I love the idea of viewing the story from a villains perspectives. Luffy really does just come off as an unhinged crackhead. Half the arcs are just the villain chilling on his way to acheiving their dream and then luffy just rolls up outta no where and starts throwing hands with EVERYONE.
This is why we love Luffy! I hardly know of other characters or people who confident and capable enough to take such initiative. The story happens because Luffy chases it, not because it happens to him
It’s actually insane how Doflamingo’s empire that he’d cultivated for decades at that point was undone by a rubber crackhead in the span of about 12 hours
Doffy: ok repeat after me do not Doffy’s crew: do not Doffy: get in a fight Doffy’s crew: get in a fight Doffy: with any of the straw hats Doffy crew: BUT DOFFY WE CAN TAKE THEM Doffy: NOOO
Senior Pink: “but he is a Man’s Man! It would be a disservice to our collective Manhood to *not* fight him.” Doffy: “no, that guy is a total nutcase and a pervert. I know you’re dressed like a baby because of… honestly one of the more tragic backstories I’ve heard for us OP villains, but you don’t have to act like you got the memory of an infant. DO. NOT. FIGHT. HIM.” Pica: “I can become absolutely humongous and coat my entire body in Armament! There’s no way they could defeat me!” Doffy: “pica, that crackhead’s right hand man casually cut through an entire pirate ship like he was Dracule Mihawk’s apprentice or something. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that he could easily wreck any stone body you make and find you *damn* fast. DO. NOT. FIGHT. HIM.”
Doffy being absolutely cool with Luffy until he realizes that Luffy is just an absolute menace to himself and society is the best take I've heard since "Katakuri laid down because he saw a future where he was being used as a jumprope."
I cannot get over how you consistently describe Luffy as a permanently high, semi-feral nightmare who's morality is based around who feeds him first, like he's some kind of crackoon.
*Doflamingo:* You've watched the Godfather, right? *Luffy:* Of course I have. *Doflamingo:* Great! Please explain to Law why- *Luffy:* Didn't really care for it. *Doflamingo:* ...What? *Luffy:* It insists upon itself.
I just want to say, I think Dressrosa is also hilarious from Law's perspective. He has this quite frankly amazing, Count of Monte Cristo tier plan to take down Doflamingo, and, despite himself, Luffy has actually been giving Law's plan a chance to do its thing instead of just gunning straight at Doffy. But, unfortunately for Law, Doffy's been doing this for a bit longer than he has, and he has an ace or two up his sleeve, so, against his wishes, they go to plan "Let Luffy run the ones with him," and guess what? It ends up working. Instead of all that nonsense, they could have just gone straight to operation "Throw Hands."
it's the same way with Whole Cake Island and Wano too if they just stuck to throw hands operation from the very beginning arcs like Wano, Dressrosa, Whole Cake Island, Enies Lobby, and Skypiea would be drastically cut shorter.
Look. There's a reason why oda works so hard to make sure luffy gets tied up in nearly every arc. It started with buggy and the cage. Getting lost in syrup was a little different but served the same purpose. Then there was the broken ship that made it harder for luffy to figure out hiw to fight at baratie. Gumgum pinwheel at arlong Park. It wasn't necessary at lougetown but that arc was really short. At reverse mountain, he got lost in laboon's weird stomach thing. Whiskey peak? Sleep. Little garden? Stuck under a rock to prevent intervention. Drum island? Too busy transporting nami then Too injured to move. Alabasta? That cage in raindinners. Jaya was also pretty short and wasn't a conflicted focused arc so luffy evaded capture then. In skypeia? He got eaten by Nola. In ennies lobby, tbh, the issue was more getting the keys, and once that was achieved, then he could go ahead with plan "throw hands" coz it was all well and good rescuing Robin, but those cuffs were gonna be a bit of an issue. Thriller Bark? Not only did he fall into a trap but he also lost his shadow. Moriah thought he had it good untill he decided to throw hands rather than sit safe and pretty till the morning, tho he didn't really help matters much by giving luffy's shadow to his most powerful zombie. That's all on moriah tbh. Amazon lily? He got stripped and put on display. Imepl down? Part of why he didn't get to ace in time was because he kinda got a little bit locked up for a minute there. He didn't get locked up at marineford, but it wasn't really necessary coz, as chaotic as he was, he was still really outta his depth. Sabaody was short enough for capture to not be necessary. Fishman Island? The ocean, and some of the other strawhats had their turn to be captured. Punk hazard? He got stuck in a cage with law. Dressrosa? Coliseum. Wholecake? That book. Wano? He had an entire mini training arc in prison. Its a pattern at this point.
