Another fine video Michael 👍! A gel tipped boar brush is a must purchase! Patti Smith is the Gold Standard! I have become a big fan of Slant razors as the amount of grey hair increases in my whiskers. I am also finding that blades have a shorter life span in Slant razors. Kai blades, which seem a bit thicker/less flexible, last the longest in Slants per my experience. Thanks & Take care, Zac.

That looked like a very smooth shave, Michael! The response I normally get from Mrs. Blade4vor regarding soap scent is, "Another new shaving soap? Really?" That being said, the scent on this one sounds really nice. 😁 The boar brush looks spectacular! I love these new "old" shaving brushes from Heritage Collection Shaving. I only have one.(so far) I think what impressed me most about the gel tipped boar was that your lather didn't disappear after the 1st pass. That drives me nuts when breaking in most new boar brushes. I bought my first Boar brush the other week (Semogue Owners Club). Hearing all the stuff about breaking in and initial smell, I just ran a single test lather with Proraso cream. The result : Beautifully soft and no smell. I haven't braved a slant, or open comb yet. Maybe one day. I'm too comfortable with the Rockwell.

Well done Michael💈💈 Wow, extra shaving and with a slant no less😉 I use the CC bowl to create a "lather", that way I can more easily determine the saturation threshold of water to soap or cream. I then apply the lather on the face to the appropriate density👍 To each his own right? Those Wizamet Polsilver blades are pretty darn good overall, I get great shaves from them. Alas, Polsilver blades in general are becoming more scarce with many vendors unable to restock😒 I've been using Kai blades lately with much success, don't expect super good deals though, they're expensive. I have a C-Mon 77 gel tip badger, extremely nice brush😊 Today: A&E Kahlifa, Rocnel M razor, Elite Razor badger brush, Kai blade...perfect👌 Great video and review again. Enjoy!

Great shave Michael. Yeah the slant and open comb razors tend to eat blades because they have more exposure and the slant changes the geometry of the blade which slices rather than chops. I have a few blades coming in from tryablade.com and the one that used today is one of them. If that blade was fresh, you probably would have over shaved today.

I'm guessing the cherry scent note is inspired by the song "Cherry Bomb" by the Runaways. Edit: Also Clover scent from "Crimson and Clover" cover she did.

Man.....I had that album on vinyl. The Runaways were a young man's dream. The inside sleeve pics! Musically though, yes.....Patti Smith's Easter album is far superior.

Hey, Michael, I can't remember what I've heard you or others say about this aspect of slant razors. You've pointed out that going light is essential. Does using a slant effectively involve any modification in the direction or angle of one's stroke, whether with the grain, across the grain or against the grain? Watching your use in this video, I'd say that no modification of the direction or angle was part of anything, just the lighter touch. Thanks, Michael.

I always try and think "no pressure" while using a razor. Whether I actually apply the same amount of pressure across all razors I don't know, but would you say you ARE trying to apply slight pressure when using a milder razor like the regular Fine Marvel, for example? Also, I didn't realize that the slant version was over twice the cost of the Marvel. Do you think the cost is worth it?
