Bardock b assist is a little overrated, the only problem I have with it is the hitstun, but other than that it's a perfectly fine assist (P.S I am not a bardock player.)
So two regular saiyans and Yamcha ended up being one of the best characters in the game, yet Beerus: God of Destruction and Jiren the Strongest Mortal are low tier. Fighting games are amazing.
ghfhfh rhyry she’s bardock without an insane B assist, no overwhelming neutral tools, but with slightly better zoning, and worse normals. So basically she’s nothing special
DBFZ is a special game, you can literally main every character and be good with it. The worst match up is acceptable and the best is also dependant on your skill.
Mindd Trixxter tekken 7 is not the same in that aspect 😂 there are characters that are so far above everyone else it’s not even funny. The new character for example lol
Leroy has been nerfed more than enough, and Fahkumram is overrated, he's just a solid character. There's almost no fighting game where you can't main pretty much everyone, so this is more special to fighting games than DBFZ in particular.
For the love of God! Can we please, as a community, start calling S+ Tier Z Tier!? This is Dragon Ball for crying out loud! (Yes I'm being petty) Anyway, overall I really like this list. I think I disagree with a few key characters, such as Zamasu, Tien, and Vegito. But I can understand your reasons for placing them lower than I would.
M_ALI_04 I like the analogy that the current tier lists reflect how every character has improved since launch and are more a comparison to former tier lists. I do realize however some characters were very overpowered in season one, e.g. cell. So it may not be an accurate analogy per se.
You have to understand the meaning of the tiers on tier lists. The separation of tiers doesnt mean "This is how much better they are than other characters," but rather "This is how viable the character is to pick" For example, the game with probably the most famous tier lists is SSBM There are only 2 A-Tier characters, still plenty viable, but not the best of the best. One of the characters is Jigglypuff, and Hungrybox has been topping tourney after tourney with her. But over three quarters of the characters are below that, and it shows because, although there are some good players who play those characters, like Wobbles on Ice Climbers, or Axe on Pikachu, there simply hasnt been a single major where those characters have won. And if you go under that, picking something like Luigi or Donkey Kong is just out of the question if you are playing against someone of equal skill who is using a high tier. Which is why one of the most famous moments of smash is M2K vs AMSA, a yoshi player. It was a very top tier player, using top tier characters, vs someone who was (at the time) practically unknown using a D-tier character (which even then, still beat out half of the cast in terms of viabilty). It wasnt because of the character match-up, but the pure, raw skill Amsa put out over Mew2King. So yeah, TL;DR: Seperation of tierlists is about viability, not how much they outclass other characters.
@@dgayle2348 In a way it is, but it's a larger margin than simply "being better" Being a viable character means that it is sufficiently good as a character that you can get consistent results with it. A character placed below such a tier means that the character's viability starts to become inconsistent: either they lack tools, or what they have is not sufficiently good to compete with the rest of the cast on even ground. So while A Tier characters may not be exceptional, but are still overall proficient characters, below A is where the characters start lacking in different areas and players will find achieving succesful results with them considerably harder granted an equal skill level. The lower tier you go, the more you need skill to compensate for your character's weaknesses
If you show this tier list to any Dragon Ball fan who’s never played this game, their first reaction would be “Wait....this isn’t canon...” (Edit: I was not expecting to get this many likes and replies 😅Thanks guys)
That's the main problem I have with this game...the fact that yamcha and bardock...2 lower power level warriors curb stomp the majority of the cast sort of disrespectful but hey that's life
Is nobody going to talk about how they indirectly buffed Vegito’s standing light attack? If it’s blocked you can cancel into a Dragon Rush. Edit: Vegito’s standing light is like 3 seconds long. Edit 2: Chads is the FGC Please forgive me for my lack of skill! I am only but a casual peasant!
