Hi Mark. Ordered a 100 pack of the Primes about 6 months ago and I couldn`t agree with you more. A very smooth and sharp blade and very efficient. A winner in my book for sure. Thanks for the video.

I finally gave these a try using my king c razor and so cal hipster soap from a&e and boy was I impressed. Very mild but very efficient, I actually loved it.

Good evening, Mark and congrats on a very informative video! I couldn’t agree more with you regarding the Prime Platinums. I got a pack for free with a razor and was blown away by the same attributes that you discussed, particularly their sharpness and softness, so I ordered 100 more. For me, they are absolute go-to blades, along with Astra SP and Gillette Silver Blue. They may even be sharper than those two but, unlike Feather, never feel brittle and practically never leave nicks or weepers behind. They are a truly under-appreciated blade, but their reputation appears to be growing. Keep up the great work!

Hi Mark, I took my first tentative steps into the safety razor shaving world today using the Dorco Prime butterfly safety razor and Dorco prime platinum razor blades. I did my homework and watched reviews on these products before I decided to give them a try and I found that both the razor and the blades are mild which makes them great for beginners who are looking to test the waters of DE shaving. Really enjoy the review and agree with your assessment of these blades. They're not as aggressive as some of the blades out there like feathers, but they're not too mild either, I think they have a good balance of sharpness and comfort to them.

Hi, Tman2217.:) So glad ot hear the review was helpful.:) Dorco makes some realy nice blades. the rgular Dorcos are a good budget blade, but i find the Primes to be very, very good.:) As I recall, Dorco also manufactures the budget blades found at Dollar General stores. Well, i went through my old emails and foudn teh answer form a Dorco rep. "And yes, Dorco does manufacture the products sold at Dollar General."

I use the Dorco ST301's and the Primes, both are good. The Primes are sharper, they shave similar as the Astra SP. I never tried the ST300.

Yes, I have found the Prime razor blades to be the better of the two.

Love these blades along with astra greens. Found a pack of treets laying around and liked them too.regular dorcos are no good for me but love these primes!! Great info.

What you describe sounds similar to what I've experienced with carbon blades over the first couple of shaves.

@@MarkSzorady Fair points. I'm able to avoid such by way of a quick rinse post-shave. I do this with stainless as well. Doing so makes the 2nd and 3rd shave just a little nicer. Appreciate the content.

Hi Mark. How are these "Dorco Prime" compared to the blades of "Viking Blades"?

Patrick, the distinct difference is the thinness. The Dorco Primes are smooth, but I think the Vikings blade are smoother. Both are nice. But the thinness of the Dorco blade is definitely noticeable. Personal preference, I'd say. Plus, I'm not sure how many shaves I'll get with the Dorco. Prime. With the Vikings blade razor blades, I got five to seven REALLY nice shaves.:) Will I get that many with the Dorco, especially since it is thinner? I don't know. I may not get that far in shaves as I tend to go three shaves and then toss the blade for a new one.:) One of the few luxuries I give myself.:) Some guys spend their money golfing.:) I spend my money on making sure I have a new razor blade as often as possible.:):)

DORCO Prime Platinum (Made in Vietnam) blades suck - couldn’t even get through one pass on the cheek. Tried a number of them in a variety of razors; same results: no cutting on my whiskers at all - AT ALL! Pass.

Mark Szorady - You’re right, Mark: to each their own. I just had an entirely different experience from these blades. To varying degrees, I’ve often seen slightly different performance from blades than the results reported in reviews (and I do realize that one’s mileage may vary depending on a number of factors) but nothing as dramatically different as with these DORCOs. I’m thinking perhaps a bad batch - who knows? Anyway, as a recent subscriber to your channel, I do appreciate your content and helpful reviews. Happy Holidays and keep on cutting ‘em clean! 🙂

@@dorianphilotheates3769 I've come across a less than stesllar shave with a few blades. Whereas the blade's performance, overall, is usually quite good. So, yes, perhaps a bad batch or a bad blade or two in the tuck.
