Love this. I started on Carnivore 30 days ago at 52. Down 20+lbs and feel great. Had absolutely no gas after the 2nd week. I told a buddy I hadn't farted in two weeks - and he recommended fiber. I told him there was no constipation - and I'm sending him this video. Power to the people! :-) Thanks for all the great material doc!

If you are serious about zero fibre - how long do you think it is going to be before your gut muscles turn to jelly? 1 year, 2? 30 days is nothing. Muscles that are not in constant use atrophy.

@@chazwyman8951 You could also say the same about fiber causing some people excessive gas causing chronic and acute inflammation in the gut leading to another pathway leading to intestinal permeability. Chronic inflammation causes atrophy in many parts of the body. Fiber isn't even necessary to heal the enterocyte. That is butyrate's job. Can get that from other sources than just the microbiome. Yes, we don't know the consequences of long-term carnivore, but we do know what happens from antibiotics now, and I have a feeling that people who need the carnivore diet often have a lot of antibiotic exposure form their parents and their childhood. Also, I think there are other ways to produce butyrate outside of fiber. Polyphenols are one example. The problem is, it's probably not possible to get 30 grams of polyphenols like it is with fiber. I personally try to consume some fiber as tolerated, but it's not possible for some people to function when they have extremely painful bloating and brain fog (Likely from the intestinal permeability) that cannot be relieved with farts or using the bathroom. My main concern is how this will affect future generations. Microbiomes are passed down, similar to epigenetics. I imagine it can't be worse than our previous wide-spread use of antibiotics, but who knows.

@@chazwyman8951 Do you think the gut is a waterslide? The muscles are still in use, heck if anything this video showed us a study that showed that eliminating fibre in people with constipation let them pass stool every day, that's amazing doesn't that mean they are using their muscles more? Also evidence shows us that just using muscles at all is enough to maintain them, just because muscles don't have a massive load to work on doesn't equal atrophy.

Dr. Paul Mason's presentation was not only entertaining and informative, it exemplifies something that all scientific minded people should be willing to do - slaughter sacred cows when those sacred cows are lacking evidence. I've been on meds for severe constipation for over a decade. I used to take a massive amount of laxitives once a week to "clean out". My wife said you need more fiber. I obliged and increased my fiber to 50-60 grams a day. It did not help with the constipation but it did give me incredible amount of gas. fast forward years later, I started keto eating very little fiber and no more constipation for months. After about 5 months my body adapted and now I just need a little help occasionally. I've found a tbsp or two a day of EVOO aliviates everything.

Your comments fall into line with my Keto experience. I’m into month 2 and @61 I’ve lost 7.6kgs & now feel 30 years of age again. You wouldn’t know I have 2 arthritic knees that were due to be replaced (not anymore, for now anyway), I wouldn’t know I have bad feet (Plantar fasciitis), no bloat, no flatulence, crape skin is gone, dermatitis is gone, cravings for carbs or sugar is gone, lethargy is gone, sleep 30% less than I used to, wake up totally refreshed & alert, body is stronger, smarter (at least I feel that way), the list goes on.... Thing is my 91 year old mum is on it too, hasn’t helped her bad knee as it’s just too far gone, nor has it helped her hearing! But, she is saying she feels terrific & her rings now keep falling off her fingers as she has lost a few kgs. As with most (if not all) who do the Keto diet I thought I couldn’t live without my carbs (pasta, rice, bread, cereal, potatoes), my fresh fruit (pawpaw, mango, mangosteen, lychee), my veggies & salads? But guess what when in ketosis your brain tells your body, “You don’t need that shit, you’ve got plenty of body fat to convert to ketones & it I starts running short eat more meat & fats. Wow, that’s bazaar for me to just say that. Doing my 2nd set of full bloods in another 3 weeks to compare those I took beforehand which were sensational. Keep you posted!

Great information! I had been on a ketogenic diet (and Intermittent fasting) by which I reversed my insulin issues, lowered inflammation markers, improved all lipid markers, improved hormones, especially thryroid (lowered daily dose) and lost 43 pounds in 9 months. But I was left with extremely bothersome IBS symptoms that didn't get better while all the other things were improving. Just recently, five weeks ago, I decided to try the carnivore diet: no plants in the diet at all. In this short amount of time, and having gone through the expected adjustment period, I am thrilled to share that I am not in the bathroom with watery diarrhea anymore after my meals! It used to be that when I ate salads with so-called salad greens, and lots fiber (to feed the microbiome) and my protein and fatty dressing, I prepared myself for several hours of agony and torture, as the watery diarrhea could last several hours even at times overnight till next morning :( But now, I have all animal products, including hard cheeses, butter and cream, eggs, and meats and have no issues at all. I have bowel movements everyday without any problems. At this point, I see no point in adding plants to my diet, as it is a matter of personal preference and I am preferring to stay not bloated, not to have watery diarrhea, no headaches from weakness, no skin rashes and no inflammation.

