DreamCastGuy: "Xbox are stupid for not bringing Call of Duty to GamePass! 😂" Also DreamCastGuy: "Xbox are bringing Call of Duty to GamePass because they're desperate! 😂" OMFG, you just can't win with DreamCastGuy! 😂 Or should I say... PlayStationGuy 🤣...
Question: I know that not having growth is a problem in that scene right, but if Gamepass remains profitable why would they shut it down? That's just throwing away x amount of millions for no gain
They're probably gonna tone down on the major third party day 1 releases on the service and have them added months later to cut costs to keep the profits high
The thing I keep seeing is the more they spend to put games on gamepass the higher the price of gamepass will be. I personally don’t have gamepass anymore but I did like it when I did. I think the problem becomes why should I spend 60+ on a game that I can get on gamepass day one and not everyone will do this but if people stopped buying the games the companies lose money. I think this is why they are starting to put games on other consoles now because if Sony or Nintendo want to play it’s full price instead of the price of gamepass ( I don’t know what the price is currently for it)
The thing about the 5:1 IS NOT TRUE! It's a misleading piece of information! Only ONE TRIMESTER that Sony got 5:1 PS5 solds against Xbox, but the general number is still about 2:1.
I believe there was an actual article talking about that; Like over half comes from in-game microtransactions: They're not gonna lose money by any stretch.
Yes exactly, it's a obvious W for Microsoft between people buying the game, the ones paying gamepass every month for COD and the ones who'll spend more on microtansactions because gamepass makes them feel like they don't pay that much
I have a friend who dumped ungodly amounts of money into the micro transactions in CoD. I also tend to buy a lot of superfluous content. I probably spent $500+ on DbD cosmetics over the years.
These Ponies act like this wasn't the plan from the start. Last I heard, GP is profitable, just not growing. Xbox is about to turn CoD sales into GP subs.
Xbots act like they’re going to magically get good games without paying for them, from a company that could care less about the quality of what they release on their subscription
@@proggz39. You literally have to pay for the subscription be it with actual cash or Microsoft Points; You would know this if you did basic research, fanboy. Cope and seethe!
And yeah, it's the worst thing for Xbox and Microsoft, they only got 20% increase in their market value this year... 2% of that just in the last 5 days... While Sony is going strong, only losing 8,3% of value this year... Dreamcast is just a clown...
And then he posted a video "THIS GAME SUCKS!" about Hellblade 2... Everyone knew he was going to be negative about the game, but now he's just trying to seek attention. It's exactly like Hellblade 1... just better graphics. If you hated the first one, why even "review" this one? I'm genuinely not even convinced he beat it.
Small correction Klutzy as of February THIS YEAR Game Pass has 34m subscribers which is up from the last count of 25m from 2 years ago, I don't know about you but I'd call 9m extra subs in 2 years growth, now it's perhaps not as much growth as Microsoft wants but it's growth nonetheless and I feel confident in saying that the addition CoD will help Game Pass grow significantly, now if I am wrong I'll take my L.
The fact that you can hear this dude talk through his nose, but can also hear he has the ABILITY TO NOT TALK THROUGH HIS NOSE really bothers me every time I hear his voice😭🤣
"Can't take everything a business says at face value" Except when it comes to earnings reports to its stockholders, those by law need to be able to be taken at face value. Dreamcast Guy however has never spoken an honest word in his life. XBox is just fine, it is the Pony crowd cowering in fear since Sony is rapidly going broke, and losing any 3rd party deals, with nothing first party for another year....
People are really set on the idea of Microsoft raising the price of Game Pass because of ONE game, which is astonishing. We'll see, but I have a funny feeling they won't
Dreamcastguy talks like a 78-y/o man om a nursing home who walks up to you while your visiting your grandparents and tells you a pointless story, and won't catch the hit that you don't want him there.
No mention of microtransactions from DCG, which is the real moneymaker for CoD and not game sales lol. Im sure the people who are happy to not spend $70 will be perhaps a bit more willing to pay at least that in MTX. Warzone being free doesn't hurt it. Also Xbox is being outsold 5-1 was for the quarter. Ps5 is estimated to still outsell 2-1 worldwide. To add, Playstation is counting PSVR2 and PS Portal as "PS5 consoles" in their numbers, and not as PS5 accessories. They said that out of their own mouths. So in regards to how many.."traditional" PS5 consoles have been sold since the PSVR2 launched, we honestly don't know because they are inflating it with the ssles of non essential accessories.
