show up wrong on the apps so I will always pin & give drivers a heads up note and anticipate the need to walk them in. Of course many customers don't think in terms like that they just want an easy fast delivery. Also If I do have a problem I will try to call them vs. texting. When there are problems many customers can be communicated with better that way. Of course if they don't answer I'll then text but while texting is easier for simple issues when there is a problem often voice can be better and faster. Especially when dealing with older folks. BTW in terms of bodycams I've seen the Pen style cameras on Amazon. Cheap, but might be worth reviewing.

I had this issue this week gps sent me 10 mins away....took forever to get to the person with their meds.

I’m confused about one thing with the camera it says it has 64 GB of built-in memory but then on the Amazon page it talks about putting in your micro desk, so is it 64 built-in and expandable by whatever size disk you buy??

The maps glitch sometimes. I’ve had that issue a lot. New places being built. The people who did the maps suck, etc. I’ve never dealt with someone who was rude about it though. Usually I just call and they tell me, I find it, and orders done. I watched this video just to make sure I knew what to do if things went south. One day, it will for me too.

I deal with this stuff all the time but I'm also in a very small town not many drivers or orders and I always work harder to get the order to the correct address even if it means I miss out on another order. Customer service is key. My biggest problem is people not answering the phone when there is either something out at the restaurant or I'm not 100% sure I'm at the correct place of delivery. I just need a couple seconds of your time to make sure you get what you paid for. That's what I'm here for.

I wonder if there were 2 streets with similar names: Mango street and Mango Terrace? We used to live in a city that had up to 3 versions of the same name: 75th street, 75th Terrace, and 75th avenue. Super confusing!

I thought if i go out of town and get pulled over by police- i might film the officers charictor- just in case of a bad actor-as there seems to be a fair emount of criminal cops with felony charges, fixed and then being rehired in other county's.

It’s a scam. She’s further away and she doesn’t wanna have to pay more for the delivery. You’re not supposed to deliver it to anywhere but the actual delivery address. I would just tell support it’s not the correct address and go about my day.

This happened to me the other day I called the customer and they directed me towards the right address and I specifically told them and showed them how to change their pin. And what I mean by pin is there's a location pin in the doordash app that can be changed and all you have to do is move the location pin to the closest road which is in front of their address and they need to set the location pin to the closest street in front of their address And that's all that has to be done customers and drivers need to learn how to do this if they don't already know how It's easy And less stressful in the end once everybody knows. So even if that means physically showing the customer how to do that then so be it!!!!.

Thats when you tell them WE CAN ONLY GO WHERE THE GPS TELLS US!!!! WE DO NOT LIVE THERE YOU DO

this is why I always make sure my delivery is left at the front door and tip 5-10 $ before hand on the app. dont wanna deal with any social interaction that leads to random drama.

There’s a small curve at my street and drivers always get confused and I’ve seen some pull in front of my house and drive off. Last order was delivered to my neighbors house. I never get mad and always rate good. I just figure my place must be confusing because it’s like every delivery service.

I do use GoPro hero 11 black with body cam attachment it's not bad I put 256gb micro SD card and records about 10 hours I do vlog to but don't have time edit and upload yet due to we're gonna move and we cut down the wifi temporarily that cam is not bad for the price though. Wondering if the night vision is good enough. I do like super view on the GoPro though

I’ve had that similar problem with DoorDash and with drivers going to the wrong address. I didn’t freak out on the driver for doing that. I simply contacted DoorDash support and told them, hey look, you are pinpointing the wrong address and DoorDash corrected it.

google maps is a mess, frequently sends people to wrong address, then offers to 'fix' it for subscription fee. complain about it and it "magically" clears up. been dealing with this with first-time clients coming to my office for over 5 years.

These are problematic customers that ALWAYS have issues. They never correct them, such as specific directions to their house if gps is accurate, and are looking for confrontation. I had a customer try to make me wait, while they verified all the contents in their SEALED bag was correct. The guy even inspected the hamburger lol, and tried to tell me they didn't make it right. You did good at staying calm and collected.

Dashers, Uber eats Drivers and Grubhub drivers should pick up orders only when it says 1 Mile = $1+ Tips, Example Order value $5, 7Miles, this is a Bad order. If the Order value is $5+ Tips, distance is 3 miles or 4 miles this is a good order. When you are driving you should consider Depreciation of the Vehicle, wear & tear of vehicle, Gas used for driving and your time spent driving the vehicle. If you are not following these rules then you are wasting your time and Money. ✌️👍🙂

sometimes the gps on these app will take you to completely different area or address street. One time it took me in middle of nowhere and the street didn't even match haha. Now i always check the gps map of the street before i drive if its a street i don't recognize.

Were these new apartments? Or were these apartments on a new street? Just asking because I've had the same problem on many deliveries and the problem seem to be always happening on the new streets. Not yet registered on Google maps yet so It sends you to a random location near the location your supposed to be. I usually Google the address and use the map on Zillow if it's a new house, usually works for me.
