In the US, I didn’t get any anesthetic during insertion for either of my IUDs😐 I would rate it 6/10 pain, it’s kind of like a bad period cramp which we have all dealt with. Then there are some sharp pains afterwards with the hormonal IUD which are more like a 8/10. I got a copper IUD recently and don’t have the same pain as of yet.
Hi DrGreg 😭 I have PCOS and I have Very Heavy periods that will last 30-60 days.. I haven’t found a doctor to actually help me try to regulate my cycle while I try to control and balance my hormones. I’ve had a very hard time. I really need help. I believe I have a thick lining and I have had a DNC done once. - may I get your contact information?
I had my mirena removed three months ago after about 6 years, and went to get a new one today. They said my cervix is too small now for a new one and it may be due to scar tissue from my removal. Should I get a second opinion? Is this something that can actually happen, in your experience? I looked it up and didn't find any information about it. I may also be ovulating, and I read that makes the cervix smaller. I was devastated to get this news. Mirena is the only thing that has worked for me
I had a copper one and part of it stayed in they find it with an ultra sound but when I ask them what will happen on my next appointment how will they remove it? No one has any answers the doctor the nurse no one knows I am very worried. How will they remove it if part of it is still inside
