Broly is using the power and strength of the great oozaru while remaining in his human form and maintaining his speed and agility. That is the closest to super saiyan 4 you'll ever get in this canon. But that explains his berserker nature. It's not because he's mind snapped by a crying baby. He's feral. He's tapping into that primal rage.
I always wished the SSJ power system was done differently. With a form added into the story where you can draw Oozaru power without becoming it. I would've had Vegeta develop on that path while only Goku was an exclusive SSJ.

I love how the ending statement by Goku both has double meanings. He’s acknowledging his sayian heritage, but at the same time; it’s also a reference to how Broly’s previous character screamed the name over and over again.
Yeah it's like an inverse of the original where Broly calls him Kakarot and Goku says,"Hey my name is Goku but some of my friends call me Kakarot and you aren't my friend!" Because now goku acknowledges that he's Broly's friend! 🙂

The character designer and key art is done primarily by a different art then supers was. The artist behind Broly is Naohiro Shintani, which is why it looks and animates so differently from supers, more saturated look.

A couple trivia notes. First, Vegeta acknowledged Tarble as canon, his younger brother. Second, The first time in ALL the franchise including the NON-CANON films that Vegeta is not humiliated nor beaten, in fact he gives Broly a more difficult fight than Goku earlier on. Third, Frieza was shown with Pink skin, because that was true for the manga. The anime changed his skin to purple. Even Goku being sent as a toddler was taken from the manga (DB Minus). Him being sent as a newborn was completely anime filler. There is a lot more, but this movie was amazing! Love that you and Blind Wave dropped your reactions within days of each other!

The Dragon Ball Super anime was always hand drawn. All modern day anime are mostly still hand drawn. It's the coloring that's done digitally. The reason why DBS had animation problems isn't because of budget or not having talented artists. It was due to bad scheduling. They only had a few months before airing their first episode and that was not enough. Big on-going anime usually should have more than half a year of prep time and DBS didn't get that. Hence the extreme fluctuation in quality. While with this movie there was enough talent but more importantly enough time.
@@Karma-pq9fi The whole production was rushed. Pretty crazy: years of no DB series. They want to bring it back and they rush it in a month or three/four. When episode 5 hit, you could really see what kind of damage that had done. And the key animator on that episode is super talented and he got trashed on the internet while it wasn't even his fault. Later on he got his revenge because he did some nicely animated ToP episodes and also scenes in the Broly movie.
One Punch Fish That’s also due to scheduling issue. Super’s production problem got better and better, but 25 episodes straight up to fighting and fighting and fighting, there was no way they could handle it properly, so they made a clever move by using reused animation. Of course it’s not the best thing ever, but the animators had more time and were able to product many beautiful stuff while some scenes were reused. You can’t deny the fact that the TOP arc was the best arc in terms of visual, even when you hate bank animation.

gokus character was all about helping other characters develope. his relationship with vegeta over the years is a perfect example of that. if people dont understand that by now then they just will never get it. plus i agree about the ending as well in terms of development
@@RicardoPierotti. Actually, that already happened in the Freeza saga. If you've only watched the old English dub you might not be aware of it. He accepts his Saiyan heritage during the "i am" speech to Freeza. The original English dub changed it into the cringy "protector of the universe" speech.
The problem about thinking that UI Goku is the strongest is that he'd have to get the job done within a minute or he is toast. Even at that power he still couldn't do the job on Jiren.

Well yeah, but also keep in mind that pretty much the entirety of Gogeta Blue vs Broly took place in the few seconds between the dragon asking "What is your wish?" and her asking him to save Broly. That entire sequence from them breaking out of the alternate dimension to the ultimate kamehameha took about 10 seconds max.
13:00 is a reference to The first Tenkaichi, if you watch the intro, they fight so hard and fast they essentially breach into hyperspace. When I saw this I damn near jumped cause I thought I would NEVER see that shit again. So far I haven't seen anyone else get this low reference.
2:48 Japanese animators still use hand drawn and traditional/frame by frame animation they just digitally color the frames. Also it looks so good because they can add more frames to the movie.
I agree, it's also not just about the frames, the actual art style is much improved. The new show could 'look' like this if they keep the character sheets from the movie. Super's art felt too stiff in comparison, this style is much more animation friendly.

