I have both a Clymer manual and the Suzuki factory manual. If you can only have one, I recommend the Suzuki one. A bit of internet searching can find one to download for free of a small fee. It's well worth it, it's difficult to cover everything in a video unless it's a few hours long!

Hi, im from Argentina, first: Excellent explanation, I have been watching the video several times to fully understand how this engine works, I thank you Second: I have a DR350, and my crank spring broke.. I have the service manual that I download from the Internet and I do not quite understand how it is placed, It was just one of the parts you cut in the video 🤣🤣🤣 the problem is that the images in the manual look blurry and I don't quite understand what shape the spring is placed and what are the right steps to place it (my technical English is not so good)..Should I put the tip of the spring that goes into the shaft first or the one that goes in the crankcase first? Also note that there is an alignment between thr pawl and the shaft.. That's all? Or it has some other alignment regarding the other gears? Could you try to explain? I'll be in your debt. Saludos desde América latina! A seguir rodando!

Great Video, i'm about top do a rebuild on my '93. how do you feel with the 430cc kit? it's good also with long transfer between one trail and another, or not? ok more power/torque for sure, but rpm wise ? thanks a lot.
@TomsTinkeringandAdventures
@TomsTinkeringandAdventures 5 месяцев назад
I have had two bikes with the big bore kit like this. It's definitely more torquey but it feels like it revs a bit slower and loses a bit of top end power? So if you're a person that likes to rev the bike you probably don't want this, but if you like low RPM power it's great.

How did you mount up the DRZ speedometer and headlight?
@TomsTinkeringandAdventures
@TomsTinkeringandAdventures 4 года назад
The headlight shroud fits over the DR350 headlight just fine from what I remember, no mods needed. The speedometer bolted directly to the triple clamp, exact same as the stock speedometer. The wiring connections were completely different, but the wire colors were the same as a stock DR350 speedometer. I cut and spliced the connections from the DR350 to the DRZ speedometer and everything works. Thanks for watching!

I used Google translate, so hopefully I got this right. It looks like you're having an issue with spark? I have had a few failed stators on the DR350's in the past. There are test parameters in the manual. The coil and the CDI are usually pretty reliable but worth checking if you can. If you take some time searching online, you can probably find a manual to download for free or cheap. Best of luck, I hope that my reply has been helpful.

Anyone reading this I assume is a Dr350 owner.....has anyone had any issues reading oil level?..the oil drains back down soon as I shut it off...I've googled forums but nobody ever has a solution....also not one video of the "oil valve check" that these DRs come with... they're on the inside of the clutch cover...
@TomsTinkeringandAdventures
@TomsTinkeringandAdventures 3 года назад
From my memory, you are supposed to run the engine for a while (a few minutes), shut it off and then check the oil right after shutting it off. If you let it sit too long, you will get an incorrect level. As for your second point, I am not sure what you are talking about? Oil valve check? There is a bolt on the clutch cover that you can remove to do a cursory oil check if you want to ensure oil is in the bottom of the engine before starting, if that's what you're referring to.
@LosVRC
@LosVRC 3 года назад
@@TomsTinkeringandAdventures very few information on the oil check valve..it slows the drain back oil from frame...it was suzuki fix for the owners having incorrect oil readings...some drs have them others don't...it's below the bolt on the clutch cover..it's a spring then ball. @TomsTinkeringandAdventures
@TomsTinkeringandAdventures 2 года назад
There's really no way to answer that, it all depends on maintenance and use but I can tell you that if you have 3000 miles and it's been taken care of you have plenty of life left in that engine. I have seen them with over ten times that mileage.
