CLARIFICATIONS: Does the cream in my coffee and xylitol break the fast? A tiny bit, very insignificantly. I found that my ketones only drop a fraction and for 30 minutes. Exercise Routine: I do daily biking, up hills. Tuesday and Thursday are my hardcore intense exercise (45 min). On those days I do not do biking - only walking. Liquids: It depends on thirst but I do drink around 2 liters per day, maybe more if I am sweating a lot. I do add more lemon and ACV as well. Vitamins are D3/K2, Wheatgrass Juice Powder, Electrolytes and Mitochondrial Energy right now. I will do the fat-soluble vitamins with the first meal, the others in the am when I drink some water with lemon. Restaurants: I am cautious about where I go. Too many hidden things like soy oil, etc. I will usually order wild caught salmon, big salad or some higher quality meats. I do not do the soups, etc. I am also cautious about too much spinach and almonds - high in oxalates. What about the anti-nutrients in vegetables? I do a lot of regular but high-quality lettuce leaves. Any anti-nutrients may act like a little stress, but a little stress is ESSENTIAL. In fact, this positive stress (from exercise, sun-light UV light, fasting, ketosis, AND anti-nutrients) causes the body to adapt and become stronger. Its called hormesis. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hormesis
Hey Dr. Berg. Could you maybe talk a little about high Copper and Kale? Was thinking to maybe cut the Kale a bit but now I see too much Spinach isn't the way to go either ayayay. And do you think with daily veggie "smoothies" the fiber intake could be too high? So maybe do juices(lowsugar) to breakfast meals?
Thanks, Dr. Berg! I find that macadamia nuts are super great to get into ketosis with, and they add a huge amount of calories if you want to keep weight on! 🙂
I modeled my daily food intake regiment as closely to Dr. Bergs diet and have now gone from 345lbs. In mid November 2020, to 259 lbs March 20, 2021, 86 lbs. lost in 19 weeks. That is about 4 lbs. per week. Tickled pink.
I wish people that have RU-vid Channels would be as articulate, prepared, and present information like Dr. Berg. This video should be used in colleges and schools to teach others how to communicate effectively. Thank you Dr. Berg!
When I was in my 20's & 30's I drank a lot of well water, vitamins, wheat germ, exercised a lot, usually aerobics or walking daily, didn't really eat a lot but I was healthy & strong & needed 6 hrs sleep & could chase after 4 kids, one who was severely disabled (which is why I needed to be strong) kept my house spotless, worked & looked 10 yrs younger than I was. Now I'm 58 with spine problems & severe pain. You inspire me to try better now. Thank you.
I’m sorry to hear about your spine problems. I started having issues in early thirties with my back and discovered low sugar diet, swimming and weight lifting help me to manage my condition. Praying you find the right people to help you gain better health and improve mobility.
I grew up with back pains (scoliosis), I saw a lot of Chiropractors etc and they would fix it (by adjusting the spine) temporarily but it would come back a few weeks later. It wasn't til I was 21 and I saw a good remedial massage therapist that really fixed my back. It got me into studying massage etc, and my back problem was a muscle issue not skeletal.
Finally I can copy THE EXACT eating plan! I like all the foods mentioned, too many choices just creates confusion and deciding what to buy and what to eat everyday is killing me so I often end up in fast food😩I have no problem doing same food over and over again. Thanx Dr. Berg!
@@shepherdboy9692 I meal prep. Make four salads at a time for lunches, cook taco meat, roast a lot of vegetables and freeze them in 4-meal quantities, sauté kale and freeze it in 4-meal quantities. I cook meat, slice it, and freeze it in baggies with enough for one dinner. Preparing dinner consists of transferring veg from the freezer to the fridge twice a week, deciding which meat or soup I’m going to have, and moving it from freezer to fridge the day before.
