Basically, when we compare Xiao, Itto, and Eula, the character that come out on top in terms of DPS is Raiden Shogun :D

The 2.4 abyss run felt like itto was competing against 2 Raidens instead if xiao and eula XD.

We can say that EULA's nuking potential send CHILLS down the spine

You use Eula's kit to her intended use and potential (stacking and backloading damage, if the enemies have a slow windup animation where they get up, it is SUPPOSED to favor Eula, and you can't discount that just so other characters can compete. Even if you started the timer during the invul phase of the primo vishap, it would just add 7+ seconds to everyone, eula will still nuke it the moment its resistance are down, so imo your metric is fine, eulas kit is just amazing at abusing some bosses. Shes weaker against multi phase bosses, but Raiden covers that perfectly in combination with Eula.

I personally think the timing method is ok for Eula for the fact that she can start building stacks during invulnerable windows. That’s something to consider when you use her

The fact that Xiao wasn't even far off even with his issues brings a tear to my eye

Ah yes, the limited 5* ungas that fulfill all 3 of the attack variant ungas. Xiao ungas from the sky (plunge) Itto ungas from the land (charged) and Eula ungas in general (normal)

Eula’s damage is so frontloaded it *feels* unfair, but when you think about it it’s really reasonable. Eula can build stacks during invulnerable phases. It’s part of her kit and anyone with a eula can do it. It’d be more unfair to nerf Eula and not use her how intended just for a more “fair” time. Great work as always!!

I love how the top dps characters sre characters that dont require reactions. Yes they require good supports to make them great but Non Vape/Melt teams are really healthy actually

Raiden shogun C2 is insanely OP that getting her C2 meaning you basically got a C6 5 star

I think that raiden was used a lot in the abyss but I really enjoyed seeing eula dominate with her 0.7 second times

Just the fact that Eula is the only one here that actually can utilize Raiden due to her shorter burst window and insanely good synergy with literally EVERYTHING that Raiden has in her kit says a lot already. You can't be powercrept if your the best partner for an archon (which only gets better with constellations) not even talking about DPS which is pretty obvious, just team building, Eula is the only one who does not need someone dedicated. She doesn't need a specific electro to apply superconduct, she doesn't need a specific battery, unlike Hu Tao who needs Xingqiu without a replacement or Itto who needs Gorou which no other geo can replace. She's also the most team flexible character as you don't need to worry about her as much to make her good (compared to Ayaka who only excels in freeze teams) I've seen people run Eula in a melt national variation even and dominate speedrun rankings. It's just insane Edit: Also to point out some of the parts in the video which were unfair to Eula. First the builds, Eula had the worst crit ratio out of all three of them and this is a big issue because out of them 3, she scales the most with better artifacts. The gap would be wider in every category if the artifacts were better. In Overworld where Eula won every single fight, his Eula never used food (see the bathysmal vishap fight. If the other 2 didnt use food, they might not have been able to beat both enemies in 9 seconds and once one of them jumps away, speedrunning is pointless. this is the reason why shintenzu intentionally used food on Xiao which IWTL followed suit with Itto) Moreover, in the geovishap fight, if IWTL removed Zhongli's shield, Eula would still one shot it. This is an issue to the other two who can't shred resistance by themselves and would have lead to longer clear times for both of them (add to the fact that always putting zhongli shield negates the advantage of Eula's burst having super armor-- then again doesn't matter because of the timing methodology) In the abyss, the run by Mr. 89 for 2.3 rotation was a great speedrun and showed unparalleled synergy between the Eula+Ei in continuous runs where having dual hypercarry is the way to go (it's the only real dual hypercarry comp right now that's not for showcase and actually comfy to use regardless of constellations) Both Itto and Xiao are not made to be in a dual carry team with issues like long burst duration and low downtime. Specifically C6 Itto which has almost no downtime, with caveat that both his C2 and Gorou requires more geo in the team. Continuing in the 2.4 abyss run, it was obvious that the entire top half was unfair to Eula with everyone having massive physical resistance. Literally every chamber. Itto faced the same issue in the second chamber with primo geovishap, but being disadvantaged in one chamber is not the same as on all chambers (and the abyss blessing compensated heavily on damage) The last thing is that IWTL showed a "Cryo Eula" run for the final comparison which is fine but if he did a Eula focused team ( like instead of Sara+Kazuha, he put Bennett+Rosaria or even remove Raiden core for another Eula-centric team) then IWTL could have shown the capabilities of Eula even without Raiden instead of using an obvious meme team that is only viable with a C6 Shenhe.