@@RoronoaZoro-ur6hr eh I wouldn't say that for Wano and Whole Cake. Don't forget, Luffy got one shot by Kaido and luffy barely beat Katakuri. If he straight threw hands in those situations, then yeah it'd be much shorter, but that'd be because he would be dead.
I love the idea that Doflamingo is completely flabbergasted by Viola betraying him as though he hadn’t stolen her country, murdered her sister, and forced her father and niece into gladiatorial slavery.
It’s pretty in character lmao. He was somehow mad that Law didn’t want to work with him after killing the man who saved his life, and for the longest time never even considered that Rosinante might actually hate him for murdering their father. Doflamingo’s such a narcissist he just assumes that other’s will implicitly understand and forgive him for all of the shit he does at some point or another (if they don’t he’ll just kill them and it’s just as good), and the fact that he did even MORE to Viola than either of them and somehow expected a different outcome is just hilarious. Guy is insane.
I would pay money for someone to animate these videos the exact way he's explaining it. A scene where doflamingo is forcing law to watch The godfather would have me dying
Doflamingo had this perfectly formed plan with little to no holes. It was beautifully crafted from when he first invaded the kingdom and even when Luffy and Law appeared unexpectedly. Yes, a plan with no holes... but one. He knew nothing about Luffy and his ability to poke holes in any plan he comes into contact with whether that be your plan or his
To be fair, his plan did account to most of what Luffy was capable of, Sugar almost fucked them up entirely. The one thing he did not account for because no one could ever have, was God Usopp, the wildest of wild cards, he single handedly dismantled his entire plan by fucking up Sugar, twice.
You know, when you tell the story from Donflamingo's perspective, the Dressrosa Arc really was nuts. Especially with just how fast everything spiraled into absolute anarchy
In one day, by a loony 19-yr omd and his band of misfits lunatic that somehow just, magically exposed the corrupt stuff you been doing or just make it a royal flush.
I like how every villain is just completely flabbergasted at the fact that luffy just wants to throw hands without interest in what’s actually happening 😂
@@funnyguydragon No, he just said he will beat anyone in his way, Yonko in particular since you can't reign in New World (or be free in New World) without beating them to submission.
@@RoronoaZoro-ur6hrlmao kaido more or less just killed himself like he always tried to do Even after g5 kaido was clapping luffy pretty good despite the toon force
The best part this is that Doflamingo hadn't heard from Law or Luffy for YEARS, and he went from being a king after a decade long plan to being arrested in LESS THAN 48 HOURS. Yesterday, everything was perfect. Later that afternoon, some kid you haven't seen in years called to demand resignation in exchange for your underground science linchpin. The next day, boom, it all came crashing down before sunset. (3Y2D, 3 years of weekly One Piece covering 2 days)
lol to be fair, Doflamingo should never have dangled Ace's devil fruit in front of Luffy's nose to begin with. That's like pulling up to the grocery store only to find a crackhead having a breakdown on the shopping carts of which you need one but your sollution to the problem is to tell the obviously crazy person that you have crack in your pocket.
i still think its baffling that he actually used a real devil fruit. dude is making and selling fake smile fruits and the one time it'd directly benefit him to feed one to one guy, he gives him a real one
@@bobbodaskank true but that would get in the way of the story so thats just not going to be a thing much like how in super hero movies security systems are a joke. If they could handle what happens in the story we wouldn't have a story just crackheads going to jail
I am guessing the joke is every gangster watched The Godfather and Goodfellas and since Law is more of like a doctor he didn't get it. Anyway it is hilarious 😅
@quest9905 rotini? Yeah that shit good. I recommend adding thyme, salt and garlic powder to the sauce, mix it in a cup or something before applying to pasta. Shits mad good
Im kinda disappointed that you didn't have a moment where luffy says that he is doing this because a girl that is the daughter of the one legged lunatic, gave him a lunch box
It's been awhile so I could be misremembering, but wasnt the lunchbox the only reason he didnt woop her ass when she tried to jump him in the cells there
@@lateeshashields826LITERALLY! This man full countered her after she tried to jump him. Then he pinned her to the ground and got on top of her *pause*. THEN she started saying stuff like "I jumped you. You can do whatever you want to me" *pause*. AND THEN he said he just kept eating WHILE SITTING ON TOP OF HER! She was flabbergasted by the audacity but I respect him more than the comments on that video fr fr.
Given that Oda has repeatedly said he thinks of One Piece as a funny story overall, his view of Dressrosa as a whole probably isn’t too far off from this.
