The grandfather was a step parent,not blood.these 2 girls are blood related.yet these 2 bitter older women refuse to stand by them,especially the one snarky comment by the one with glasses,the "why wasn't my grand daughters approached by him,guess they weren't good enough"..lady,thank the good Lord they weren't cuz they wouldn't have any support from u either...
Just because her daughters haven't said anything doesn't mean it didn't happen to them. I didn't say anything until I was in my 30's when it came back into my consciousness. It's a lifelong curse. I have CPTSD. I'm in my 70's now. While the rawness of the experiences has subsided, the damage to my ability to have and keep relationships has not. The behavior of these two ignorant self righteous and selfish old bats really triggered my rage.
She’s acting insulted that her grandkids weren’t also victims. How evil do you have to be to be insulted that some children were molested over others? I hope these girls find healing and are able to move on despite the monsters that are sharing a stage with them trying to deny them that closure

I think she resents the accusation because she's got an Elektra (Female Equivalent to Oedipus) Complex for her Stepfather. She was way too bitter and scornful throughout the exchange for it to just be hostile outrage. That was jealousy and resentment over "if that's true, why didn't he choose me?"
With these two women at the helm, no wonder the Captain was able to steer his own course taking advantage of young girls. There truly are none so blind as those who WONT see.

It's my personal opinion that Sharon is a big part of the problem. She is more concerned with convincing the world that it didn't happen. Furthermore honestly feel like she is covering it up. She doesn't seem unintelligent she just seems sneaky. I think personally that she is staying in the grandmother's ear and keeping the problem alive. Then she blames it on the younger kids for putting the grandmother through the problem. She's on the borderline of being a bad human being.
I think both of the girls handled themselves maturely and wisely. They were clear and spoke with honesty and conviction. I am so proud of them for how strong they are! It is NOT easy!💕
My mother was an enabler for my stepdad. My older sister had uterus surgery at 2-3 years old and could not have children. He molested me for years. Mother knew and deny, deny to her death bed. Mothers who know never own up and I think their own sexual behavior has a lot to do with it.

The presence of mind Dr Phil shows in moments like this is inspiring. This clip broke my heart. I had not heard the term "functional blindness" before -- that gave me chills. And rape is not just about male penetration -- wow, I felt like I was back in the 1970s. Those poor young women. Betrayed 3x over.
This man's actions were despicable, but the women protecting and defending him, and who may have even let such actions take place, and turned a blind eye, are just as abhorrent. It's either an extreme case of narcissism in both of their cases, or that they have doubled down so much that they can't admit to their heinous mistakes, or perhaps both.

im a man, as a boy something horrible happened, babysitter. years later IT HAPPENED AGAIN! , i buried it in shame. that couldnt possibly happen to a cops kid ! i brought it up as an adult, not only was i denied i was accused of delusion. i am now disabled after a horrible accident, i am stuck living with them. i can be right or i can be homeless.
He probably did do something to Sharon's girls if he had access to them but she's such a nightmare that they would never talk to her about it. If he didn't touch them I think Peggy exposed why the one girls and not the others shen she said, "I tried to give them a better life". The victims he chose had something going on in their lives that made them more vulnerable, more easily manipulated, intimidated, controlled, easily discredited, etc. In essence, they were easier targets for him.
Total denial and obvious resentment that her husband could not perform with her but could with young girls. looking at the grandmothers attitude it is evident why he had a problem with her. Her supporter is as bitter as she is about her friends feeling, not about how it has affected the victims. Any reasoning person would know that they would not expose themselves to the scrutiny of the law and also come on Dr Phil just to get back at the grandfather for not giving them something.
It always amazes me when older women fail to advocate for younger ones.. even to the point of contempt and hate. It seems like they're jealous of them, otherwise this hatred just seems to come out of nowhere.
The idea that one set of victims weren’t victimized proves another set of victims couldn’t have been victimized is obviously ridiculous, but what makes her so sure her grandkids weren’t victimized? Obviously, I’m not seeing the whole episode, so maybe there is a really good reason such as the kids were interviewed by a really good, well-trained forensic psychologist who determined it was unlikely those kids weren’t molested, but considering how blind these women clearly want to be about the abuse, I am extremely skeptical that they can be so sure it didn’t happen with the other potential victims.
I’m telling you. This lady is jealous her husband was giving her grand daughters and other girls attention. That’s why she’s sad and in denial at the same time. SICK ! Worried more about her feelings than exposing the truth
Its sad to see the decline of dr phil. He was respectable and his work was entertaining. Now he has fallen off the deep end into magatism. Very sad to see.
