Nakia11798 if you think she is over religious then you haven't met many lol. She is actually very very mild compared to some of my family members. Half my family is Mormon, the other half, Catholic. I'm the only Christian lol. I do think her mother went about this all wrong and I agree those things are sins but her mother could have chose a different path to teach her. If you force it down your child's throat then it's just going to make them want to rebel but if you teach them by showing them how to not be judgmental and living a Christian life, then she would have a better chance of having her daughter understand and want to follow her. My boys are young but I'm starting now to enstill good values rather than rules. I mean of course there are rules but if I show them how to be decent boys then I don't have to worry so much when they get older. :)
Chelsea Pratti Yeah I’ve met worse, but you can be overly religious without being an extremist as well. There are different levels of crazy religious person.
That girl's story was really sad. Her brother molested her when she was younger and tried to pay her off for silence. The mom is so hardcore religious, she kicked her out for voting for Hillary Clinton. That was just the first time she was kicked out. The mom and brother act super self righteous but they treated her so shitty and alienated her so badly that they chased her out, left her with no help, and then further alienate her and say it's her fault. She is psychologically damaged and trying to survive and here her family drags her here on the show just to tell her what a shitty person she is. Were I her, I'd have ceased contact with them years ago. Dr Phil REALLY did not like her family. I don't think most normal folk would.

I agree with the Mum. TV is the 😈 media, wearing sexy clothing is in Christian, pop music media is mostly about sex and violence and the way in which majority of us is unholy. The way to God in heaven is to live the way Jesus tells us to live in the Bible.

Charlie Kelly I understand that but the parent and brother have worse behavior with the negativity. If they were more positive and tried to uplift her instead of bringing her down and forcing Christianity down her throat she might have been better

Theists..especially extremely strict religions are structuring people to fear God to the point of not questioning their version of reality and what existence means to them beyond what they were told to believe is the "truth". Piggypoo I’m sorry that you went through that.. it is really extremely sad to know you’ve had to go through an experience like that. But I have attended meetings and been with people who are Jehovah’s witnesses, did my own studying. I have not once seen or felt that it forced or restricted me (and the people around me) to the point of being to barely live. If anything I think my life has changed for the better and I feel more free than anything.

I watched this episode. The two dudes are her brothers and the one in red molested her when she was (I think) 4 and gave her a couple bucks as hush money. This was literally an episode of "this is why you shouldn't raise your children in a strictly religious household". It was pretty sad but my grandma and I where just baffled by how shocked this woman was when all statistics pointed to this outcome
