I love the idea of feeding your kids authentic cuisine from around the world. But DO IT RIGHT! For anyone wondering, according to Google and please correct me if I’m wrong, authentic Montreal smoked meat starts with curing brisket for a week. Then smoked until cooked through, then steamed until it’s done. Liquid smoke is NOT actual smoke, there is a major taste difference. What she’s doing is like “oh we’re having Mexican food tonight” then getting everyone crunchwraps from Taco Bell. This hurts my soul lol. EDIT: Also, why doesn’t she have at least one of her kids in the kitchen with her? If she’s so concerned about them understanding different culture’s food, what better way than having your kids learn how to make it? My 4 year old and 3 year old help me make food all the time, and they actually eat when they help make the food.

as a canadian myself, she didn’t not say poutine properly or even remotely tried too. it’s great that she does these around the world nights, but common. do you’re research and follow actual recipes. idk why she does the opposite of everything. she has the money to have went and gotten actual smoked meat for the sandwiches but did the opposite. she always over portions instead of just making a small amount on around the world nights to see what her kids eat. gosh she frustrates me.

I’m really shocked with the amount of money they make that they don’t invest in a larger home with a bigger kitchen. If she cut back on the name brand crap she buys in droves, they could get a house with the proper amount of rooms, a working septic tank, and a pantry fit for her size family. I know they make it work but I bet she fears failure and is worried that her thousands of dollars could go away at any time.

im from Minnesota & I would say tator tot hotdish is a big thing here. My grandma used to make what we called Raw Fries. You cut potatoes into somewhat thin slices or thicker, depending on what you like, then you put them in the deep fryer, and as they get golden brown, put them on a plate with a paper towel then sprinkle Seasoning salt on it or whatever seasoning you want. We do lawry's seasoning salt on pretty much everything, in including those. They taste like a potato chip almost but warm and they're thicker than a chip. I also put just like 3-4 drops of ketchup on each slice I eat & it's the perfect amount of ketchup! We haven't had them in awhile but they're a good side dish if you do burgers/hotdogs or even thin steaks or thicker ones. All I can say is they are delicious! Another thing my grandma would make is venison or beef stew. She didn't make homemade gravy for it, she just used the packaged gravy that you just add water to (i think) then you add in corn and any other veggies you may want in it. You cook it in the slow cooker all day and by dinner time, it's done. Make some homemade bread with it and BAM, you got a few meals out of it!!

CLEARLY CANADIAN!!! That stuff was like gold when I was a kid. I remember always begging my mom to get it. The first time she came home with a case from Costco, I think my pre-teen brain exploded. I haven’t seen those bottles since the 90’s. Wow. 🤗 Edit: UPDATE! …..I checked my local grocery store (Safeway) and they have it in four flavors! Orchard Peach🍑, Mountain Blackberry⛰️, Wild Cherry🍒, and Country Raspberry ❤️. Totally going to go full ode to teenage me and buy up some of those, maybe some fruit loops, some pizza rolls, those large soft pretzels, and gummy bears. My husband does the butter on the bread and corn on the cob thing… I just use the little corn cob skewer and roll it in a pile of butter. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m from Indiana. And sprinkle on salt and pepper.

I almost feel sorry for her because she seems kind of insecure, trapped in her teen years, desperate for attention and love. Everyone has good and bad in them, but the fact that she’s tried to show us how good she is on camera and failed, she’s trapped in this new life and all sense of morals and sanity has left her head.

Hahaha I’m from Newfoundland and we call poutine “pouteen” 🤣🤣 also the way they cook lobster isn’t the traditional way of cooking it. Boil them alive in some ocean water 😬 I don’t think Canada really has traditional Canadian food besides poutine but our provinces has their own traditional food. Ours in Newfoundland is jigs dinner, fried cod or halibut with fries

Water logged corn on the cob-I always bake corn on the cob in the oven if I don’t put them on the grill-that all looks so gross

Also don't put the corn in the pot until the water boils or it will absorb the water and that will dilute the sweet flavor of the corn. Personally I like it on the grill then slather in butter and salt :) However, her corn sits there hot without her putting any butter on it. Ugh
