15:00 Cohh not understanding that games are subjecting and comedy is subjective is baffling here. You guys often understand and respect that people can have different opinions on games so Cohh calling this review into question runs contrary to prior conversations. Also the comment that Gollum scored higher is baffling when they weren't even reviewed by the same person. Am I supposed to start tearing apart Zeke's top 10 game lists when they don't include a game that appears on Cohh and JP's now? Of course not. I understand people have different opinions and preferences. Not that it matters but I haven't played Snow Day. I'm simply not interested or invested in that game on a personal level. This isn't me hating on the game or being a fanboy of the game.

Some feedback for @CohhCarnage: cutting off your co-hosts when they are explaining something is frustrating for a viewer/listener. Specifically, when JP was explaining Judas, you cut him off before he could even explain the game or the background. This is just one example, but it happens often. It comes across that you think your point is more important than JP's or Zeke's. Not hating here, just providing feedback as I can here. Sometimes I am really interested in what they are saying, and then you steamroll them.

For me, indie just means: The people with the power to decide what the game is about and where it's going are the people who are actually making it. Ce tu. I also come from the TTRPG side of things which is why it was sad when Hasbro bought WotC, turning them from indie to corporate controlled.

Regarding Alone in the Dark (2024) and why it might not be for everyone: It's based on Lovecrafts work and the story of it plays out like one of his stories. It's 80% setting up the backstory and mood (with some minor combat involved due to it being a game) with the player catching up on what happened before the characters came to the place and everything present + major events happens in the last parts of the game. That kind if storytelling is not everyones cup of tea, specially in this day and age where we are used to seeing at least one big thing happens early on.

Kind of disappointed in Cohh for being upset over a review being very negative. Reviews are super subjective. If they got justifications for their opinions, then you can't tell them that they're wrong in disliking it as much as they do. Cohh often rates games much HIGHER than other people, and I wouldn't say to him that he's wrong for that.

For me, Indy is more a feel than anything else. The vast majority of that feel comes from how the game is monetized. A game made by a small team without a major publisher who designed the game to extract maximum amount of money from players is not "indy" to me. At that point, it's equivalent to the major publishers spiritually. It's why I agree with Cohh that BG3 is Indy. It's not poisoned by current industry monetization practices.

For almost everyone I know - and mind you we're all PC gamers - the rule of thumb is $1 per hour. Maybe a small exception for like a $60 game that lasts you 40 hours, but that's rare.

Indie is just a style of game with a lower price at this point. Like most XBLA games on 360. Unravel is indie even though it’s published by EA.

To me Indie always meant an indicator of cost, polish, scope, budget, and publishers influence all those things greatly. When you play an indie game, you can say it feels like an indie game. Great example, Dave the Diver. Excellent indie game feel. but its more or less made by a giant corp. I'd still call it indie because of how it feels to play. Which I think is more important. As an indie can be as small as a one-person developer with no money or it can be a 500 person team at a company that has been around for almost 30 years (Larian), we definition need better definitions. I thinks SOLO INDIE, INDIE, and BIG INDIE. might help.
