When some folks showed me dowsing rods like you have there (about 45 years ago), the rods were brass. Just held them in my hands without the bushings like you have there. When I walked over a waterpipe that was under the floor the rods would cross, step backwards and the rods would un-cross; I could stand right above the waterpipe and step forward, and step backward, back and forth. I thought that was pretty cool.

Had a rancher in our area that was renowned for his water finding abilities. Found me three dry holes and cost me eleven thousand dollars for nothing. The driller felt so bad for me that ( unbeknownst to me ) drilled a well where he thought I should have and hit water at 30 ft. 15 gallons a minute. Best phone call I ever got. Said ,he didn't believe in water dousers!

I stopped by another drilling company cutting a hole last week in a known dry area, they had cut 2 dry wells to 500ft already. I pointed across the rd & said your neighbor has 5 dry wells. The "water Witcher" charged the home builder $300 & was wrong.

It's always nice when you have a team mate there with you that is in perfect step with you. When you get that rythem going after a few jobs where you dont need to even say a word. You each know exactly what the other is doing and can just keep in line getting things done fast and efficiant. When I worked construction and manual labor doing various things, there was a few people that I would just click with and we would just be in lock step and able to work together, knowing what was needed and could just move along and get things done with no issues or hang ups.

I really enjoy watching your videos and have learned a lot about wells in the process. Please do not discredit yourself with dowsing videos. As a kid, I was taught dowsing worked with metal rods and some type of tree branches. I could not figure out why I could not get it to work. Luckily, the internet came along and the BBC competition that others have mentioned. Dowsing is just BS based on ignorance (lack of knowledge) and the fact in many areas you are likely to hit water just about anywhere. Unfortunately, not where I live and I learned this lesson the costly way. It makes for cool entertainment, there is just nothing scientific about it.

I dowsed my own well. My well guy wouldn't. He just came out and dropped a flag according to the open tree line. He recommended someone to do it. I didn't want to pay for it. I was able to find 2 crossing readings. Marked a "x", he drilled over it. Hit water at 240 ft. Drill to 300 ft. We got 15 gpm. But I was scared. It worked out. I saw videos were guys claim to tell you depth and gpm. I am not that good. But I am a believer in dowsing. I have found sewer mains and water services with it. I work in the drilling industry doing geotechnical, environmental, water well drilling. Every site we drill is thoroughly located for underground utilities by a locating company before we drill. We keep a set of what we call witching rods but the same as dousing rods on the drill for fun and can find utilities in the ground using just the rods. I have found utilities in the ground and then had the locater find them in basically the same spot using ground penetraring radar. Don’t know how it works but I proven dozens of people wrong on site haha

Do yourself a favor and get rid of the copper rods find a fresh green willow branch that at lest 3/8" thick an in good Y . Hold the 2 arms of the Y one in each hand with a bit of a tight grip an wrist twist. You get a reallt strong bend strait down when you walk over a big stream in the bed rock. An a crossing of another. Then you can walk around that spot to pin point how many streams cross that point. I done more for dug wells 20 to 35' deep. That runs in a seam of corse gravel or white sand.

I am considering drilling a well. First of all, no one around here for miles with a well But I did hear some water running at one time, and I doused it and it said water a stream, As there was a long line going in one direction I have to drill this myself, since i do not have the funds to hire someone. Can you tell me how i will know the difference when i get water. I am following close to an idea seen online, And with this method , they said you can go down a few hundred feet. But I have only the funds to go possibly 80 feet, I know there is a few ponds around with some clear water, on the surface, So i would expect, water to not be too deep. Any suggestions or advice, Will i be able to sink a hole down 80 feet, then drop my casing in without it expected to collapse I made a bit that water can be forced down to the bit, and a top piece to inject the water / and am using 3/4 black steel as my drill rod And after the hole is done, I plan to use that rod to bring the water up with. I did note a fellow several miles from me has a shallow well and they have the best water around. Most house are several miles apart. Should i use a clay mud in the hole while drilling to help holed the sides of the well while drilling. Or can it be done safely or should i suspect a collapse, Soils around here a basically clay

The idea is the a break in the ground disrupts the natural magnetic pull in that specific area, it doesn't mean there's water, it means there is an anomaly underground. Dowsing has been proven to be 50% accurate. But 95% of water wells provide good water, so logically people perceive that Dowsing is a proven tool to find water, it isn't.

