Man, I can't get enough of this song! I hope Doug Seegers will have a nice home now, and plenty of food. God bless you, Mr. Seegers. Keep the music coming.
Jesus told his fishing disciples to throw in the net "on the other side of the boat," and the empty net filled to overflowing. The street is such a rich resource for untapped treasure! We should all go recruiting for the heavenly choir. I've lost count how many times I've listened to this message in song.
Going to see Mr Seegers play tonight and I couldn´t care less if it hailed snowballs from the sky really, there is only one word for tonight... bliss :D
There are huge talents in the world playing and singing on the street that is seen if believed, doug seegers is a great example of this, great song, great man.
AMAZING!! What an amazing man of most genuine and definite talent, spiced with his spirit-filled awesome voice and words. Love It!! Bless His Heart and Thank You Doug Seegers and for the person who discovered this most amazing man and his true talent. Praise Be To God~
omg.its been so so so long since the last i heard such powerful song like this... one of article came out of my news feed about him and first i check this song out i fall in love deeper and deeper,,,thanks for sharing....
Just in case you guys didn't know, this was an old man who was very broke, he was playing guitar for money on the streets. Some studio productions manager was walking to lunch with a famous singer when they heard him. They asked him if he wrote that song himself, he said yes. They then told him to come with them. They took him to a recording studio and sold the song for millions of dollars, now he's a millionaire. When I heard this story I about cried tbh.
There´s only one man alive that could do a guitar solo justice to this song, and that´s Slash, that steel crap destroys the whole song which is the best I heard in a long time.
Thanx Mr Seeger!
Does anyone know where this can be found in instumental? I have wanted to sing my whole life (well I mean in front of someone, I am great closet singer LOL) but this is the most moving song I have ever heard and I want to sing it at church. thank you
Without Jill Johnson he/you didn't discovered at all!!:) but your/he is a very good singer like the sugar man and so on!:) (Because Im a swedish person!: ))
I believe the lyrics are not resurrection soon I believe its restoration soon- he is referring to going back to the river of life to wash his soul "again" so he's been there before...
There is a different version of this song on Spotify which is in a different tone, I think it's Bm instead of Am, can you tell me which one is original?
