To install a Grasshopper driver backrest on your 2014 Indian Chief/Chieftain motorcycle in the solo seat configuration, you will need a threaded bracket.
David, what do you mean by 'one up configuration'? What is the reason to make this yourself? Is it to save money on buying the bracket that Indian sells? Also, it looks like the backrest is a little to much forward, can that be adjusted? Thank you.
+David Berthelette David thanks for your response. I asked about three or four other questions. I hate to bother you but can you please answer those questions.
This backrest is an aftermarket product. It is not meant to be used with Indian's backrest bracket. It is much cheaper than the OEM backrest but it is not nearly as good as the OEM backrest. If you are on a budget and need a backrest, this could work well for you as it did for me for several months. The backrest cannot be adjusted. The post is a bit springy so it does not push you forward. I also made a video showing how I modified the post. You can see it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9B0wNdKsURM.html
+sam hoenig If you have the passenger seat installed, you do not need to add the threaded bar stock as the backrest bracket bolts to to passenger seat bar stock.