@@TheMorphrick I ended up buying packaged meats (like 100-150g packages) or grilled chicken or canned or packaged fish and some cheese for each meal, salads when possible or just avocado. You can buy that is every single shop whenever you need. Did only 1-2 meals a day too. I started losing weight right away.
Dr. Berg is a bright light in the dark tunnel. A person with vast knowledge of Food and health. We are blessed having him on youtube otherwise gem like him are so expensive. Thank you Dr. Berg
I'm a Pakistani here, but seriously I wish I could listen to you forever, such a sophisticated and warm personality you have and a well maintained diet I must appreciate you. It brings so much motivation and energy..❤️
I just started doing 20:4 I.F after doing 18:6 for months. And honestly it's not that day. I eat one meal a day, I can actually see the results as I suffer from PCOS and no amount of diet and exercise helped me but just by doing intermittent the right way I lost like 22lbs in 2 months. Dr. Berg is such a blessing. 🤗💕🤞
What foods do you eat for meals? I'm pretty sure I have PCOS, and have been trying to figure out how to get it under control. I just finished a week of 16:8 and found I gained a lb 😭. So I'm trying to figure out what to eat...
Congratulations. Is intermittent fasting for people who want to lose weight ?l am very slim,I have very little body fat, so why doing fasting, actually I really love my breakfast(2 eggs, organic NON pasteurised cheese, and organic rye bread, coffee)and it would be difficult to skip it. For what benefit? We should all eat healthily, but eating should also pleasurable.I don't feel Doctor Berg get much pleasure from his eating and fasting, just discipline. Fine, but I am not convinced. That suits him, which is great,.That may not suit everybody...We are all different. So beware...do not follow blindlessly a doctor, who happens to be very articulate and knowledgable, while biased at the same time.
I’ve been doing OMAD for almost two months….never thought I’d be able to pull it off. Unreal after three days or so I honestly am not hungry, and have no desire to eat more than once….just like he says. Glad I gave it a go!
I am from Ethiopia we Have different kind of food than American food , it is so delicious which is very healthy I do it my way but in Moderat pretty much vegetables I’m not a meat lover at all once in a while I can eat fish , cooking is my passion pretty much I cook at home I learn a lot from you thank you so much Dr. stay blessed 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💕
@Candy C have you tested yourself for ketones? how do you know you're actually in ketosis? carbs are carbs; it's still sugar, which needs to be accounted. NET carbs is a different idea, as you're trying to limit the amount of excess carbs that aren't balanced with fiber.
I just went thru neck throat cancer surgery funny how when the student is ready the teacher will appear / dr berg videos started popping up like crazy / soooo glad they did ... awesome totally awesome !!!
Not boring at all! I had done this before but forgot the structure of it. Thank you Dr. Eric Berg as I'm now on a very determined keto diet due to I need to get my BMI down to 30 or 32 in order to be a live liver donor for my husband who will not live if his liver is not replaced. Also I needed to do it anyways. Struggled with weight all my adult life and especially after my gallbladder was removed it seemed to become a real issue at that point. Everyone keep us in prayers. Ketosis is definitely a God sent.
I noticed in many of the comments that some people are hung-up on minute details such as "vitamins on an empty stomach" or "cream in your coffee breaks your fast". I suppose that if you are a big picture person, those details may not be so important. Some folks can sit at the "Red Robin" and plow down a 3500 calorie meal for $30 and be hungry again in 2 or 3 hours. AND they succumb to that hunger and make additional bad eating choices. I did this in the past. It takes concentration and determination to reach a goal. Learn to concentrate your energy on becoming healthy. The opposite of this is distraction. And we all know about distraction, don't we? I always tell my loved ones when they make the excuses to me, "You are not lying to me, you are lying to yourself." That is all!
That used to be me. Eat out, come home and raid the fridge. I now know why I was like that. Restaurant meals are void of ANY nutrition. Now I focus on nutrient density in my meals.