I think my favorite thing about all of this is that, iirc I’m pretty sure Oda said in an interview that you can’t actually see armament haki canonically, which means that G4 Luffy looked even stupider to Doffy than it did to us at first (like, just imagine that form without the haki designs 💀)
@@formeme2290 Oh shoot you might be right. That would explain why we couldn't see haki until after Luffy learned it (I'm sure that was a retcon but it retroactively makes sense so I'm cool with it lol)
@@dangangalaxy9759it was an explanation for a retcon. but it makes sense enough that i can go with it. its hard to write 1 story for 30 years and not come up with an idea that you didnt plan for from the beginning.
Doflamingo: "Wait hold....where did Sugar go anyway?" Trebel: "She got scared by the Pinnochio Jesus so badly that she fainted!" Doflamingo: "............W H A T ? ! ?"
@@beywheelzhater8930 Doflamingo: ARE YOU SAYING SUGAR WAS 360 NO SCOPED ACROSS THE CITY BY JESUS?! DID NONE OF YOU CLOSE THE DAMN WINDOWS? NOT EVEN A CURTAIN?!
The fact that everyone knew how strong Kaido was and were really confused on why Luffy would want to fight that monster. And honestly it makes sense when you call him a Crackhead somehow. But the hype didn't hype Kaido enough honestly
"I...completely forgot about you. You know, in hindsight, Sugar's devil fruit power is really a hindrance when used in this way" That got me rolling? So true tho, forgetting about your own ennemies when they're still around and potentially trying to kill you is really dangerous.
Especially since the solution is to just write down who’s who in some logbook before you turn them into toys “Oh cool that one legged soldier guy was apparently the previous gladiator champion and heir to the throne ‘Kyros’, and since the toy’s minds and memories are still intact we should probably either closely watch him or just destroy him.” Like they even said there were foreign diplomats, devil fruit users, very powerful Haki users, and even kings among the toys, that all feels like information that someone should have written down
The funniest part about gear 4 is that he’s had it since the timeskip ended so luffy went an entire 2 arcs without anybody but him knowing. So theoretically he could’ve given hody jones an even harsher ass beating than he already did
It shows how powerful Luffy was, that he didn't NEED Gear 4th to kick Hody ad Ceaser's asses, only Doffy gave him enough of a challenge he needed to bring out his new form
Each of his gears drain more and more of his lifespan so he has to use as little as possible to win. But once he has to use a new form he will use it all out which is why his power jumps so much, when he uses a gear he goes to the max so he doesn’t have to use it too long. I wish that fact was explained more by luffy in the series. It’s mostly only explained in small moments here and there along with notes and answered questions from oda.
@@bryebaker3343 That's Gear 2nd that burns his lifespan, it's never been stated the 3 or 4 have anything to do with lifedrain, only minif orm and running out of haki respectively. Maybe Gear 5, but we know basically nothing about that form so who the hell knows
I think my favourite joke is Lao G dying of old age. The sheer panic in his men's voices as they realise that's not steam, that's Lao G's soul leaving his body, only to see him come back to life because he misheard what Chinjao said is amazing
“Can I get like a bandaid or something? I’m bleeding out.” “I’m not gonna help you law cause if I do you’re not gonna learn anything. Now just sit there and finish watching The Godfather part 2. And then after that you’re gonna make me immortal.” This is beautiful. God tier dialogue.
i just noticed this but gotta love how Brooks wanted poster is literally just his promotion for his musician tour like a marine at HQ that had to make thos ewa slike "Dude i love this guys music do i have to make a wanted poster" and after being told off, just to spite hq he made essentially a teen girls pinnup of her favourite band with a bounty on it lmao
Somehow this video made me feel even better about Luffy defeating Doflamingo. That man deserves everything that got thrown at him, so picturing him in just an absolute state of confusion and disbelief while everything he worked for years to build is dismantled around him is incredibly satisfying.
I’ll say it again. Everyone’s a menace and everyone’s got a master plan years in the making. Till a crackhead shows up. He’s like The Joker in dark knight if the joker had plastic man powers and decided who’s good and evil based on who gives him food first.
@@Rannos22 Not really cause one of the first things he does after waking up from his food coma was fight Zoro because he killed a shit-ton of the "nice people that gave us yummy food"

Shows how good a writer Oda is for making it so if you think about things from the villain's perspective the story still makes perfect sense. Not a lot of writers can do that.
I like how this version of Doffy is just so broken by Luffy's crack head shenanigans that he doesn't even bother using his awakening. He just accepts his fate
Imagine you see Him. The man you know may well destroy your decades of political and criminal machinations. And he's standing in public disguised got dang Master Roshi.
