Public announcement: his diverter is a little different from most, so if looking to drain your pool check a different video containing multi function diverter with labels, and those you always want to shut the pump off since weaker internals.
Pentair has a feature which allows you to drain an attached SPA to clean it the and then fill it back up with water from the pool. Can you explain how to do this?
Hi i do not have valves like this so how do i continue draining water when it is under skimmer level? The only thing i have is two holes inside my skimmer with movable cap to block one of the two holes at a time. When using my pool, both holes are opened. When vacuuming i need to block one hole. I dont know if it can help. Thank you in advance.
I need to drain my pool… similar Pentair setup with Quad De and dual Intelliflows, but there is NO WASTE SPIGOT! Can I connect the hose directly to the drain on the Quad filter? I need to run it to the sewer.
I don’t get it…… my pool has two drains in the deep end, so I need to hook a hose up & drain the water out on to the street. It doesn’t just go underground somewhere out the two drains 🤔
I couldn’t identify which one is the main drain. After draining through the skimmer , both directions don’t seem to work. I tried for a minute each. But water is draining really slow once the skimmers are done
I know everyones piping is differnt .My ? is can you drain your entire pool with your hose in the skimmer hole and the other end at the bottom of pool and with your valve on. waste.
I hate to correct a professional but you NEVER leave your pump on while turning the switch to waste/backwash/fliter, etc. You shut the pump OFF, turn the switch to waste, etc., roll your hose out before or after, it doesn't matter, and then turn ON your pump. YOU ALWAYS SHUT YOUR PUMP OFF!
B Richards why is this so important? I see a lot of people on videos NOT doing it? I’m not being facetious or rude, asking a serious question about the effects.
I think you are talking about when you do it directly from the filter- for example a sand filter - the cartridgefilter doesn't have the same thing as those so in this case its not the same.
It's not so simple as that I drain my pool dry no problem the first time then it rained put water back in my pool I turn the pump back on will not pump any water out of the pool
I don't think so. Why would you spend on additional sub pump if your stock system has the drain valve as per design? It also will drain it 10x faster, and most modern pumps has running dry shutoff protection.
There is nothing wrong with what he is doing. This is the best way to take excess water out of a pool, unless you have a gas powered trash pump. As long as you can isolate the main drain and no water is being drawn in through the skimmers, it will be fine. There are precautions that should be taken if draining a fiberglass pool. In ground gunite pools can be drained without fear, as long as the ground is not saturated with water. This creates hydrostatic pressure that can float the pool out of the ground. Not all systems have a waste line. But they should.
You are absolutely correct on that! For instance, he left the pump on while changing from filter to waste, etc. You always shut your pump off when doing anything like this.