If anyone could help that’d be greatly appreciated. My pressure tank takes 10 minutes to fill from 40psi-60psi with no fixtures running and if I run any fixtures the pump can't keep up with the water going to the pressure tank and will drop to 0 psi and I have to use my low water cut off switch to get water back. I turned off the valve right after the pressure tank leading to the house and it holds steady pressure in the guage at 60 psi which makes me think there's no leak in well line or well pump. I had someone out to check the pump and they said it's reading 5.5 amps which they said is correct for my 1/2 hp submersible pump and all electrical seems to be good in the control box and switch Anyone have an idea of what might be happening ? Yea, because that pump can't lift water past 40ft deep, your water level is at 80. I have tested pumps just like yours and explained it. Remove the pump, send it back and go buy a quality 10 gpm pump. If a pump says 160ft max head or 30gpm it's not ment for a well, it's ment to go in a cistern because there's no head pressure

I feel SO LUCKY. I inherited a 48 acre parcel thought to be Dry Land. The Historic Spring had decreased from 1200 gal a DAY to just 300. No need to witch it. Only one spot where a rotary well rig could set up at. Fortunately it was at the confluence of a plateau where 2 mountains about 500 feet higher summits came together. I ended up bottoming about 880 feet below both summits Drilling started at 915 am. And by 400 pm 45 gpm at 360 feet. I decided to do """another final 20 feet"" ....and another 8 / 10 gpm hit 12 feet into final 20 feet at level 372. I cut it off at 383 feet While I hit bedrock at 50 feet, I still elected to PVC case and gravel pack it clear from 383 ft bottom to the 30 feet surface bentonite/ concrete surface seal. . On day of drilling Static level was 103 feet. The 3 hp submersible pump was set at 360 feet to prevent sediment from covering the final 372 foot hit. The foreman strongly recommended a full gravel pack with the pump set just above final 8 /10 gpm hit to avoid sediment covering it up over time. EXPENSIVE but I understood the reasoning behind it. The day the pump was installed static level had risen to 90 feet. Then 5 000 gallons a day pulled up at pumping rate of 35 gpm. About 3 months later a bedrock blow out into the gravel packing did occur ( cloudy water ) with another 10 foot rise in static level to 80 feet. The full length gravel pack saved what could have been a catastrophic event. I'm pumping 35 gpm; With 5,000 to 7,500 gallons a day pull out. Absolutely NO CHANGE in static level at 80 feet; even when pulling out 35 gpm. In a area where 5-8 gpm would have been considered a gusher.......... MIRACLES DO OCCUR !!!! But....I did ""dry up"'" neighbors 2 springs. One a 1/4 mile away. The other 1/2 mile. Along with another neighbors marginal 5 gpm well 3/4 mile away. My geologist explained that the aquifer was under pressure and bedrock fractures brought water to surface. And my well blew out the pressure needed for them to pop fluids to surface 😢😢😢 ( not really ) I truly hit the Lottery !

I actually saw someone use dousing to find a buried water line and he nailed it 🤷‍♂. I have no idea how it works, but it seems to actually work 🤯. But I'd also agree with your (or maybe it was another commenter) 'you don't miss it by a foot' statement when talking about well drilling. Looking for a buried pipe, yeah, I can see that, but drilling a well? Not so much.

If a well company came to my house with dowsing rods, I'd turn you right back around and find an actual professional

Yupp. After the last few vids where he shows that he can walk around with 2 sticks that move when you dont keep your hands level, he is done for me. It's pure bullshit. They tried to prove it, it's always been a 50% chance. So bullshit.

It's not like he ignored the owners - he drilled right where they wanted it basically. He was just doing it for kicks.

@@firefly2472 that’s one way to let everyone know you didn’t watch his videos or listen to a word he said, instead you decided to be a dipshit that assumes and talk out of your ass.

Rods pick up the earth magnetic feild, anything blocking that will give a pull on the rods.

Diviners made (and still make) money off of how ignorant people are about what aquifers are and how they work. Many people think they are just localized springs.

We saw one the other day using his hand & says the center of his pale gets warm. 5 days later & 2 500ft dry wells he claimed the driller missed it by a ft 😆. I think people just want to believe in something (a force) they can't see.

Make a jig that holds both handles parallel to each other at all times. This way, if the rods really do work (and you are tipping them without realizing it) the rods will still cross. Does that make sense? If they don't work then each rod will or should go in the same direction as the other.

I believe in dowsing as my late father did it a lot. With the stick and the rods. But I don’t understand. His road went apart as they came across a vein of water. Every video I see on You Tube they cross.
