this was my childhood game and i'm happy to see people remember it. it sparked my love for video games and the fantasy genre and it will always have a special place in my heart
I've never forgotten the peasant mercilessly skewered in the throat in intro as he begs for his life on his knees. The sound he makes when pierced made the scene leave a strong impression on my young mind. There's also the guy being interrogated on a rack, later on.
This, Gothic and LOTR Fellowship of the ring (2001 game) are in the same category for me. Very similar ambient and music, all great games! It's a shame LOTR and Drakan aren't on GOG though...
Man a special game to me in many ways ... I feel so much melancholy when I play it or hear the soundtrack, the second game I want to play so badly as well but it was only ps2 sadly. I learn the very first song on this soundtrack on keyboard right now and it is just masterfully crafted like the rest of the game. Just one downside, I wonder if the developer may had shortcomings of money during the development of the game because the deep story and lore and everything vanished around the succubus lair level. Anyone else has that impression? That the game rushes to an abprubt ending from there on. Like the devs had more in mind but could not do it?
I, for one, would deeply appreciate it if you were to list the track names (or at least the context in which each song plays) in the description or here in the comments.
Well I played it. There are Drakan gameplay vids on this channel too :P. Perhaps PC had not exact the same tracks as console? Cause these were definetely all Tracks on my version.
@@OMGtheykilledKenny42 Rynn's gameplay loop: 1) Sneak and pray 2) Snipe with arrow, instantly run out of ammunition 3) Panic and run back to dragon 4) Die in two hits
@@OMGtheykilledKenny42 If you get hit by a waraxe on hard mode you lose around 2/3 of your HP or something and some enemies just straight up insta-kill you. Overall very balanced.
@@gladrasberry4359 yeah, she relies on agility. Even holding the secondary attack button to parry only reduces so much damage. Shields in the ancients' gates help a lot.