I love veggies, nuts, spices, and seeds in keto and have been doing it for 4 years and staying in a healthy weight range after 40+ pounds weight loss, that said, lately I have been bloating. It started after 3 day fasting. In fact each time I fast my belly goes flat and then the first thing I eat puffs it like a balloon. This has happened before, but it goes back to normal in time, but why would I want that! I prayed and now had this and a pre and pro-biotic video in my feed. I think I am going to do a 3 day Carnivore fast (liver, eggs, broth, & bacon) and bring back in veg after with a focus on pre and pro-biotic. I think for fasting I am going to try breaking fasts with carnivore so I am not hit with all the foods at once.

If a child is really hungry it will grab a good looking steak and then the apple. Besides apples are full of sugar we can get addicted to it so easily. I found this in a 2017 publication and will just include the conclusion: "CONCLUSIONS There remains much misinformation in the literature about the physical effects of fiber in the gut. In the small bowel, fiber-related health benefits are dependent on the viscosity of soluble fibers. High viscosity fibers (eg, gel-forming b-glucan, psyllium, and raw guar gum) can have a significant beneficial effect on both cholesterol and glycemic control. In contrast, low viscosity/nonviscous fibers (eg, low-molecular-weight b-glucan, methylcellulose, inulin, wheat dextrin) and insoluble fiber (eg, wheat bran and cellulose) have no significant effect on cholesterol concentrations or glycemic control, and can be used as a placebo. In the large bowel, there are two mechanisms that drive a regularity/laxative benefit: insoluble fiber mechanically irritates the gut mucosa to stimulate mucous/ water secretion, and soluble gel-forming fiber that retains a high-water holding capacity that resists dehydration. To exert a regularity benefit or laxative effect, a fiber must resist fermentation to remain intact and present throughout the large bowel (be present in stool), and significantly increase stool water content. The increase in stool water content provides bulky/soft/easy-to-pass stools. The plastic effect of insoluble fiber (eg, wheat bran) is dependent on particle size/coarseness: large/coarse particles have a significant laxative effect; small/smooth particles can have a constipating effect (add only to the dry mass of stool, decreasing percent water content/hardening stools). The high waterholding capacity of a nonfermented gel-forming fiber (eg, psyllium) can provide a dichotomous stool normalizing effect; that is, soften hard stool in constipation and firm-up loose/ liquid stools in diarrhea, and normalizing stool form in patients with irritable bowel syndrome. In contrast, the lack of water-holding capacity for fine insoluble fiber (eg, fine wheat bran) and fermentable soluble fiber (eg, wheat dextrin) can lead to a constipating effect, resulting in a decrease in stool water content/harder stools. It is therefore essential to recognize which fibers possess specific health-promoting properties, and which fiber supplements have consistent, rigorous evidence of clinically meaningful health benefits at the doses commonly available in the market place (Table 3)." @@davidhenderson5051 Are you even healthy? I know what's pushed, but I also know what works. Pushed and best are not the same thing. Are you prideful? Did you even watch the video? What are you a med student that just finished your 20 needed hours on food where they teach everyone to love what your nation grows based off 70-year-old unethically done studies? I have seen a common theme in 2021/2022 peoples fear and pride can be manipulated into them rejecting reality and growing in hate of the other "side." Let me guess, you take pride in the fact that your "side" trusts the doctors and scientists who have 1 in 200 in their care dying because THEY follow "the science." You mock those "conspiracy theorists" scientists and doctors who are "dangerous" with over 2000 treated, each, but without a single loss. WAKE UP. Your pride is causing harm, and not just to yourself. My hospital won't give doctor prescribed treatments, due to policy influenced by gov. but then the same hospital will spend days dehydrating those same patients while they are drugged out of their minds as deemed "safest" care option, "comfort care," not drugs or vitamins successfully used by millions. WAKE UP!!! Most people are up, we just don't have a say. Maybe that brings you comfort, doctors and scientists are told what science and treatment is allowed. You have peace with that? Fine if your doctor knew how to save Grandma but wasn't allowed to? Good. Enjoy your 11 servings of grain a day and run to the hospital next time you cough so they can immobilize you in a bed for a few months without human contact unless they are willing to be put on death row comfort care. Enjoy! It's "the science." Find peace in being part of those who mock and gag others from feeling they can share the truth.

<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="788">13:08</a> Rabbits - What Dr. Mason does not show is that rabbits also aid their digestion, like most all true herbivore mammals, by eating their food more than once. This is because, even with the help of microbes, plants are difficult to digest. In fact, no animal can do it; it actually the mircobes they host that digest the plant material they eat. Ruminants, including cattle, sheep, deer, wildebeast, antelope, yaks, etc bring up the food they have already eaten back into their mouths, re-chew and re-swallow it. They spend most of their day either eating or re-eating their food. Hindgut fermenters, like rabbits and gorillas, eat the food that has already gone all the way through their digestive tracts. Yup, that is exactly what it sounds like.

