Dread RPG | Echoes - A Comedy Horror Survival Story 

Don't get me wrong we love to run Dread, but it is one of the more intensive story prep games for me. Add all the editing and other GMing I do, just makes it harder to find time to build these stories.

Glad to hear you enjoyed! I talked about this episode in our last Couch Time Vlog about how I think this is the funniest video we've made yet! We have a lot of other content that's pretty ridiculous but for me this holds a special place in my strained from laughing sides.

I just love how in the beginning everyone is laughing and then it just goes down and by the end everyone is like "oh shit!"

That's how our other Dread gameplay went as well, Boomtown USA. And I think in this one everyone was saying "Oh shit!" because Sterling fed a child to the heart of darkness or something XD

I talk about this Dread in more depth in our most recent Couch Time - 100 episodes and about how much harder it is to make content for Dread for me vs some of the other systems. I'd love to do more one shots but running two campaigns at once is pretty time consuming on top of everything else. Here's hoping I get another one in soon (hopefully this summer)!

M. Sie´s Channel Thanks! So this was our first live stream and we used a different software for that stream. The software has a noise gate that doesn't pick up the softer tones (for streamers and room tone reasons). It dropped everything that wasn't accompanied with voice. Hope it didn't throw you off too much. This is also the only video on the channel with this problem

yeah sterling is awesome, especially in star wars. I also like how Kathy's characters shamelessly try to bang everybody, but i feel like in a real life horror situation I would want Cash there. to you know have common sense or something.

Worth the watch. Spoilers I'm a little sad the tower was knocked over off screen but what can you do. Sterling is 2-0, somehow emerging a survivor once more even after feeding a child to the mirror.

So we played 2 games of Dread before starting the YT channel and Sterling was just awful in both games. The second we point a camera at him he's a damn natural! Also I really wish I would have remade the tower and just made Katie pull like 10 from the tower and just kept playing as normal. One of my big GM regrets as of late.

The audio problem was because we had preformed this as our very first liveplay on Twitch to kick off our Patreon page. Our inexperience with the software created a noise floor that filtered out the bottom of the audio, which was mostly the ambient music. We absolutely understand that it's not ideal and it is not present in a single one of our other videos because of that problem and solution. The pulls might not make much sense at first, but for me Dread and many of the other games we play on this channel is truly about trying to tell the best story with games as our resolution mechanics. Not games with exact mechanics that lead to storytelling opportunities. We often morph rulesets to best suit our table's playstyle and in this case and the case of our other Dread playthroughs, we use the number of pulls to represent the danger of the situation or the actions as well as the resolution of the actions as well. Every player that sits down for one on of our Dreads knows that it will start out incredibly slow and ramp up to insanity by the end. This is not terrible in line with the game's ruleset either, but is more a result of Martin not wanting someone sitting out of the game too long after their death. So we start out slow and ramp up to a bloodbath by the end as part of our playstyle and part of the production that is Nerds and Stuff role playing games. Ultimately we all approach the table wanting to have a great time and tell the best story possible for us and our audience and that changes the way we play games. Less of nerds in a basement playing a game and more of a mix of game and performance. Hope this sheds some light on your understanding of our games and stories. =D

Awesome to hear that you were able to fix the music for later videos, getting ready to sit down to watch the Boomtown game in a couple of minutes. Maybe not the best idea as I'm planning to go to bed soon! My co-host and I are planning to run a few games of Dread over on our channel, sometime in the near(ish) future, as a promotion for a book of scenarios we're in the process of creating... hopefully we'll be able to avoid some of these issues for our first time! If anyone from Nerds and Stuff decide to swing by after it goes up to take a look, we'd love any advice you may be able to give us moving forward! If Nerds and Stuff has a P.O. Box, we'd love to send over a copy once it gets finished up! The pulls make a lot more sense now, now that I know how Martin runs his games! I was getting really confused by the end why people were having to do so many pulls for simple actions, haha. The timers were a great touch though, it really emphasized the intensity of the situations the players were encountering! Keep up the awesome work and the awesome storytelling, we're definitely going to keep our eyes peeled for more Dread games from you all in the future!
