I work in adolescent mental health. This popped up in my feed and when I recognized the name I had to watch some of it. I loved listening to the stories. Here I am a stranger in Texas crying and laughing at stories about this beautiful soul. Seems like there was nothing small about him. He was so full of positive energy, love, and perseverance! We don't understand everything in this world but one thing I know for sure is that we will all be together again one day. We are just passing through this world and on our way to paradise.
We are strangers and for some reason, I watched sweet Drayke's funeral in its entirety. This was a week ago and I continue to be deeply moved by all of you. Thank you for showing us how a funeral should be - filled with laughter, truths, pain and much beauty and love. The constant touching and kissing of Drayke is so beautiful, I hope you know how you've touched strangers in your awful grief.
There is something about the death of a child that brings us together, it is as though the child’s love stays and is expressed by those that help and support the berieved, by doing things to help them I believe we are making the child feel at peace if they can look down and see kindness xxx❤
I am broken for this family. I too lost my son to suicide May 2020. He was 28yrs old and had so much to live for. He was so loved and now so missed by so many people. Our Son's shared the same empathy and love for others but sadly in his younger years he was bullied for his kind heart too. My son silently took this hurt into his adult years until he could no longer hide it. The world is less fortunate with the loss of Drayke and my boy Ryan but much like your family I will continue to say his name and tell his story. God bless because this shit is hard 💔
My son too was bullied, his isolation led him down some wrong paths despite all the support and love we tried to give, and he turned down the dark road and at 32 it all caught up to him. I truly understand your pain. Our voices of love could not drown out the inner voice he had of self loathing, fear and insecurity. He numbed his pain, but it was never enough. We didn’t understand why he refused help, but we accepted it. Only now do I understand that it was a pain that there was no cure for. I am still trying to accept that he was tired and just wanted to go home. My condolences to you and your family.
I'm sorry to hear about your son. I'm 32 and have been struggling with life ever since I was a kid. As of lately I've been trying to be more vocal and speak out. Did your son ever get diagnosed with GAD or MDD?
@@vd41091 He was a premie, but could speak full sentences before he was 2. Read at the 7th grade level at 6, but never fit in with any piers. So he found some not so great influences via means that we were very naive about back then. He was likely BPD. He hid things very well. He even managed to get through 3 years of university. There is so much we didn’t know in the last 8 years of his life. As much as we tried, he always chose the drugs over us. He wrote about it in a letter his sister found. He said drugs were his family. I still feel guilty. I’m always going to think I missed something.

Aw I shed a tear looking at his older sister crying in the beginning of the video. Poor thing :( And his parents having to look at their sons open casket. This is beyond heartbreaking. I remember what it was like being 12 years old too and just at that middle school age having to endure all of that bullying. I remember how much I dreaded going to school. @Charles Sparkles Hi Charles. I lost my beloved younger brother to suicide. We adored him. He his his depression. The agony of those left behind is indescribable. So many questions. So much guilt. Questioning, over and over, what did we miss? What could we have done differently? There are no answers. We have to accept that he is in Heaven. We will forever honour his life and love the memories. There is so much help out there. Please ask for it.
I was never blessed with children so I can't imagine the pain of losing a person who shared your soul for 9 months and shared your heart every day until their passing. Having worked in a hospital for the first few years after college, I've been witness to other people's losses. I'd always felt especially bad when it was a child or a young person that was lost--it seems so unnatural that a parent should have to bury a child, whether that child is an infant or grown. I know that there's truly nothing I can say to ease the pain of your loss, but I do know this; for as long as you live, the memories of the time you shared will live within your heart and mind until you close your eyes to this world for the last time. I don't know if you're a religious family, but I like to think his absence is only temporary and that somewhere, he'll be waiting for you. My prayers go with you all.
Even as a mother who has also lost a child…I cannot imagine the pain & grief that his parents will always go through. This absolutely BREAKS my heart! The memory of my sons funeral is such a blur because I didn’t want to believe that it was really happening… I just pray that his momma and daddy will be able to come to understand that this was not their fault. This doesn’t seem fair nor does anyone want to be told that “it gets better” or “it was their time”. I just pray that they can heal with time & always keep the memories of him alive…❤🙏🏼

As a mother, I know how your feeling. I saw my 10 yr old son Kyle get run over in front of my home by a 16 yr old neighbor. My son had those baby blue eyes and love so much. I experienced the kisses the hugs and laughter. My son was all about soccer. Listening to you speak about your son brought so many memories that I have locked in my heart. He was my blonde hair blue eyed freckle baby boy. I thank God for the 10 yrs he gave him to us. I know he is my angel looking down on me. Kyle's death took such a toil on our family that it broke us apart. One good thing that came from his death. I got a law passed in his memory Kyle's house bill 87. Me and Tom Everson of KKAD25. Keep kids alive drive 25. This bill allows cities to lower residential streets to 25 without expensive traffic studies. My heart and prayers are with you. I personally tried suicide 8 times. I here for a reason. I'm here for a reason. I have 2 others son's a grand daughter and another due in July. My ex husband died in 2018 of overdose alcohol. Kyle died on Halloween 2003. He loved Halloween. Not a day goes by that I don't think about him. I want to thank you for sharing his life story. I cried many tears listening. Please know your not alone. Both our sons are in heaven.