15:37 “He’s not that good of a person either he was about to leave his entire crew!” Had you considered how bad she is? Viola is on the level with Nico Robin in the cowboy hat
i thought it was hilarious when you first called Luffy a 'magical crackhead', but implying that, -of course- Luffy has seen the Godfather series, might be your best joke of the channel so far
i mean considering his childhood Luffy was basic raised by a mountain bandit mob with his two sworn brothers, honestly you could say he's as much of a mobster as any character can claim to be
Doffy does powder cocaine and no one can convince me otherwise. So when crack cocaine smokin Monkey D Ass Luffy got as serious and as matter of fact as Goofy has ever played his lines to resonate with Doffy I LOVED IT.
Honestly, at first I didn't believe that he could have seen the Godfather but then I remembered there was an anime/manga special where the crew were assuming the roles of italian mobsters and yeah, it's basically confirmed that the entire Straw Hat crew has seen the Godfather. It's a shame that Law hasn't.
I will forever question who the graphic designer is on Doffy’s team that put together the bounty presentation so fast and broadcasted it to the whole island
An insane thing I feel about luffy's gear 4, is that he learnt it during his 2 year training. However, for some reason, only used it at this point and not during fishman island no matter how desperate it got or at punk hazzard. At least he uses gear 5 more readily, but if we're looking at a crackhead perspective, it's likely because it gives him euphoria.
I love how doflamingo is like “alr guys don’t 1v1 the straw hats instead jump the straw hats” and pica is just hyping himself up like “I’m the best you see that crackhead he don’t want the smoke with me” and doflamingo is like “your not that guy so jump em” but they still try too run the 1’s and he loses
I love the mental image of Doflamingo forcing Law to watch The Godfather. Also that moment of realization that Luffy did all this specifically because he wanted to fight Kaido.
Honestly, at first I didn't believe that Luffy could have seen the Godfather but then I remembered there was an anime/manga special where the crew were assuming the roles of italian mobsters and yeah, it's basically confirmed that the entire Straw Hat crew have seen the Godfather. Dressrosa really would've been the best arc to shift the perspective to the villains. Seeing their perspective on the Strawhats and their influence on people really would've showed just how dangerous they are.
"Hey, Sugar was in a completely different place from the Crackhead and he doesn't even know how she looks like. How was she defeated?" "Pinocchio Jesus launched a multi level ignition rocket-like proyectile that looks like him through a small window from the other side of the island" "WHAT THE FU-"
Been reading the coloured version of one piece during the 5 week break. The moment I saw Doflamingo absolutely confused at Luffy being at his palace, while seeing Lucy still at the tournament was the moment I couldn't wait for this video.
Doffy hearing about Sanji rizzing up Viola is amazing, imagine if he heard about whole cake. "So wait, that pervert is a prince and he rizzed up another baddie who's Big Mom's daughter. What even is he the legendary super rizz pervert?"
"what, the girl who had her father dethroned, had her sister killed, niece enslaved, and brother-in-law erased from memory, all that by me, and that I maintained for years as basically a hostage, and used my power over her to have non-consenting sexual relations, and knows about every bad thing I have done in my life of crime, robbery and murder, this girl, turns away from me at the first opportunity? The audacity!"
I liked that comparison between Doflamingo and Crocodile. I thought the same when I first saw it. And my impression of Wano is it's the absolute worst that people can experience when these guys really get their way in complete isolation. It's been a great progression.
I really couldn't care less about One Piece or manga in general, but I appreciate the level of passion this individual displays for these fictional characters. It almost seems like he's talking about a real story
Hell yeah, doflamingo and the no good, very bad, terrible horrible day. Alternately donquixote “i planned for this” doflamingo versus “no amount of planning will protect you from the sheer luck of a chronic dumbass” luffy. End with the defeat of donquixote “i never planned for this” doflamingo going to jail
I want a part two from the ship protector group's perspective. It looked like another "easy" job, but things continually got worse, and they even got distressing phone calls from time to time.
25:04 Doffy: So what are you doing? Fujitora: What am I doing Doffy: What are you doing? Fujitora: Nothing Much. Doffy: Thwarting my plans? Fujitora: Thwarting your plans? Doffy: Are you??? Fujitora: ......Yes.
I'll say it again, Doffy trusting Viola, the daughter of the man he usurped, to kill Sanji was a horrible idea. That and entrusting Trebol alone with Sugar's protection(which is the most important part of his ability to continue ruling) were his major mistakes.
Pica should've been guiding and protecting Sugar instead of Trebol since he was clearly more powerful than Monet on Punk Hazard, and clearly Monet should've been protecting Doffy as well as sending out Lao G or bomb dude to fight off Sanji, Nami, and Brook, but since he didn't place the chessboard like Luffy means he resulted in failure @@animeking1674.
DoFlamingo really did everything right, but the chaos that’s Luffy and the Strawhats is so hard to predict, everything that could go wrong did. Who could’ve guessed the sniper and considered weakest strawhat would ruin your ten year plan and free all the toys?!