I've been watching Dr. Berg videos for 3 months non stop. I've learned soooo much and my sugar levels are normal! My body feels way less inflamed...I used to be a carboholic. I've lost 26lbs too. Dr. Berg you are the best!!!!💖 Thank you sooo much for your enlightenment!! :)
Dr Berg : I eat Bacon Me: yaaay... Dr Berg : not the one you might think Me : oooh Dr Berg : I also like burger Me : alright.... Dr Berg : not the one you might think Me : damn Dr Berg : But I also eat hot dog Me: yessss..... Dr Berg : not the one you might think Me : (__!)
Diogenes II I don’t think it matters how long it took- it’s just good that he’s shown us now. I imagine it’s taken him a while to figure out his eating pattern and what works for him etc, he probably didn’t want people to see his personal eating plan as ‘gospel’ too- wanted to help people make up their own minds.
Thank you for sharing Dr. Berg. I do very much the same thing, but I do have desert. 5 Raspberries, 5 Blackberries 10 blueberries. I add 1/3 of a cup of nuts (macadamia, walnuts pecan and almonds. All raw). I put a dash of cinnamon on them and 2 tea spoon of MCT oil.
Thank God I was just egg omelet twice a day, that's why I felt hungry after few hours, now I will add more to my meals so I could fast more efficiently, thanks doc ❤️
Your routine and choices are very similar to my own. . . Although, your exercise routine mentioned is beyond my disabled capabilities. Keto is an amazing tool. I've lost 88 lbs so far. (About 8-10 a month on average.) Thanks for sharing!
In the same way… I don’t need a bunch of variety. I’ll find a few things that I really like and make those my daily meals. Also makes grocery shopping *sooooo* much simpler!
I find these examples of "what I eat" very instructive and informative. Dr. Berg eats 4 eggs, bacon, olives, cheese, 7 oz meat/fish a day, plus nuts. I would say that is too much fat. But he always looks great and really exudes energy and vitality. So that has a big impact on me in terms of being able to be comfortable eating fat and animal products with a big salad of veggies.
His body is running on fat not carbs so it’s healthy and keeps you fuller longer. If you combine a lot of carbs and fats like in fast food restaurants that’s how you get fat
Norma Fisher figure out how much you currently spend and start with that amount. Because you’ll be eat less meals and less snacking you’ll have more money for better quality foods. Make sure you are going to produce stands, farmers markets and independent growers. We get our eggs from a friend and pay a third or quarter what the grocery store charges. No hormones, no GMO, free range and cheaper.
These fancy organic foods aren't available all over the world. Besides Dr Berg must be loaded and can have pellegrino water and the likes but for he should also remember that normal people watch his channel and he should recommend alternatives.
@@TGOINC He didn't makes the content for someone who can afford to have organic food, he just stating the facts that organic and pasteurized food are better because it's higher quality food. In my area pasteurized eggs are hard to find so i eat just "regular" eggs but I get what he said. The fact that he share this knowledge for free is a gift for me so I appreciate that and just do whatever I can to be healthier.
That diet outline is a window to see what a 6'2" 180 lb man eats to healthfully sustain that weight. For a 5' 8" 165 lb woman looking to lose some weight and regulate blood sugar this is great outline, remembering that smaller portion control is critical. And you've confirmed I (and perhaps lots of others) am on track. Thankyou.
Is actually priceless post! Thanks for allowing us into your kitchen 😍 You just gave me assurance that I'm mainly on the right track and just need some adjustments! Thank you, thank you 🤗
63yr female, eat Keto foods between 2PM-7PM . Jan.2019 for health purposes to July, lost 36 lbs slowly (eat a lot of veggies), from size 12 now 8 or smaller, feel great, look good, skin, Energy, strength and very happy! Thankyou Dr. Berg
I've watched so many of your videos, that now; with the world gone insane; I watch them just to calm myself down. It's nice to focus on things we can control. Like amazing health. And learn, always learning. Thank you so much.
