Your page is amazing, any chance of getting a Bo Nix all throws and runs? If you are doing other things do not worry about a Nix video. I am not trying to cause you more work.
+ Good athleticism + Good vision as a ball carrier + Keeps eyes downfield when outside the pocket + Multiple arm angles + Endzone mentality ± Only asked to make simple reads (RPOs, one-read throws, specific parts of the field) - Hyperactive footwork - Rarely throws with an established base - Drifts towards pressure in the pocket - Slower release - Misses layups - Doesn't have "WR friendly" accuracy - Needs to protect himself more
I agree with most of this. Reminds me of a more athletic JLove. Specifically the arm angles, hyperactive footwork, and shaky accuracy. Overall love his profile still.
@@calvincoleman7543 his arm is overrated. the ball looks weird coming out of his arm due to his funky sidearm like release (hence the reason many of his throws are absolute wobbly ducks that go straight into the turf)
So much upside but he has to go to the right team who are gonna be patient with him and actually coach him up with fans who will stick by him if he has a rough start. Josh Allen kinda looked like him in the pocket when he first joined the bills and had a couple of not so good seasons before we finally started seeing how good he is.
Maye is an adequate post snap decision maker and looks to make the big play on every play or looks to run instead of taking what is there. 1:05 why not hit the RB in the flat? 1:40 why not hit the WR in flat after DB falls down? 1:26:39 hit the RB in the flat. He takes brutal hits due to adequate processing on coverage changes (4:25)(19:57) or blitzes (40:51)(41:56). He has marginal set up mechanics (16:47)-he is rarely ready to throw-making a decision than preparing to throw rather than being ready and throwing once decision is made resulting in late throws or throws off target (42:38 why leave feet?)(42:25)(1:25:05). Drifts in the pocket when not necessary (27:41)(1:25:28) (1:26:29). He has adequate accuracy overall and will miss throws that should be made leaving you scratching your head (1:26:14)(1:27:12)(1:30:02) than make the highlight throws with good arm strength (23:47)(43:38)(1:17:39). Good ability to go off script due to arm strength and good athleticism (12:10)(1:18:23). Good physical and competitive toughness (11:23) and looks to squeeze out every inch possible. FINAL: This offense didn't have the OL or skill positions players to run the intermediate/deep routes needed and Maye looked uncomfortable in the pocket. He needs a lot of work with his set up mechanics if he is going to be in a timing based offense requiring him to make throws on time in the pocket. He does make the highlight play with his arm strength and athleticism and should be in a balanced offense with heavy mis-direction and bootlegs until he gets more comfortable in the pocket. He needs development time and I would have a hard time convincing my GM he is a 1st round talent at this point.
These are awesome, over here in Australia we didn’t get all college games and I wasn’t sure who Washington will take between Drake and JD. Still don’t but I’m leaning towards JD imo
Something weird about his throwing motion but it works. Real good player that I think can boom in the league with some better talent at receiver. Hard to fully compare him to Caleb and Jayden.
idk i think he has every tool possible he has to learn a nfl offense but I think he has every single tool an NFL coach would want he has mobility height weight arm strength I think Jayden daniels is the better QB rn but long term if im an NFL coach I want drake maye
Am I the only one that's not really impressed with Drake Maye? I know he wasn't in the most ideal situation. But his pocket presence is not great, his footwork is meh and he makes alot of questionable decisions. I think he needs to go somewhere where his game can be refined and polished But I think he's gonna end up somewhere like new england and it's gonna ruin him
@@lukiepookie6227 I wouldn't call his issues "easily fixable", they are far from that. We've seen a million QB's come into the league with "they just need a little more coaching" and it still doesn't pan out. He's got some pretty glaring issues to his game and he's incredibly polarizing (far from a consensus top pick). I think he's a trap prototype that is going to be very, very volatile. He could go 2nd overall, or he could go in the teens after a surprise fall, and I could see cases for both.
@@lukiepookie6227 People said that about Will Levis so much that he showed up to the draft, only to fall to round 2. Maye could see a little slide, for sure. He's the classic prototype that someone will swoon over and regret. But there's a world where teams don't fall for it and it goes Caleb, Jayden, JJ and he makes it out of the top 10. I wouldn't bet on it with the Vikings, Broncos, and Raiders all waiting in the wings, but there's a world where it happens. He's mid af, today, and needs A LOT of time to grow.
