@@jokelatonnah you gotta remember that future trunks was literally BORN into the environment of the androids, he never had a solid childhood at all and ik neither did gohan really but its not like gohan was born and everything around him was dead. Trunks had to watch what the androids did having to hear stories of how gohans own friends family, and even how his own father perished at the hands of the androids. Then even after he eventually beats the androids he has to deal with majin buu almost being freed which just made everything worse, then eventually goku black comes and destroys literally everything and In the end his entire timeline that he fought so hard for, for the past 30+ years just gets erased by a childish all powerful war lord, literally everything he fought for got erased, the gohan he knew, erased, his own mothers soul, erased, everything was erased. And now he has to live In a duplicate timeline with another version of himself and his mother. A timeline where he doesn’t belong. Trunks suffered the most by far. He quite literally lost everything. Gohan was at least able to rest In peace with goku and piccolo and the others In the after life. Trunks never got the closure of seeing Gohan again…..
@@runin12Being born into a harsh environment is not as bad as growing up in a relatively peaceful one in comparison and then having to see all of it destroyed over the course of years before dying yourself.
I think the whole future timeline is the darkest one. After Android, Kaiohshin died, and not long after his death, Goku Black appeared and destroy the future
@@SwagChickenNuggetGod ??? Buu saga is a literal joke fest, to the point even future trunks canonically solos babidi and dabura without letting majin buu hatch. And goku black is just the android saga for F.trunks but this time he only loses his mother which he gets back because of Whis.
@@theultimatetrashman887 in buu saga literally fusions couldnt beat buu and buu was planning on destroying the universe if buu actually did what he was planning literally all of universe 7 except whis would be dead
It really makes more sense for gohans death to be a catalyst for trunks reaching ssj . Especially because gohan never witnessed the transformation in this movie it adds to the disappointment and sadness of the overall situation .
@@miamitten1123well yea after the introduction of the multiverse in dragon ball it’s plausible. i mean this movie is the only one that actually coulda/did happen.
I can't believe hes gone man, i still cannot accept this reality.. This year is literally the worst one... He was still young and had energy and passion in him.. 😟
Even worse, then. The same nightmare except Cell also murders Trunks and sets in motion the killing spree of the main timeline. The androids at least get neutralized, but is a rather poor consolation.
It's like Trunks said when describing them to the Z fighters: those cold, dead eyes are genuinely unnerving and malicious. Definitely some of the best villains in the franchise.
I really wish there was a T.V. Special/OVA for the "Dragon Ball Super" Anime where we could've seen how Future Trunks stopped the Resurrection of Majin Buu based from the DBS Manga Special Chapter, However, the DBZ: Kakarot Trunks DLC is the Closest we'll ever get anyway.
@@rudyesco Yeah though it's also been established that Goku and Vegeta couldn't do that anymore by the Goku Black arc in the manga. In this case though it didn't really matter, in the manga 17 revealed that he wasn't even using half of his power, and it's implied that 17 killed him.
Why after the fight with the Androids did Bulma not just give Gohan a robotic arm? I always wondered that… It’s like Frieza could be rebuilt with robotic parts why couldn’t Gohan?
Gohan saw the potential and emotions and knew al along his death would power up Trunks, he had no senzu beans left, had one arm and knew he couldnt win 2vs1. Gohan was drained and tried to enjoy himself with Trunks and Bulma for the last time. Very emotional dbz movie maybe one of the greatest. Trunks needs to get more respect like back when he got introduced and killed Frieza, he is the son of Vegeta with Goku/Gohans mentality...... TY VERY MUCH FOR UPLOADING THIS VIDEO BROTHER.
This is one of the only DBZ moments that could be a Live-Action movie. As the audience who don’t know DB can learn via Trunks eyes and the message is grown up that they won’t think it’s a kids movie
I would love to see an extended version of this movie. It should’ve started with goku’s fight vs frieza and an extended version of the Z fighters finding out and fighting the androids instead the short clip at the beginning
Sad that this is the REAL time line and the ones we watch is the side quest. Japanese know how to get morbid in a colourful would. On a side note. Trunks deserves a spinoff series.
