Dot Matrix and Silvering on Rear Windows!! Lets Solve This Problem!!😯😯😯👊👊👊💪💪💪 

Scrape the top and bottom dots WITH A SCRAPER BLADE!! Yes a scraper blade but keep it flat over the bars in the dots. Don't be a clutz and scrape the bars(demister) Use the back of your extended knife blade for the bottom dot matrix. Like I've pointed out before(because of this) cut your film as far past the dots as you can(to seal the air out) so the film sticks to the ceramic you've just scraped clean. You want at least ten millimetres onto the solid ceramic for this to happen, so cutting out just past the dots by a few millimetres won't work. Park the finished window in the sun(not lights or hot air or whatever is in your head) the SUN,,, For about an hour to bake it down. Before the customer picks up the car go out and push the film down over the dots,,, Here's the bit where I go into poor management,, If your tint shop manager is a mug they'll say nothing like snakes do, if they're any good they'll point this out to the customer and tell them to drop back in, in a week or three, get a tinter to go around the now very sticky film over the metric dots. It sits down to the look which makes customers question half done workmanship your calling silvering and balls. Remember to check shrink over the dots but don't go too tight because you want the film as relaxed as it can be because the contour of the dots is going to take away the slack/relaxed outside mount. And this parts a no brainer, the thinner the film the better it's going to ride the bumps and sit down. For example the solargard vortex or quantum won't sit down over metric dots,, like ,at all. Clag with a uv emulation is the only way to get around it with the fussiest customers. Yeah I've been tinting longer than glue or backing sheets have been around, when I started tinting I started my day by making up mounting glue. That's the only product I've used that totally gets rid of the issue. Problem is teaching the youngins that want to chuck up shit jobs for a living and not learn the trade in full. Great advice! Is there any way to make sure you don’t get the silvering around the edges of the back glass? I notice most of the time it will silver around the edges but sometimes I get it looking pretty black without silvering.

Can you please help. I just had my tinting done today. After about 10 minutes the shop put the car in the sun, I thought I see some silvering in the dot matrix on the windshield, so my stupid arse had a "genius" idea to run my finger all over the place. After about 2 hours, I started to see that there was silvering "drawings" where I ran my finger over, while everywhere else was black and clear. I am so mad at myself but I am ashamed to go back to the shop. Is there anything I could do to fix the white strikes? The film brand is STEK, NEX series. If I press, it gets white there, not black. The silvering pattern looks awful. It looks like a 2yo played with a pencil. I am desperate 😵‍💫😭 So I thought of 2 things: 1. Rub everywhere "as is" on the dot matrix and hopefully get a uniform "color", rather than white smudges only in one area. 2. Heat the area with a heat gun and then rub/press the whole area... Should I try your method? Pull the film, let the car in the sun for a few hours, and then stick the film back on?