People at these schools need to take it more serious! My grandson is being bullied . This is his second yr . My daughter has been in meetings at the school . Where she is told that it's not that bad. But children can be so cruel! They've cut his hair on the bus .. they have called him terrible names . When he speaks up for himself then he is in trouble! I pray this family is doing ok today. What an absolutely beautiful loving family. Their strength is incredible. When I lost my son in 2020 I was numb and emotionally shattered to even think about speaking. I often regret not doing so. God is all in and throughout this room. His sisters are amazing. May the Lord continue to hold the hearts of all who loved this precious baby boy. I know their pain all to well, lost my son 5 years ago. He succumbed to injuries that he sustained in Iraq in 2007. The hardest journey I have ever had to endure. May you feel God's comfort and strength as you walk through this journey. God Bless all of you!!

I didn’t know Drayke at all. I’m a 58 yr. Old woman who lives in Tennessee. I seen his funeral on RU-vid and was so touched by his story. I cried the whole time watching his funeral. My heart is absolutely broken for his family. I pray for the lord to give you all strength, comfort, love , peace and to heal your hearts from this tragedy. For some reason this came up (probably because I had viewed some things that had to do with funerals). I had decided to watch this because of the stories families especially with a child. You guys truly painted a picture for us of your son. Though kids can be just kids with energy or test our patience for reasons to them they can also be very sweet and loving and some have mastered it more quickly than others. Thank you for sharing your story with us. I am so sorry for your loss! I watched my mom lose two different adopted daughters at different times, they both were 4yrs. old when passed as a matter of today was the anniversary of one of their deaths. I wished my mom would have met with families like yours to work through her grief. Please continue to share Drayke's life story.🥰

Unfortunately, I know this pain too well my beautiful boy whom was so much like Drayke kind, funny, always putting others ahead of themselves died by suicide in December 2019. I have been watching this services and I keep coming up with the same thought over and over and that is boy this little dude really was so special so very special to his mom and dad his sisters friends teachers hairdresser you name it he was a special little man; but the saddest thing of all this is that he knew he was loved he knew that people cared for him and that they would do anything for him; he was so special that he never let anyone know of the pain he must have been carrying inside him, he was to busy making sure that everyone around him were happy were having a good time, were having fun, that they were not sad. But this little boy took on so much, that eventually it was to much for his little mind to cope with. But as adults we must look upon this child and say "see that is what love is that is what caring about people is all about this boy was all about teaching and that fact of the matter is this kid did not have to live 80 or 90 years in order to impart wisdom and love and care and to show the value of just being there as an ear to listen to someone crying out in pain he didn't have to live a long life in order to give advice and be listen to. The saddest part of this story I think is that this little boy had so many people that would have done anything to take this kids pain away but he was so special he just didn't want anyone to have anyone that he loved to have to take on his pain he didn't want them to have to shoulder his pain. But this kid has taught so many adults and teenagers and adolescents and little kids he has gotten his words across be kind be kind be caring don't hate you can get so much further in life being kind and helpful. In this world of hate and violence God we need these kids to survive their young lives in order to make this fu ked up world a better place. May God bless your family mate, your friends, your team mates, and may you look down on all of them honey and protect them baby. Thankyou for the message that I got loud and clear from your service. I am profoundly sorry for your loss. I lost my son at 6 weeks of pregnancy 9 years ago (and I STILL cry) and now I have a beautiful 8 year old daughter and I am so scared for her everyday because children can be really cruel. I cry all the time just imagining anything happening to her. If my daughter was ever bullied I think I would be going to prison. No child deserves that EVER! I didn’t not know your son but I can deeply feel your pain. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and I know he will be watching you from heaven ❤️
My sincerest condolences. The way you all are taking this head on and using your sweet boy's name to send a valuable, crucial message to our world is touching and bold. I wouldn't dare to claim that this very tragic trade off is "worth it", but it is nonetheless inspiring to witness and it brings a tear to my eye. Bless you all.

My sincerest condolences 💐 It’s outcomes like these that fuel my anger towards the act of bullying. I have dedicated my research to those who are victims of and succumbed to bullying. I will continue to advocate the cause & sincerely hope Drayke has found the peace he deserved on Earth. 💙
I despise bullies myself. But as I got older, I've realized that those who bully, are the ones who have the insecurities. It's their jealousy, the propels them to pick on someone who has what they will never have. Sometimes, I wonder what the dynamic is in the home, which the bully is raised. In any case, kids that drive another to take his or her life, bc of nonsense like this, do not know what grief & sadness they visit on another's family. It needs to stop.