I really just want to thank you for these quality dps showdowns! As well as for your other videos too! You and your videos really help a lot of players to pick which character they would pull for and how to maximize their characters’ potential.

I'd say itto did really goddam well in 2.3 abyss against eula considering the geovishaps resist geo and the rifthounds resisting any element, though eula didn't have this problem cuz raiden. Edit:Some people just can't understand I was praising itto,not saying it was unfair for him,or that eula or raiden had an advantage.

C6 Xiao is such a delight to watch he has the most satisfying play style of any character. Kinda sad he is held back by not having a perfect fit support and a dedicated artifact set.

Alot of people are saying Eula's way of measuring is unfair but it's the same thing as using Xiao with R5 homa and starting with below 50% hp.

Eula's stack building before the enemy is vulnerable is an inherent advantage of her backloaded burst. I think its only fair to consider that

When Xiao eventually gets an artifact set, it will probably include recharging a pretty big chunk of his burst on activation

Hiiii, I have been waiting for this video for so long. Thank you for all the effort that everyone put into this:) Generally speaking, I really like this dps showdown video. I can understand your reasoning behind most of the methodologies other than the last portion of the video. I was also one of the people who agreed/voted that raiden can be used in eula team. But my expectation was having her as just a battery and have all the other support supporting eula (because she is the carry). I think it will be much better if the supports brought into the teams are not sara and kazuha (bc they support raiden more than they do eula/xiao), and instead someone like zhongli and c6 rosaria which leans more towards supporting eula for example. It’s more acceptable imo. Other than that, I’m perfectly fine:) once again thank you soo much!

Why are people salty Eula is winning? It is not her fault that she is best pair with raiden. If no raiden, Eula Beidou Fishcl Diona also can be used. With Diona Noblese, and Fishcl Tenacity.

I kind of want to see more Ayaka in your DPS showdown, with Schene support i am really curious how she would compare.

Ppl in the comments saying “Why is this vid a Raiden showcase?” Well This is how Raiden - Eula team comp works ( for whales ) Eula Q boom , Raiden Q - chamber cleared Then Raiden again - chamber cleared Raiden again and Eula has her burst back + Q and finish

Fastest way to clear abyss with Xiao : doing it with Raiden. And still there are some people who think he should not have a dedicated set/weapon or a support. Honnestly the fact that he can't produce particules during burst is garbage/lazy design just because of C6. The particules should be produced if C6 is not active.

What learned from this video: I need to save up for Raiden c2 lol. The abyss Eula+Raiden run for me is like Eula providing off field support damage to a hyper carry Raiden, and I love it. XD

I think the current system is fine it'll be impossible to get a metric that will be fait the all characters considering each character has different strengths and weakness great video tho although I just wish Raiden wasn't there she stole the show I remember losing my 50/50😭😭

The method for timing Eula is fine, she is the exception when compared to other characters, and is part of her kit.

I’ve recently got Itto and I had Eula And it made me realize how flexible physical dmg is. Yeah there isn’t too much geo invulnerable opponents but I still noticed how annoying it is to deal with them😭😭

as a xiao main i would've rather seen xiao main dps having slower runs than itto or eula than seeing xiao used as a viridescent support for raiden and you calling it a "xiao run". i have never, ever seen anyone intentionally play xiao like that so it looked really unfair. yeah, xiao may not be as good as the other two, but that abyss run was just raiden vs itto vs eula and didn't seem to prove any point whatsoever. I guess i'm a little mad, but I genuinely love your content mate so all I can say is I'm disappointed in that abyss run and hope you could've addressed it better, maybe even used someone else like shintenzu's runs for 2.4 instead of doing it yourself because you not being used to playing xiao gets even more evident in that specific run. again, no hate, i tune into your videos within minutes of their release but just my thoughts

I think you should start counting when the boss aggros you, since Abyss starts counting when you start the challenge, even before the invincibility frames for the boss.

I dunno about Xiao as a VV support unit. At that point, you might as well use anemo traveler as the constellation reduces the enemy resistances even further. Knowing it's a main dps showdown, using Xiao as a support is kinda cheating imo as the optimal way to use Eula is indeed with Xiao but the optimal way for Xiao is with Bennett and that's it. Outside of that, a very well informative video!

There's a lot of ego posting goung around This is how eula works, nothing more, nothing less. Watching 13s vs 0.20s doesn't mean itto/xiao are 60 times worse than eula. They have completely different methods of delivering damage or batterying up, along with their respective weaknesses

I love how the non-Abyss segments were almost completely just renditions of: Guy with stopwatch: "Alright, on your marks. Get set. G-" Eula: "I'm done. They're dead."