Thank u there’s what close to 30m Xbox’s and they really think there’s 150m ps sold when even their #’s say about 52 or so and I don’t even trust those #’s because they got caught counting portals and their vrs as console sales
Oh my lord Xbox can't win with these people. I never thought they would...but anything good = Xbox Bad anything bad = Xbox Bad....WHERE'S THE COMMON GROUND?!
DCG's long career as a top level gaming markets guru and investment titan should serve as a warning to those wet behind the ears executives at Microsoft.
What I dont see mentioned enough is that Microsoft will now be getting the majority of the revenue from Playstation COD sells and Playstation customers' microtransactions. I hearing 70% of each purchase getting reported around the internet. Not counting the revenue from PC players and (eventually) Nintendo when COD launches on it. In 2022 it was reported in microtransactions alone COD pulled in 5.8 billion that year. Basically, what I'm getting at is yes, Microsoft can afford to put it on Gamepass, just fine.
Amazing how one of Walter White's customers living in his mom's basement thinks a company famous for its subscription services won't be able to sustain a subscription service.
I'm not sure how many people have gamepass ultimate, but at 500,000 ultimate users alone, that's 102,000,000 in a year. If we do just regular gamepass with 34 million subscribers, it's at 4,080,000,000 in a year. So they're making at least more than that.
Why does no reaction channel understand retention and churn rate. I subscribed to GamePass 2 years ago and have been on the Ultimate Plan since then. I've spent more on GamePass than on video games. Have I bought less games? Yes! And I'm happy I don't have to buy a game for £60 and be disappointed bt it. GamePass churn rate is probably quite high, meaning people sign up for a month or two and cancel because they just wanted to play a specific game. The gamer pays 1/3 of the price for a game they want, finish it in a month and cancel until another one comes alone and they resuscribe. Also when subs cancel other take their place. It's always ebb and flow when it comes to these types of services. Some people leave and others take their place so it might not look like it's growing, it's sustainable.
maybe people don't know but it actually already helped xbox cause when it was announced that black ops was going to gamepass xbox had a big surge in sales from Amazon
I feel your pain on the kidney stone.... I had one last year. I couldn't urinate it out so I had to get surgery. Worst pain I have ever had for 5 months, especially 2 days before my surgery it moved and 95% of it finally moved to my bladder but a small portion of it still remained in my ureter tube causing a painful spasm.
People dont seem to understand how game pass works, 70$ they get a lot of money up front but what people dont understand that not all people buy games every month, some only buy a game once or twice in a few months or a year but with game pass they get continue revenue every month even if the consumer doenst buy a game.
DreamCastGuy: how dare Xbox put COD on Game Pass Also DreamCastGuy: quit complaining about being forced to create a PSN account to play Helldivers 2 on PC. What a hypocrite
Dreamcast guy is very smart. He outsmarted the system by realizing every subscription service eventually raises the price. By how much? That's the question.
first omg people have to realize that it's not just about growth it's about microtransactions too so it's people that buys blacks ops 6 and it's more subs for gamepass and it's all the microtransactions that people will buy cause that's actually what makes call of duty alot of money
why do people keep thinking that Microsoft cares more about console sales yes they wanna sells consoles but why is Microsoft a 3 trillion dollar company oh and they was 2 trillion dollar company last year they are a powerhouse because of software sales not hardware it has been like that since
I’m gonna rip DCG a new one when he’s proven wrong. lol COD on gamepass is their “last attempt” 😆 sure… Also, na. I think if WoW was added, it’d increase the sub count. COD won’t be the deciding factor. They have a big ass catalog they can addd (if they play that card)
World of Warcraft would be huge on Xbox, I'd bet. (Also, I'm willing to bet a Prototype reboot would be an easy sell to casuals since the whole point of the series is that you are very clearly NOT the good guy, which is what also caused it to stand out so well when it originally released in 2009.)
@@dragonbornexpress5650 dude… put all the Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero games on GP along with WoW… I’d bet my channel there’s a pretty big increase in sub numbers. Nostalgia SELLS.
Dreamcastguy will defend sony for raising the prices for NO reason while shading Xbox for doing it for a very valid reason. Thank you for calling this guy out again. He has completely lost his mind from the happy go lucky gamer persona he was doing years ago. Probably cause he knows hes been exposed.
Last number for gamepass i heard eas 30 million. Lets cut that to 20 million just to be safe. Then lets say that every sub only pays 10 bucks. Thats 2 billion a year. That pays for every single first party game that was released that year. All sales after that are profit.
At this point, I want MS and Xbox to take over the console industry entirely, not because I think that would be a good idea, but just so DCG can drop out of gaming news/commentary...