Yeah, I cringe whenever people say hand-drawn when it comes to anime because they clearly don't actually know what it means, the majority of anime is drawn by hand, the digital stuff is mostly in the editing/effects work done after the fact

I loved being able to see the difference in Goku and Vegeta's fighting styles. For as much as he complained about the fusion dance, Vegeta moves almost like a ballet dancer in combat, and while Goku is definitely a brawler, he also has a deep arsenal of special techniques
That "but call me kakarot" was a reference to when in the first z broly movie when broly calls goku kakarot a lot and Goku says only close friends call him kakarot referencing vegeta so goku says that broly is a very close friend of his
Fun fact, Saiyans have demon blood, like Dabura from the Buu Saga. Frieza's race are actually decsendant from a great Frost Demon that was slain and its corpse was abondoned in the mortal realm and Frieza's race was born from it. Saiyan heritage is bit more vague but from what I can gather, all Saiyans have a segment of that DNA of demon, that's what turns them into Great Apes. Broly is part of a unique Bloodline that every millenia or so the Bloodline produces a warrior whose able to tap into the full power of their demon heritage, which includes all the perks of the tail even without it, hence why Broly is so strong in base form and Saiyans are already powerful to begin with but that power of demons merged with the Saiyans ability to learn and get stronger amplifies the host tenfold and more. All Saiyans could potentially tap into the power hence how Goku, Vegeta and the others attained Super Saiyan but Broly always has had it, but because the power is so much for one mortal to handle the power of demons that can rival even destroyer level power they loose their minds like in Ape form. Hence the Legendary Super Saiyan, it's in a league beyond Super Saiyan. The Legend of the Super Saiyan was hero myth to the Saiyans but the title of Legendary Super Saiyan is one to be feared and is sometimes confused for being the same thing.
I still want to point out that even to this day, Zamasu is the only who ever put up anything remotely akin to a fight against Goku and Vegeta's fusion.
I've never seen such a good move besides interstellar, so much detail, love, creativity and so much more I can't even tell, I've seen the move like over 10 times now and I still get the feelings and I'm still loving it.
Shenron does grant two wishes but the last time they called him everyone was arguing over the second wish for so long that Shenron freaked out about being summoned for so long and departed before it could have been made. It was when Goku told King Kai he was gonna bring him back to life.

The dragon granted 1 wish instead of 3 because after DBS future trunks arc they had an episode where Goku was trying to revive King Kai n others n everybody had a tangent with wishes so the dragon perished after granting two.
Joel Rosa he was stated to by goku to be around the lvl of beerus. Goku didn’t fight beerus at full power so this is just him assuming. Every guide/scan says jiren beats god of destructions easily. Even the gods were scared of jiren he literally surpassed time Jiren wins no difficulty.
The soundtrack is the original. It was inspired by the big Brazilian reactions they had. Also, CGI is prolly the best for an Anime. I dont mind it personally.
The phrase "so sick" followed by child like noises sums up everyone's reaction. This movie was a gut punch from Vegeta. And if you know anything about Vegeta it's that if he's punched you in the stomach it's because he cares about you. And this movie really did show it cared.

I guess everybody forgot that fusions have a 30 minute cooldown after the initial 30 minute fusion. That's why Adult Gohan saved Goten and trunks from Super buu when they defused and couldn't do it again. So if it was accurate, Frieza was getting beat for 2 hours. Nice retcon, dragon ball

This movie alone was 100x better than whatever super was lmao. The plot and the animation were a solid 10/10. They should just stick to doing movies like these.
I know this was months ago, but I wanted to come and explain something: This was a VERY small detail, but the reason why Shenron only allowed one wish is because the writers/producers kept up with the anime. In a filler arc, everyone fought for the last wish out of the three wishes. Shenron got tired and decided to leave, so Shenron still had that one wish remaining.
Some of the things you have to take into consideration with power in different forms are : how easy it was for jiren to beat god goku and vegeta vs how hard Broly was going. ALSO when Kefla was made with the platora ear rings goku had to go ultra instinct to beat them so imagine how strong the fusion Gogeta is. Because of that I would think Gogeta could defeat un mastered ultra instinct for sure 100% At the end of the day Broly got the brakes beat off him by Gogeta blue and jiren got the breaks beat off him against mastered ultra instinct. Tbh it’s easier to believe the godly form of UI is stronger because it’s harder to reach.
Jiren’s loss revolves around all the teamwork and combined power U7 was putting on him, if it was Vegeta and Goku alone, frankly, I don’t know if they would stand a chance.

Why would they pair Raditz together with the prince who broke all previous records if he was a simple low level? Raditz was in the high class bro, had he been a low level, he would’ve been sent to another planet to conquer it.
They completely retconned broly and I'm so happy they did. Not only did they make him stronger but they actually gave him a story and character andthey even gave a new future for Dragon Ball. The thing about broly is he's never had a day of training and yet in the short time he was on Earth fighting against them he managed to learn new techniques and stand his own ground to the point that it took Goku and Vegeta to fuse into gogetaand then become God in order to fight against him. All of this this entire movie is just broly's basic power kind of like how frieza was so strongbut when he started training he have cheap the golden form broly has never had proper training the only person who's ever fought against was paragus and monsters in order to fight but in terms of strength none of them could compare to him so he never had something to make himself stronger meaning if he were to start training he could become the strongest character in all the Dragon Ball.