I was fine with Xiao being a support since your content usually focuses on speedrunning perspectives. I think the issue with defining a support vs DPS in this situation is that Raiden is both in a Eula team. To support the team, Raiden has to take up field time dealing DPS. So having Xiao as a support is probably a little different than having him as a DPS, even though I think it was fine to do so.

At first I pull Eula and Raiden because I like Eula and using fish as a support doesn't seem cool. I didn't know that I'm pulling for a demon.

personally i think that the timing should be done when characters are swapped in. i get that a lot of people in the comments are like "its just a part of what makes eula good", which is fair, but i feel as if its a more accurate and informative measurement if it's once a character is swapped in. just my opinion tho :)

Continues nerf before releasing Xiao is really hurting him now. No energy when in burst, can't dash after plunge etc. Hope they remove those and at the same time have a good anemo support, not just for plunge because that's not gonna help if he's c6.

if xiao gets an artifact set I hope it addresses his energy recharge during his burst. that or an anemo support that creates plenty of energy for him when they are off the field while also decreasing anemo resistance

in the end, it turned to Raiden showdown and not a xiao and Eula showdown, which while i adore Raiden, I'm not a big fan of this. This exist to show the pluses and minuses of the characters as the focus of their team. for example, the xiao dps showcase turned to a xiao support showcase, which it shouldn't of. and Eula's dps showcase was fully shared with raiden, who is the other mega burst damage character in the game.

Eula+Raiden team totally blow my mind. Usually in a team have Main dps, Sup dps, or support but in Eula team have 2 Main dps tho. Raiden hit like a truck damm

I think eula should be able to perfarm stacks on enemies while they're invincible, its not like its some completely out of the way thing to do, and its part of her innate kit just like how a ranged dps like Ganyu could outdo Eula easily in some situations just due to having a bow I agree with starting the timer during the invulnerability tho, it would've been that way if you were challenging abyss

These videos from IWTL are for fun, even explains it in his disclaimers for every video, and should never be used as examples when you're trying to form an opinion on a character's strength level for the average account. Do you all really think this is what the average performance for these characters look like? I see a lot of you basing your opinions of characters off of this video.

if anything i think this should highlight the need for mihoyo to add some sort of support character for Xiao. Possibly a character that is a particle generator or a character that allows anemo characters the ability to infuse an element during their attacks but not it being swirl. However, these additions will be unlikely to happen.

I think Eula building stacks is fair cuz you still lose that time when doing abyss. Her being able to use that dead time is the same as support precasting buff to avoid losing time. No one just wait for the boss to be vulnerable to do anything stop coping

Maybe should have listed a hypercarry Raiden time to compare... though that would kinda just invalidate the competition, lol. Good stuff!

Man I love Raiden Shogun!!!! I can't wait for you to test Ayaka + Shenhe next. I feel Ayaka Shenhe at whale levels are 1 of the top 2 teams in the game now along with raiden teams. I mean now ayaka doesn't need energy to do massive damage. She can even do 100k autos like it's nothing now.

I've gotten familiar with cryo Xiao while friendship farming for Xiao, Shenhe and Chongyun together... What I'd like to see is how to actually build cryo Xiao best. So far I've just let him be on 2p viridescent + 2p gladiator and let Shenhe help him deal better cryo damage. I suppose I might not actually use this team comp outside of random over world shenanigans, but I'm still genuinely intrigued by it.

I run a Eula C0/R1 - Raiden C2/The Catch. It’s a double carry team. Eula deals around 800/900K during her burst rotation, every 2 Raiden rotation for 450K each. They are the most (and probably the only) couple of DPS that can fight together summing up instead of stealing time each other. The only other couple that comes to my mind is Ayaka-Ganyu. That works, just not so damn smoothly as Eula and Raiden. My team is Eula - Raiden - Bennett core, then C6 Rosaria if I want to focus on Eula, C6 Sara for Raiden, C6 Fischl for both.

I'm a Xiao user since 1.3. And I had a moment the other day where I considered... the *best possible team for my C0 Xiao* ... is with him using VV as support for someone else.

for someone who pull and get Xiao hes still good and has potential Mihoyo just need to make a Artifacts for him and a support because right now Mihoyo is buffing normal attack character by the use of Yunjin lets wait for them to give him support and artifacts maybe next 4* or 5* character will buffs plunge attack

id like to see 2 times, one when characters are allowed to "set up" before the timer starts, and one when they have to "set up" once the timer starts/the timer starts when they take action(without the enemy's action)
