The 15th century definition of brake was “an instrument for crushing or pounding.” Ultimately the term “brake” became synonymous with “machine,” derived over time from machines used to crush grain and plant fibers. So in its simplest form, a “pressing machine” and a “press brake” are one in the same.

The term “brake,” as used in modern sheet metal fabrication, comes from the Middle English verb breken, or break, which meant to bend, change direction, or deflect. You could also “break” when you drew back the string of a bow to shoot an arrow. You could even break a beam of light by deflecting it with a mirror.

Through a series of stuff there was eight of us in the cab on a dark rainy night. I was driving, the guy beside me was shifting and the guy on the far side was telling me what was going on that side. We passed a cop and someone called "cop, duck!" He quickly turned on his lights and pulled us over. Lots of hilarity followed especially when he walked up and said "You were doing nothing wrong, except that when you passed me the entire windshield was full of B**ts. Lol HooRay for fun times.

The Chemical plant I worked at had the perfect tool for cutting all of those switch holes. Our machine shop custom fabricated lots of things and one of them was tube sheets for rebuilding heat exchangers. Those tube sheets could be anywhere from 1/2” to 3” thick and could be carbon steel, 316 stainless, nickel, monel, or hastelloy and for years they drilled the holes with a drill bit in a vertical milling machine. It took days to drill 100 or more holes that way. Then they got a water cutter, what a game changer. That thing can blast out 100+ holes in a couple of hours with absolute precision and nobody had to watch it once it got started. If you find a machine shop or fabrication shop with one of those they could crank it out quick and cheap.

The verb “brake,” as used in sheet metal shops, comes from a Middle English verb that meant “to bend.” In modern use, a brake is a machine that bends. Around 1300, “presse” was used as a noun that meant “to crush or to crowd.” By the late 14th century, “press” had become a device for pressing clothes or for squeezing juice from grapes and olives. From this, “press” evolved to mean a machine or mechanism that applies force by squeezing. In a fabricator’s application, the punches and dies can be referred to as the “presses” that exert force on the sheet metal and cause it to bend.

Mad respect for all that wiring. I used to work on classic cars and I always hated fixing bad wiring. The dedication to doing it right is amazing. Salute you sir

I may be wrong but I believe marine ignition switches have allowances for the thicker gelcoat for a boat. So... might have been handy for Matts truck.

Correct, many marine ignition switches even fit panels up to 1" thick.

The term “brake,” as used in modern sheet metal fabrication, comes from the Middle English verb breken, or break, which meant to bend, change direction, or deflect. You could also “break” when you drew back the string of a bow to shoot an arrow. Play safe from Elliot Lake, Ontario, Canada.

Amber rock lights w/o the strobe is really cool! Leave it like that?

I was sorta surprised that you didn't use yellow wire for the amber and white wire for the white lights, but I guess those colors are used for something else already.

It's fun watching the difference in your style from Matt's. Great attention to detail. Can't wait to see the finished product.

My vote; More than one sticker is vandalism. One is fun, more is annoying. Love you guys..

If it wasn't for the encouragement from Robby and Matt I'd never have done the stickers as it is. At the wrecker games covering stickers already placed on vehicles that they planned for recycling was one thing. The continuation has only been for cinematic purposes and I have no plans to have it continue - Stacie

Hi Stacie, I enjoy watching your channel, as well as Mart, Robbie, and Paul. I love your content and your families. My sticker comment is just a personal preference. Thank you for the reply. Gary