Most helpful Keto tip I got from his channel I was eating too much protein and my body was making sugar, I cut back on the protein portions and the weight fell off like I was in my early twenties and I’m 46 now.
Love that you are honest....I could never stick to this, I'd break down after three months and destroy two pizzas and a cheese cake and probably cry myself to sleep in a fetal ball in the corner. Trying to find that happy medium is hard, but I really appreciate the open honest approach to your diet, it's helping me find what works for me.
Thank you, that helps me a lot. I'm 6' 2" and I use to be 180 lb. and I enjoyed that now I'm 245 lb and I'm loosing weight but I'm miserable. So I'm going to try and eat what you eat and excersize and see if in time I can get back to 180 or under 200
You re giving us the best advices Dr .,it's a pleasure watching your videos.I m doing fasting for almost 3 years partly, feeling great and full of energy
I have been 23/1 fasting for almost 3 years now. The first 2 months I lost 10 kg of my weight and then it has just stayed at the weight so far (a little swing). Anyway, just thinking of one time a day of what to eat has been such a good benefit saving a lot of time and brain.
I've been binging on your videos lately. Thanks for teaching me so much. I've just a question. Why don't you prepare your own vinaigrette? It's very easy and you're guaranteed no sugar. Also, unless you pay a thousand dollars, what you use is not balsamic vinegar. Just one example of vinaigrette: 2 tbsp extravirgin olive oil, 1 tbsp wine or apple vinegar, 1/2 tsp salt, a pinch of pepper, a pinch of turmeric. Thanks again
I’m starting the keto diet 11/26/2021 when I get paid, thanks to you. I’ll comment back in a year. Starting weight: 188 lbs, 5’4. A little side note: My grandma was around 200+ pounds before starting Keto thanks to you. She’s no healthy as ever, an amazing weight, and grows her own vegetables. She told me about your channel when I went to visit her in Tennessee. My diet has been absolute ass- I’m 20 yrs old and I’m tired of feeling like crap because of what I eat. I’m very picky and I’m afraid of trying new foods (It’s all psychological). But luckily I like a lot of what you’ve mentioned on the healthy keto diet. Thank you for your videos! I’m going to checkout your book too!
I don't mean to seem like a know it all but I been eating keto most of my life b4 keto was even keto . I'm 50 next year and people say I look like I'm in my 30s😍😍😍
This is pretty much what I do. Thanks for confirming that I am on the right track. Easy food, expensive but less hassle to prepare. Starting crossfit training soon. It'll be awesome.
If you are doing keto you will get to that point I started at 230 I am now at 160 and I never in my life thought I would be there I love Dr.Berg his videos helped me reverse diabetes
Me too. I love eggs and green sweet pepper fried in butter for breakfast and any meat or fish and salad for lunch with a cup of frozen berries twice a week. Dinner is herbal tea. Mmmmm
@@gardeninginthedesert i love hot veggies I can eat broccoli all day with no seasoning and I always make cauliflower something, but the Mac n cheese is my fav
Does anyone else watch the commercials so I'd feel like I'm at least paying some sort of doctor's fee to Dr. Berg's advise? Cause he deserves it...perhaps it's just me😁
Ahhhh, it's so nasty and unhealthy and God remembered that in his book (Quran) He has forbidden you dead, blood, and pork. And Fear Allah, they should be feared, and do not die unless you are Muslims. Believe God Almighty.
Just a note to anyone out there who is struggling with weight..Dr.Berg is spot on. I have gone from 375 to 210 with Intermttent Fasting and have yet to disagree with his advice. Thank You Eric for all you have done for me on my journey to get healthy - you are my go to guy!
@@claudiahansen4938 I primarily cut out red meats and pork, and eat a mostly whole foods and plant-based diet. I also concentrated on getting my gut health right which greatly sped up the weight loss and increased my energy.