Litterally every goku blue I've faced since getting the game 2 months ago has done nothing but tod me with just auto combos over and over again....it would at least be fine with me if it wasnt a *bloody auto combo to assist back to auto combo and repeat*
FighterZ is one of the few games where I can feel comfortable trying to main any character because they are all good and above. It feels good to see Yamcha, the biggest joke in Dragon Ball, in S Tier 🤣
Tier lists are fun. I enjoy seeing them change throughout the season so I’m glad people are finally starting to make them because I was tired of hearing “too soon”
I feel like when they made the game they thought that: "Lets make the weakest characters in the series freakin killing machines" the logic is "The more powerful the character is in the series, the worse it is"
Play hit on point (first character) and I guess use frieza and coolers C assist to help mixup and extensions since hit only has a slow low and a VERY slow overhead, your gameplay for hit is going to be centered around him just trying to get mix ups off his unblockable ice command grab and high low(very bad) mixup.Keep frieza in anchor (last character) because his golden form stacked with sparking and the 10% power boost for your last character can be clutch
I only disagree with jirens place. He got some good buffs like he's counter is not better and covers mid and lows and he got a knock down from mid screen now.
From Jiren main,i agree that Jiren is better but he didn't have a mix up,he have the low starter and that's it he need assist to get the overhead safety and his grab still really slow and he didn't have armor like DBZ Broly grab or DBS Broly, who has 16 frame anti air grab to let you jump out the pressure and he even have 14 frame grab if your opponent standing and even android 16 have better grab and better mix up than him. If Android 16 buff his moves to gain more meter,he will be A+ or S tier because that's the only thing android 16 is bad and everyone drop him beginning of s2. If Jiren get buff in the next patch then i want the grab has better start up like DBS Broly or give him a armor to prevent for full combo punish. His mid and low counters are really bad against DBZ Broly like he cannot get a single counter to DBZ Broly because almost every move that DBZ Broly does have armor . And now ui Goku steal his moves and make them to better version than him(Mostly the ki blast)
@@13thKingMu Totally agree man. I picked up Jiren and he's grab is WAYYY too slow. Honestly in the next patch if they buff only the grab i won't even be mad.
I’d definitely say Cooler is A+ • Loads of diffrent low hitting moves, and a move that is overhead and plus on block • Great B and C assist • DP • Has descent ranged options • always pressure after combo’s (also after vanish) • 3H
Nah I think UI goku is gonna stay in s+, he is like the 3rd best point in the game and his mixups are stupid. Never had that much faith in blue gogeta but he’s the coolest character to watch in my opinion... that level 5 is clean
Man, i really hate when people use S and specially S+ on their tierlist without understanding what they mean. You dont place a char on S because they are top tier. You place them on S because on a matchup chart their matchups are almost if not all of them are favorable and most of them are 7:3 in his favor. An S+ char, all of its matchups are 7:3 or better on its favor. They essentially make the rest of the cast unusable. This is why i hate that we now dont use actual matchup charts data to make tierlists an just hunches and feelings.
My 3 fav characters to play in game is literally Jiren Black & Cooler. I'd only make a argument for Cooler being A+ in my mind honestly. Good vid as usual~!
Especially in S1, My friends and ranked kept dunking on my Broly, now everyone I fight says I'm nothing without Z Broly and to pick someone that isn't cheap. To which I say, go fuck yourself I'm a character loyalist.
This game went to The Marvel vs Capcom School of Buffing Things: - Beams, lots of beams - Air combos - Buff everyone; only weaklings give out nerfs And I love it
@@rileyvankirk9355 I believe he thinks that vegito tick throw is bad because his 5l is really long making it easier to react to the dragon rush. And while you're right that all dragon rushes are the same speed it doesn't mean that both tick throws and raw dragon rushes are equally easy to tech.
So smart of the creators to give the characters an assist choice, increases the variability of the game on an exponential level. It needed it too, I got a little bored after seeing every single player on a tournament running Vegeta, Cell and Gohan. The game is fresh again.
