Prayers for the Mother and her child. No Hydrants and apartment building fully involved when firefighters arrived it is best to just do a control burn where no one gets hurt.

For all the RU-vid firefighters, you wouldn't use the deck gun based on water availability (which was limited). You'll dump a tank in seconds and with that size of fire, will have accomplished nothing except wasting water. Welcome to rural firefighting, where water supply is a creek if you're lucky, most hydrants are shit and can barely supply 1 truck and you have about 15 head working a fire once again if you're lucky.Tankers and drop tanks are your only chance to put this size of fire out. Let's face it, that house was not survivable upon arrival and entry would have been suicide. I'm in a small rural fire department so I know the challenges. We train harder because of our small volume of calls (average 120/yr) and many of us have been through a fire academy. If you're not in a local volunteer fire department or know jack Squat about the challenges we face, your opinion means nothing so join up or shut up. 30 yrs on the job.

Prayers are with the family and the firefighters. Its not easy to deal with the loss of life.

It looked some foam or was that just suds. Sad. With the ladder truck in an engine could back down and pull off supply hose with forward lay. Think it would save time.

This is a real tragedy. A Mother who will not see her child grow to Adulthood and a 6-year-old who was never given the chance to make this world a better place.

When a fire dept comes to a fully involved fire where do they start first to apply water?

you can not fight a fire of that size with out tanker support

This happened to the apartment complex I had just vacated....

Sadly this fire was beyond saving much on arrival. My experience tells me when faced with this situation use available tank water to stop the spread of exterior ground fire then once there is sufficient water supply from tanker shuttle or firefighters can extinguish what is left.

Is there an issue with water for this department?

How many peoples loose her/his home? Why they life in the woods into wood houses without springler but not have a lake, river, water pool in near? RIP young family 😢😭

A 1 3/4 line would have protected the exposure ?!

Why did they allow that type of building to even be built in an area without a water supply?

I hope while waiting for water they at least attempted a search of the house. Condolences to the family.

I realize that they weren't going to knock down the fire with just tank water, but not laying a supply line and doing NOTHING is INEXCUSABLE. It was clearly obvious that they should've laid a supply line up the drive, and used the deck gun or at least a 2 1/2" line and dumped the tank.
