Very disappointed in the movie. The story line was weak and there was too much time spent on promoting the gay agenda. If they do another one I hope they do a better job.
Don't worry, Patricia. There was one brief scene in a gay "bar" of men dancing together, and a very brief scene of Mr. Ellis kissing Thomas. At that rate, that agenda aint going far.
After watching and absolutely loving the show, I thought Thomas' parts were great, although I have no idea why they focused on him so much. But I agree, the story was weak and would have probably been better suited as a Red Nose Day special, It felt like all the actors were rehearsing their characters all over again and the dialogue felt like it was from a video game. I love Downton Abbey and am still happy I got my fix by watching the movie, but other than that I wouldn't go and see it again, but for a fiver to watch it in the cinema, I won't complain
@@darladoxstater8528 Good for you, Darla. I think it's a term made up to intimidate people who don't understand that sexual preference is a simple matter of individual choice and not some incredible worldwide conspiracy.
I can't believe they've deleted the scene with Richard and Thomas. In my opinion it was necessary to understand the relationship they've built up. He's been my favourite character and always will be. He needs more appreciation! #teambarrow
It's a pity, it's seems they deleted key scenes that would have actually helped connect many dots in the storyline. Those slice of life scenes andeveryday life small conversations make DA special, the rawness of it and the attention to all the characters, upstairs or downstairs, and they chose to go without them.
@@PichuElric I feel bad for Thomas on this one. Imagine you just got promoted to be the new CEO of the company but only asked to step aside for the old CEO to come in and take your position just because they feel you are not up to the task to handle something. I would not just be slamming the door if I were him in this case.
I love the gay club scene and to see how it was for queer people back in the 1920s. Some ppl really wanna complain about the "gay agenda" for a total of what? Ten minutes? When we have six seasons and 1 movie mostly about the other main casts' straight relationships, breakups and marriages 💀. Also they made it perfectly clear that Thomas is gay from ep 1 and if that "agenda" upsets you so much maybe don't follow this franchise at all in the first place?
Lmfao I know the comment you're reffering too 😆 I also don't think it was forced like some movies but it gives a good perspective of the lives and struggles of many men in the past compared to now where you no longer have to hide or even get arrested for being gay. And I mean after all Thomas has gone through, I'm sure he finally deserves a happy romantic life. That line from Thomas "will they ever see it from our way" was written brilliantly
@@JackXFrost01 people still get arrested for being gay and gay people still faces discrimination and threats and no, gay people still has to hide because this society is fucked up. You should do more research instead of spending time on bloody animes.
It was so Nice to visit with theGranthams again!!! I dearly wish that they had left these scenes in!!! 😇🤗😇🤗……….Any opportunity to visit see these wonderful characters is pure delight!!! 🤗🤗
They should have at least left in the stuff with Ms. Lawton and Anna for the sake of context. Wished they would have left in that scene with Thomas and Richard as well because they are adorable and I will die for them. The other scenes I can understand though. \
I can't believe that this thread has gone on for two years about a "gay agenda" and the utter dislike people have for each other about a character in a story. Goodness, live your lives! It was a tv show/movie for entertainment. If you don't like it, don't watch it.
Nope, not there unless you look at the "deleted scenes" section of the DVD. I own it, lol. BTW, there were more deleted scenes too. One I remember where the Bates' talked about their B & B they hoped to open near Downton so they could stay in touch with the family I wish they would release the DVDs with deleted scenes inserted in the story as you watch it unless they deleted a scene because it was subpar. Usually scenes are deleted because of time constraints. People no longer want to watch a movie that is longer than 2 hours. It would be so good if we could buy a movie for home viewing with added scenes to flesh the story out more. Some of us do not mind if a movie goes over 2 hours.
:P they kinda tried to cram in a lot of things in one movie hehe they could have turned this into S7 instead and executed it properly with 10 episodes, making The Christmas episode the departure of 'The Dowager Countess' and giving the series a sweet closure *sigh* movie was sorta disappointing and Mary's hideous bob being cherry on the top.. let's see what the second movie has to offer.
See that's the thing. Maggie's sick again :/ She's had a history of cancer and there's a rumour going she might have it again. So Im not sure a season 7 would be doable
The first scene, with Carson appearing, and explaining why he was taking over as Head Butler again, should have been left in. It is a good scene, and gives pertinent information. Poor editing, and a weak script...sadly, the movie was a disappointment.
@@lapernice6978 But that still wouldn't confer a title, would it? I'm thinking her (our) only hope is that she eventually marries little George and becomes Countess of Grantham. (But she'd be marrying her first cousin, so maybe not.)
I am probably going to anger many viewers but Mr Bates is the most boring and annoying character on this show. I could hardly keep my eyes open when he was on even though he had some of the best storylines. I just dont know what Anna saw in him. I get it he was kind and thoughtful but he could be very full of himself. Compare to every other character on the show he just could never hold my interest