He's definitely a playmaker and he generally protects the ball, but I'm coming here straight after the Daniels tape and everything he does is just slower than JD. He could totally take the Jordan Love route and be even better than Love! But why do that if you can pick Jayden Daniels? JD is better at almost everything imo. Maye is let down a lot by his receivers, but he lets THEM down more often with so many missed passes! If I had to pick JD or Maye to lead a methodical drive to win the game, while Maye has it in him, I'm picking Daniels for sure. Maye definitely has higher bust potential of the two.
What does Daniels do better. Things I think Daniels does better: -footwork -release -scrambling(close) -slightly more accurate Maye is better at -arm strength -reading defense -protecting himself -deep ball -zip -strength -scrambling after contact and breaking tackles -size Daniels is better at things that take time and coaching. Doesnt do any of the talent things better than Maye. I have top 5 grade on Maye and late first on Daniels
I like the timing, the arm, the arm angles, the aggressiveness downfield, the accuracy (most of the time), the running, the size and toughness. This guy looks good. The mistakes are small and look fixable to me, and he's doing a lot with unimpressive weapons. Ok, I think I've been too hard on Drake Maye, now that I watch each play by play and not just the high lights and errors. He gets overconfident in his arm at times for sure, but that can also be reeled in and underlies a very strong confidence in his arm talent. From now on I'm going to have to agree with most of his fans and I see far too many high level positives to worry about his negatives. I only watched the first two games but from what I can see so far I would draft this guy high in the first round. Looks like he's going to be a very good QB to me, or at least has a lot of potential. Yeah, the media has "nit - picked" him a bit too much, I agree. 😎
i have never seen a QB look so good with such bad weapons like no route runners mfs are dropping wide open catches lol damn drake is him for making this offense look good lol
@@Silencer21 fair but I don't think it matters when u r just talking about a prospect and what they could do. Because I'm just thinking of it as put Maye on LSU and let's see
Main impression: His team is terrible and he is doing his best. He misses some open people but his team does not help him at all and puts the ball where he can.
Incredible arm+velocity, deep ball is absurdly accurate. Intermediate wise there's issues throwing behind and leading receivers out of bounds. Great runner and pocket feel. OL+ drops did him no favors
Anyone that cannot see how and why he is going to be an epic bust needs to go pray to GOD the almighty father to help you see the light. To me, it is as obvious as if some human was walking around with neon orange skin. #TimCouch #RyanLeaf #Akili Smith
At 2:07 he has a receiver open deep for an easy score & misses seeing it so he goes underneath. This is the primary issue concerning him...his processing speed & ability to diagnose defenses. The offense he played in did not train him for the NFL. If he succeeds at the nest level it will require a coach & a fan base that is patient. I don't see him as a ready made starter yet.
Every physical tool u could imagine… but man so much inconsistent accuracy. Weird long throwing motion…. In his defense He played with terrible oline and WRs. This kid could be a superstar in 5 years or out of the league…
A few of my takes are: 1. Without Maye this NC squad is a 2 win team. 2. The kids O-line was dog 💩. Scouts are tearing this man’s footwork but he never had time to set his feet. 3. Real ballers don’t wear finger nail polish 🤣 that said he’ll be the best QB in the draft!
@@Silencer21 Tell me how they are not similar lmao. Both have a high pressure to sack ratio, don’t throw over the middle of the field, and take off running way too often when they are pressured instead of looking to throw on the run.
He's so difficult to evaluate because of how bad the surrounding talent and scheming were. He has the potential to do well in a competent offense, but it's hard to say.
I see an elite thrower. The only one better than him coming since 2010 that I have seen out was Justin Hebrert .Hebert threw better short and intermediate but Maye throws better deep. This the best DEEP thrower I done ever seen after Tom Brady. Stats lie. Those throws are money. He has processing issues (which are not major) but as far as throwing this dude got it all.
I see a young developing QB who came out of college too early. I don't believe that he is a better passer than Jayden Daniels or J.J. McCarthy and he is certainly not as athletic as both.
I watched this, then went to Pat Mahomes and Josh Allen college tape, and back, and it's clear that this guy is far below those guys. He's a the typical "Ooh he's got a strong arm who can also run" but plays with bad technique, cant read defenses, and makes boneheaded plays. He's not Josh Allen or Justin Herbert. He's Will Levis. He's Giovanni Carmazzi. He's Drew Henson without the baseball career.
@@jamezmorales4896 Appreciate your optimism. I took a wait and see approach with Nkeal Harry, Cole Strange, Sony Michel, and Isaiah Wynn and that didn't work out well. Honestly, I was hoping for AJ Brown or DK in 2019 (they could have gotten both), Nick Chubb and Lamar Jackson in 2018, Kenneth Murray in 2020 (I was wrong, Dugger is better). I liked the Mac Jones pick and still thought he could be a good QB but Bill ruined him
