Dragon Sd.Kfz.252 is a halftrack kit, new tooling /mixed with old sprues/, released in the beginning of 2017. The kit is with 410+ parts and features Magic Tracks, full interior, four camo schemes and ammunition trailer. Dragon kit number is 6718 and is a perfect add-on to the newest early StuGs from DML released during 2016.
The camo schemes are for three dark grey vehicles from Eastern Front 1942 and one two-tone camo scheme from an unidentified unit - 1943. The vehicle is featured in several photographs as winter camo scheme with white wash and it is very nicely suited for heavy weathering.
Besides the regular sprues, there are bonus ones which contains a lot of parts suitable for other WWII German vehicles, diorama add-ons or vignettes. The price of the kit is relatively high, but that is due to the fact that at the time of the video upload the kit was still new on the shelves. Within several months after the release date, the prices will go lower.
Sd.Kfz.252 is relatively small vehicle, not suitable for beginner modelers, especially with the workable Magic Tracks. They are only few millimeters in length and can cause a lot of hassle for newbies.
Dragon Sd.Kfz.252 is a part of Dragon's long line of wonderful halftracks and is very good OOTB choice as a stand-alone kit or as a part of a diorama.
Dragon Sd.Kfz.252 is probably the first of a line of similar newly tooled vehicles that are about to be released from Dragon, based on Sd.Kfz.250 half-track.
