I can see these cars becoming common drift cars, c5's can be found relatively easily for under 20 grand, sell off the stock stuff you dont need and you can put a cage and a proper seat in it

Makes sense, look at what most people were using, older cars. C5s are old as crap now, in a good way. There were no Silvas, the big Z disparity until 2003, Supra out of production, etc. There aren't a lot of good donor cars for drift cars from like 1995-2005

I miss these build videos by Matt. I can remember watching this back in 2017 and cheering Matt on at the 2018 FD live streams. I watched his drift Corvette being build from the ground up.

That was great episode I would love to see the rest of Matt's drift Vette build. But my question to Matt is, why which chassis? Also would the learning curve of a new chassis slow Matt down for 2018 season. I mean Matt is Epic in his V8 powered S14 in Formula Drift and is on track to be the next champion. Anyway can't wait to see Matt drifting that Vette in 2018.

Looking forward for next of this build! I´m kinda curious about what have you planned for the exterior, as you know yours is gonna be compared against the other drift vettes, mostly Saito´s one. Hoping to see something different and really wild!m Maybe a rear bumper delete, exposed aero and chassis mounted rear wing? Widened body? Or what about deleting the headlights, making them part of the body, and just letting a narrow horizontal led line instead? Dunno....

How exactly did you find the car? Was it on a website online or through someone you know? I'm wanting to build a car and possibly do the same as in find a flood vehicle and gut it.

Copart is a decent tool to use for what you want. A lot of your local auctions usually try to only be available to dealers. Being registered as a dealer isn't usually difficult or expensive, but it's a process. Those are the 2 easiest ways to find these kinds of vehicles. Especially now with hurricanes hitting. Another good tip is hailstorms. If the hail breaks a window, the vehicle is an automatic water damage total.