The two videos I've watched featuring Dr. Mason have been very interesting and almost vindicating for my decision a month ago to embark on a Carnivore Lifestyle. Prior to changing my lifestyle, I would eat most things but had become aware that the onion family was extremely upsetting to my system, that bread was almost as bad and sugar was my nemesis. After almost 4 weeks of my new lifestyle I feel much better generally, I don't have the bloat, unpleasant bowl movements or tiredness. However, if I'm being totally transparent, I have still to quit coffee, which I can't have without a little milk and half a teaspoon of sugar. I'm also eating a small amount of fruit in the morning, Pawpaw, Pear, Grapes and Blue Berries. And every second day I'm having a glass of Pear juice to keep things moving. I was certain that I needed the fruit to help me, but now I'm not so sure. Great info, thanks for posting.

At <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="671">11:11</a>, read the study from which he took the image of those charts. On the animal based diet, there was a significant increase in bile and harmful bacteria like Bilophila. The researchers concluded that the study supports the link that these animal diet induced increases of bile and Bilophila trigger inflammatory bowel disease. Quote from the study- “Finally, increases in the abundance and activity of Bilophila wadsworthia on the animal-based diet support a link between dietary fat, bile acids and the outgrowth of microorganisms capable of triggering inflammatory bowel disease.” This was the opposite for the plant based diet. The reduced the bile and bacteria which trigger IBD. Malicious misinformation on from this presenter. Additionally, his earlier suggestions about ketones, rather than scfas being able to reduce inflammation were hypothetical at best. He mentions a study of intravenous ketones reducing inflammation but fails to name the study. I ran ketones and inflammation through the medical database search engine and got no results for it. Please provide the study. Based on his explanation of the study he shows at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="671">11:11</a>, I cannot trust him to accurately relay the results of a study.

I should just let this go, but I can’t: Dr. Mason is making a scientific presentation to colleagues, who are expected to know the literature, read the articles, etc. In such presentations, one always highlights the findings that one thinks is most important to make one’s points. People who watch these presentations, are certainly allowed to disagree, or bring up points that they think he had overlooked. There is nothing nefarious about his choices. If he highlights the findings of one study when there are other data from that study that may work against his assertions, presumably he has enough information from other studies that he feels justified in making his conclusion. Just because we may disagree does not mean that he is being disingenuous or deceptive. This is how science works. If you disagree, just keep reading and studying and find the data to support *your* point, and please don’t attribute evil motives to him. It’s not helpful. Personally, I don’t see where we would benefit from these alleged evil intentions. No one we listen to is going to 100% right all the time-and I’m sure Dr. Mason would be the first to admit to that. People asserting what they believe does not make them evil.

LOL We're starting to see more and more backsliding language, as prestigious journals, organizations, and universities figure out an elegant way to reverse position without upsetting Agriculture. Look to see the phrase "Medical Nutrition Therapy" thrown about related to low-carb diets. For example the American Diabetes Association’s new Consensus Report of April 18, 2019: "This moves a low carbohydrate eating pattern and a very low carbohydrate (ketogenic) eating pattern from the realm of a popular lifestyle choice to Medical Nutrition Therapy for the purpose of disease management." :-) I suppose those of us not yet diagnosed are supposed to keep stuffing ourselves with so-called "heart-healthy grains" until a doctor says stop.

When I ate Meat + Fruit, the stools are soft and break up in the toilet. Only meat (like I've been doing for the past 30 days) makes the stools hard and I nearly plug the toilet every time I poop. When Dr. Mason talks about no fibre groups having 1 bowel movement a day after no fibre, then I think about my personal experience, I get confused.

Eat primal diet ! When you cook meat, it gets dry and is much harder to digest. At best cooked meat gives you 20% of its nutritional value. Raw cow’s milk can cause hard stools, and the cause it mainly that your bowels are too dry, and not enough of fat. Learn from Aajonus Vonderplanitz, and follow Sv3rige. I’m on the raw primal diet since a year now, and have only seen health benefits, wrinkles disappear, etc…. All meat should be fresh, pasture raised. When drinking raw milk, before I do I always eat some fresh butter to add fat which is not only good for the body, but helps preventing constipation. On a raw primal diet, you won’t have gas, no bloated belly, stool has absolutely no smell at all. Dr.Maon has good info, yet his hair is turning grey. It’s caused by either high sugar (starch convert to sugar, and hybrid veggies contain starch). Another huge source of grey hair formation are avocado’s, which are gmo. We can’t eat the real avocado, since it has a huge pit and very thin layer of green pulp. Avocado’s are toxic, due to their extremely high toxic copper. Once the liver is saturated with this toxic copper, the person eating this will turn grey very rapidly. Think about it… which other animal cooks their food? Eat primal diet, you’ll thank me later