The one plot hole in this movie that cant be explained is the lack of the gravity machine and zero intervention from Kami and Popo to say _"yo, come up here and you can train for a whole year in a single day using the Hyperbolic Time Chamber."_ As we know, training at Kami's place guarantees them victory. But even if that wasnt available, the gravity machine would have powered them up significantly in a few months and they'd have been able to beat the Androids.
I remember that it was stated that the Androids destroyed the lookout. What I have to say is, why nobody from the other world tried to contact Gohan or Trunks through north Kaio, since I can bet, they went there to train
Future Gohan does not get enough credit. Bro watched his world's strongest warriors get decimated by these two and still decided to fight them solo. And give them the toughest fight of their lives on top of that. Dude was savage.
Respectfully disagree on it being the best but it's still badass. I do think it's great that such a great show had multiple great intros created for it. Everyone has at least one intro they love
@@kava3957 ikr ,the og japanese version was used throughout db and dbz, it feels way more thematic and gohans ssj 2 insert song is unmatched, adding all this funky rock edm to this show non stop is just disrespectful honestly
Android 17 was always one of my favorites but I love the personalities of the Androids.. 17 and 18 are such a cool Duo. And their personalities especially in this movie is just so cool. I love their banter and dialogue. That's actually to me the best part of the movie better than even the fighting. I've always really liked Android 17 and just his personality but when he's with 18 and they're in this movie they have dialogue that is just really really special in the DBZ world I think. The way they talk to each other is very relatable and it's extremely comical.
I just don’t understand how the world was still inhabitable 13 years later… it wouldn’t take them more than a year to destroy all of humanity even if they were playing games the whole time.
There’s hundreds of thousands of towns scattered across the world. Destroying 1-100 towns a day is realistic as they didn’t just outright destroy every city they came across. They enjoyed playing around with human which bought time for survivors and nearby towns.
I saw this special for the first time a month ago and 39:06 is my favorite scene, 17 & 18 taunting a terrified Trunks, there's no escape, Trunks is completely powerless against them and the music is so good. That song is from the Lord Slug movie, it's M1120B if anyone's wondering.
IDKY why Mr. Popo never told Gohan about the room of spirit and time. In one day, Gohan and Trunks would’ve been enough for the androids. In TWO DAYS (the room’s limit) the androids would have no shot 😢and what happened to King Kai?!!
Maybe the lookout was demolished by the androids? And king Kai probably tried to warn the z fighters but to no avail since you know how they are once they made up their minds.
In the Manga they only used 50% of their power when they killed Gohan. However, it’s impressive considering Gohan didn’t have any resources, a sparring partner, gravity training, or any training in the time chamber.
@@angelmaldonado5657 Exactly. Even if the base was still there and she recovered the plans, Bulma was more focused on the time machine than working on the arm. If Gohan could just recover fully after she finished, she would have worked on that arm for him.
@@Cmon_ How would Trunks have done that? Namek was blown to bits by Frieza long before Trunks was even born. Even if that was possible the Namekian dragon Porunga can only wish one person back despite having 3 wishes to your disposal. As far as I know, only Shenron (The Earth Dragon) has the ability to wish multiple people back from a specific death as long as it wasn't from natural causes.
Kami is the one that brings it up in the timeline we know... and piccolo and them didn't know they would die. So there wasn't time to be like they are too strong let's merge.. it happened too fast.. and when he died so did kami.. and the dragon balls.
@@Cmon_Mate, how could he get to New Namek? They don't have one and even if they do, they need a spaceship and clearly not enough spare parts were around to make one. Also, they'd need new directions to find it.
This soundtrack is different from the one on VHS from when I watched back when I was 6 years old. I remember Gohan's initial appearance being so incredible with the good rock riff alternative.
This movie was really dark but showed different side of the story and this is what happens in real life too you have to get over and improving yourself for the next challenge