They might put it at 18.99, I think. Hopefully, cod won't sick the ship, but I think it might be a good thing so that way people can try it before buying it. It's what people want not to be forced to buy something, then be disappointed.
If gamepass wasn't profitable, IDK how long they'd try to push it, but they sure as hell wouldn't admit it wasn't profitable until AFTER it had been shut down and, more importantly, when asked before, they would give some corporate-speak-glittering-generality when asked if it was profitable. they would not say it was profitable, or deny it being unproitable. they'd just say a whole lot of nothing
Wait does dreamcastguy not know about cods freetoplay mode? Does he not know about just how popular it is? I don't understand how he could possibly think it's a bad idea.
Less money spent on the game, more money spent on micro transactions. COD is just a cash cow for milking that micro transaction in the game, it’ll be ridiculous.
And they'll be bring in all that from Xbox and Playstation, probably more from Playstation because they have to pay the full 70 while GP ppl will only pay 15 or whatever they jack the price to which is still less then what Sony players will play!
I don't think they will have to raise gamepass prices because since people won't need to buy cod and just use gamepass more people will spend money on dlc and micro transactions and possibly spend more money on them. Cod makes billions just on dlc and MT alone
I’ll give you a tip. I have ultimate game pass and I don’t pay a penny…. I use my Microsoft points and let it pay for itself. Therefore, I don’t spend a penny. I use Microsoft edge as my search engine on my PC so every time I’m using it, I’m constantly building points.
Damn, hope you’re feeling better! When it comes to sonyponyguy, dude is still mad MS acquired Activision. He forgets Xbox releases its games on several platforms already and it’s a strategy Sony has been copying because they’ve seen it works. I play my gamepass games on PC. I would like to see MS next console be some type of crazy handheld system with maybe a dock.
I thought this was going to be about his Hellblade 2 video. You have to cover that complete hypocrisy of a review. Hellblade 1 PS4 exclusive 9.5/10 Hellblade 2 Xbox 1st party game 4/10 he purposely lowered the score because it's an Xbox game. Go watch his Hellblade 1 review and then watch his Hellblade 2 review.
Gamepass Ultimate is $15 a month. If they have 35 million subscribers, then they're making $510 million a month and about $6.1 billion a year from the service. That is a lot of cash. Are they making a killer profits off it? That is a different question, perhaps not, as I assume the margins are thin when keeping the large library of games on there, but this idea that they need 50 million or 100 million subscribers to be profitable is probably not true. Those goals are more tied to the idea of increasing the profits of Gamepass, and to bringing more games to the service day one on release. If you own Microsoft shares, that is all you care about at the end of the day. Growth. However, will the service shut down if it fails to meet those lofty goals in the next few years, I doubt it. Also, his idea that COD on Gamepass will be a financial disaster makes me laugh. COD makes a killing off skins and seasonal content - they make hundreds of millions of dollars from it a year. Way more people play Warzone than the regular multiplayer and campaign at the moment. The 6-8 hour campaign typical of COD games is the perfect thing to have on Gamepass, and having COD on there will 100% increase subscribers. By how much, I am not certain, but people on PC that play COD will now have a serious reason to try Gamepass. The money making potential of all the skins and blueprints is why they released a free to play version of the game to begin with. To get more users to play and spend money on skins and weapon blueprints.
I hope that CoD is put on a premium Gamepass thing. It'll let people opt into the higher priced service so it's not forced on those who have no interest in CoD
You know what's so interesting it's just so interesting that he's the only one saying this but nobody else is saying this, let's just be honest Call of Duty could actually work on Game Pass if they promote Black Ops 6 on Game Pass more. And even if they do increase the price like Say $18 to $20 a month then let's just be honest it's still going to be fucking cheaper than PlayStation Plus by a milestone to play COD.
An important thing to note that PC game pass is not available in many regions around the world. Xbox not removing those restrictions will hurt potential sales. If those third world countries are not prepared to pay for a 70 dollar game, they are even less likely to buy it if you don't give them that game pass option.
I don't know if DCG believes half the stuff he says. Microsoft give up entirely on gaming. How does that make sense lol. Even if GP wasn't to work out they could just go third party, they have tons of studios and IP. It makes no sense why they would do that.
Its funny how many Ponys have such big opinions on Gamepass yet never once do they bring up there own dumpster fire known as PSPlus. Its yrs behind. COD will be on both as the 2nd is simply both Console and Pc gamepass at 1 price. How dence is this guy?
