It's the rock-n-whiskey collaboration of the year! Drew Estate's Blackened S84 'Shade To Black' has made it's way to the market, and now it's time to give this new Connecticut Shade blend a full review to see what it has to offer.
The cigar is a 'love child' of Jonathan Drew, James Hetfield, and Rob Dietrich. It features an creamy smooth Ecuador Connecticut wrapper over a bold Connecticut Broadleaf binder. In a world where people are tired of one dimensional shade cigars, any new blend is going to have to offer an interesting and inviting experience. Can these three guys come together to make that cigar? The only way to find out is with a cut and a light!

I wish I could get all the flavor notes off any cigar. I can only tell if I like it and which I like better than the other.

@@1stAmendmentfukyoutube a hint of cedar, with a splash of wine and tones of oak and cocoa😂 I don't even think weed had that many flavors when I used to smoke it but it sure did smell different depending on the strain

Iv just got 2 of these from you guys as I can’t find them in the United Kingdom. As a fan of the band this cigar was worth waiting for. Buying some of these when I come to America next year(2025) oh and I’m buying them from cigar daily shop

I have tried that cigar and I agree with your notes. I’ve had two of them so far and it smokes real good smooth draw. It’s one of my go to if I haven’t my box just relax before I go to sleep.

I bought the drew estates freestyle live pack. Loved the three cigars so much, I had to request them for almost three months at my local cigar lounge. Finally have one now, enjoying with some sour candy, I rocket pop before, and a cucumber green tea. All while watching my son skate. Amazing cigar. I highly recommend this one.

I havent had that particular cigar. I had the maduro which i loved so much that i ordered a 10pk last week. I am a maduro lover and highly recommend the blackened maduro

I did enjoy the S84. I was not picking up all the flavors mentioned but I’m still relatively new to cigars. That being said I’m thoroughly enjoying the Dunbarton Stilwell Star Holiday Y2022 right now.

I don’t tend to get all the flavor notes out of my cigars. Just know which ones I like more than others. I’ve smoked one of these and really liked it. Not sure if I like it more than the original but feel it’s a nice addition to their brand. I’ll be getting more during the summer

Just smoked this one yesterday it was the 2nd time smoking it, it didn't disappoint ill be getting more. The one I smoked yesterday did have a bad draw and some burn issues in the 1st 3rd but fixed itself in the 2nd and 3rd parts

Didn't realize they'd added to the blackened line. Looking forward to trying this. I wasn't as high on the M81 as other people were (or as I expected to be as a big Drew Estate and full bodied fan). Sounds like it's got more complexity than the M81

I had the Corona and the sweetness was more prevalent the whole way down. Such a different smoke from the M81 from essentially a wrapper change. If you've ever listened to the songs 'Blackened' and 'Fade to Black' these cigars pay decent homage to their namesakes. The M81 is a smoke that rewards taking less frequent and smaller draws due to its intensity. This one begs for more regular, deep draws.

In cooking with white pepper your usually looking for a little floral taste. So when describing a cigar as having a white pepper taste do you get some floral notes... just wondering? Thank you for your reviews. You've really given me insight on how to identify different tastes in cigars.

These were a hair better than the original ones , a little honey in the beginning and then a hint of sweetness throughout the rest of the way. I'll definitely buy them again..

Hello from Wolverhampton England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 I'm a long time follower first time commenter. I've been smoking for awhile but I struggle to pick out flavour notes.... mainly because I struggle to know what I'm looking for. I've always been able to find almonds as its my favourite nut lol. But cedar....peppers.....citrus.... and many many more you mention in cigars I struggle to pick out. Is there a way to help me start picking these notes and flavours out? Even with retro exhale I struggle. Any tips or advice?

A lot of these notes or flavors are subjective if not made up. It is heavily influenced by a lot of variables such as your diet, last meal you ate, drink pairings and even the flavor of your toothpaste. My 2 cents that no one asked for is for you to enjoy the smoke of the cigar, the meditation, and not focus on the flavors too much.