Yamcha is my favorite character in the series but it's just so funny to see the S+ tier occupied by some of the most powerful character in the show. . . and then there's Yamcha right next to them.
Fun fact: Bardocks B-assist is better than Nappa's alt-level 3. On hit, it gives you about twice as much time to do things, with the only real difference being a lack of OTG, which doesn't matter, because if you OTG with Nappa's alt level 3, you don't get the float anyways.
Tbh have you seen the ui goku gameplay on twitch today? At about 57:45 he walks through freizas lazer spam (5Sx6) and on like the 4th one inputs 6h and it's so fast that it completly bypassed anything hitting him after and destroys frieza. Same for broly but that 6h after just walking through in the middle of the blast..... my god.
(Unless I fully decide to replace Kefla with UI Goku) my whole team is the low tiers. Videl, Vegito, and Kefla. In the middle of Season 2, I decided to drop Bardock for Videl because as I got further into competitions, Bardock turned from a really fun punching machine to a bunch of corners, blockstrings, and other stuff that got old real quick. It’s been a hell of a ride to pink since then, and this season kept it fun.
I’ve been waiting for this day. When my favorite character Frieza is finally one of the best in the game like he deserves. This puts a smile to my face
I just thought of something that would be cool for Blugeta. Replace Big Bang Attack with Gallick Gun. He does a little hop and fires it off toward the ground, kinda like Gogeta. And you can cancel it into "On a Scale of One to Ten" because he's now airborn. In the corner it combos.
I'm happy to see Piccolo's relatively higher up in tier lists, he's a cool character with an interesting tool set. Neutral is pretty weak, but he has good mobility, good crossup, Okizeme, a sniping beam, and EX Chop is a life-saver
I’m not super technical or in depth to this game but when I first got it my team has always been teen Gohan, gogeta and my favorite dragon ball character, DBS Broly. I clutched games so hard with him before. If you’re going to super Dash you better watch out for that level three
that's the first tier list I'm kinda agreeing with you although I think people are sleeping on goku blue and nappa and I'd have ordered s+differently and/or moved some of the s+characters into s tier but these are only minor things that were to expect by a subjective tier list
Idk about him being "top tier", but considering how good he dismantles Broly's Neutral game and shit like that, he's definitely going to be somewhere around S tier, maybe. Tho, it's too early to tell. He could have shit frame data.
Maybe but not at the start. He looks like a character that will require alot if time to get good at. And he does look like a gimmicky character. I think online though he's gonna be a troll character for sure. People will do his dodge moves and start t bagging
hmm.... i feel like vegito is underrated, he has some pretty strong tools for keeping pressure and his throw is amazing for catching people who tech upwards
Vegito was a consistent character on my teams, but now most characters just really don’t link up with him, so he’s been cut from my team building thought process for a while
Personally, I would rate video an A tier at least, she has some very decent combos, and if you have a very aggressive playstyle, her assists are pretty versatile with close combat. Her supers could use some touching up, and her basic attacks are pretty nice as well. Nothing too good, but at the same time, nothing bad. This is just my opinion, and like you said, the game is extremely balanced, and you can be good with anyone.
Man, I want to buy that Android 17 hoodie from that shop he mentioned in the beginning, but I'm pretty sure that in the anime it's a long sleeve not a t-shirt and I like long sleeves and a long sleeve is better because it's actually in DBS.
You can still be good with her, the only issues she has is... A slow 2M, her rekkas are Gimmicky, she relies on bar alot, *No reflect*, her assist are... Ok, she has a bad DP and her mix can be scary... if the opponent respects it. If they gave her a reflect, increased the speed of her 2M so it's actually apart of her block strings, give her DP more range, and add something to her mix to make her even scarier
my team went from being Broly/Goku/Vegeta (SSJ for both Goku and Vegeta) at the start of S2 to S.Broly/Vegito/Black at the start of S3 and now I'm replacing Vegito with UI Goku (maybe temporarily though, since I still like Vegito... I just don't like his awkward combo routes).