@@johnbaker4068 ok, I am working on cutting sugar out now. Will keep red meat with lots of vegetables, eggs. Hardest is giving up all fruit except berries, which I love! Have been a home cook for forty years, and so I can control what I make for me and my husband. Wine is also another thing that's hard to cut out lol!
Well I am doing this 23 hours a day and so far so good. Been about 4 days now. The weight I think is falling off - and I love a palm sized steak with caulifoloer rice and a load of veg topped with mustard cheese and some fat filled butter :)
Literally anyone can afford it as with fasting you save tonn of money so you can buy more expensive organic (or bio as they call it here) food, in the end it is more-less same amount of money for high quality food.
It's easy. It actually helped me see who my real friends are from the people who just want someone to split the bill with them fancy dining. Also, you can invite friends over and cook for them. People always like that.
I do OMAD....at 7pm...so I wasn't invited to any christmas celebrations this year because everyone eats christmas lunch between 12h00 and 14h00 and I can only eat at 7pm🙈😂
@@Browneyegirl_13 I ate Christmas dinner with my family, 2 hours before my fasting window. Ate only Keto friendly foods, so stuck to my diet. Next day I went back to my regular window. No big deal...still lost weight. Just don't do that all the time!
Thanks so much for this through meal plan Dr. Berg, made me realize that Keto is a much whole rounded meal because it has veggies + proteins + seafoods and healthy animal fats. Not from the hearsays that says to consume nothing but animal fats.
Thanks Doctor Breg .. lost 40 lbs with your help .. and down to 160 .. problem is I keep drop each time I do a 3 day fast. I think this will help me balance my intake. I also can eat the same thing every day. I want to continue my healthy success and this should help me. Keep doing what you do for the masses, and we appreciate YOU!
Did this for seven months, but _not_ religiously, and I went from 271# one week before "9-11"till April of the next year (i.e.) seven months later and I was 195#. Felt great repeating it now. Went from 122kgs Aug 2020, and plateaued quickly without keto by Xmas to 108 kgs. Been there since, and now ketoing starting May 17, 2021 to see how low I can go! 👍
Hello Dr. Berg, thanks for this amazing video. Please help with these questions: (anyone else can too) 1. Are the olives in your diet pickled ones? 2. What kind of vitamins do you take? 3. Can we take Multivitamin, Zinc and Vit C tablets all at once during the times you mentioned? 4. Can we add a protein powder once in between the meals as I workout as well? Much thanks!
Very Nutrient Dense. 👍 Nice to know that you practice what you preach 🙂 Good day all. Not boring, food is fuel not recreation. Health first. Good day all.
Thank you Dr Berg for helping me live a healthy lifestyle, I cannot believe I’m down to one meal a day by following the 30 day intermittent fasting , love everyone of your videos
I am going to do it that way. I want to try the OMAD, because I am suffering from insulin resistance, but I think I am gonna start doing a small meal at 13h00 and another at 17h30 according to my work time (lunch and after work). As soos as I can, I will push it through to one meal a day. Thank you Dr Berg for all your advice and tips. I appreciate it a lot. It helps to understand my body and know how to help it better.
hi Dr. berg thank you for your videos, it helped me loose weight so fast ,about 20 kilos in 4 months or so . i just want you to search more about bacon and pork .im sure it’s not healthy. thanks again.
@@Retronize84 yes , she cooked her meal until a year before but then before 6 months she passed away she got bedbounded but still didn’t need any assistance to go bathroom except supervision. Really miraculous. She passed away before 25 days. God bless her.
I'm so glad that Dr Berg is also a boring eater Once I have found something that I like (and my body is happy with the choice) I am quite happy to eat the same thing daily. But this appals my wife who is an excellent cook and is always looking to find new recipes and foods to eat. I'm going to discreetly pass her this vid in the hope that she feels less pressure to vary my food intake.
I eat twice aday as I dont want to loose weight but Im not hungry , I reached my goal months ago with dr. Berg ' s advise. I do fasting 16/8. I feel more energetic at work out when Im fast 😁
