At the end of 2014 there was a charter by the ARHS to Run Double Headed Steam from Roma St to Boxflat and Down to Fisherman's Island. This video is our run from North Ipswich Workshops where QR's Heritage Fleet is keep, to Mayne Depot in the Suburb of Bowen Hills in Brisbane.
BB18¼ N°1079 led the way with myself and my mate Murray along with an Acting Supervisor and a workshops fitter giving a hand on AC16 221A.
It was only 1 of 2 times that I worked a double header and the only time I got to work the Yank as the Second Engine. I really enjoyed driving this engine, but firing was a pain... literally! I don't know how many times I hit my head on various parts of the cab whilst firing.
I would like to acknowledge Paul Shepard for granting me permission to use his footage. Both him and his brother, have done a great deal to record most of the Steam workings that QR has undertaken. Thank you.
Enjoy.
