I have also a '18 XT, and the fastest 0 to 60 is holding the brake and do a "launch control" in S mode, not S#, in this case the CVT will be a real CVT holding the revs to full power.
even the base 2.5 is fun, it is one of the most tossable cars I have ever driven. It's down on power, but that means you can floor it everywhere and not get into too much trouble, and it sounds great too
I just was in the market for a new/used car decided on the forester . I didn’t know anything about the forester. A Subaru dealer by me had two identical 2017 xt’s on the lot , after I drove one I had to have one . I bought one of them and I absolutely love it. I didn’t realize how rare they are so I got lucky I guess.
I had a 16 WRX that caught fire after hitting a huge buck, as much as I miss the 6spd the 15 FXT I bought is so nice for a daily driver. The WRX had an awful sound system, Subie rattles, no heated seats or sunroof. Ehhh, I still miss it 😂. It had such character but the FXT is the shit too!!!
Love my 2013 XT (2014 spec). Fuel consumption is great with the CVT in Intelligent mode (compared to my previous 2004 2.5 XS). Love the hidden beast mode when you need to overtake.
Not sure what you're doing wrong but my stock 2018 XT TOURING does 0-60 in 6.7 seconds, just as the manufacturer states (2014-2016 was 6.2 before refresh for 2017).
The Forester XT is definitely better than the 2023-2024 models. Many Forester lovers are waiting for the release of a new and updated model of the Turbo XT!
fastest is in sport mode without sharp and without any shifts. I tested all 3 modes. #sharp = 8.0, normal 7.9 and sport 7.5 (0-100km/h) just as stated by subaru.
Indeed a nice package being turbo charged with 250bhp and 350nm but stock suspension is only marginally acceptable .. floats and yet harsh as designed with off road capaability and not a ultimately a road car imho. I cannot imagine riding my forester with the demoed coilover .. just plain terrible. Get hard to get swift spring and tein endura active pro and edfc with adjustable active pro plus will be make it as near to a road car as possible. Cheers.
The XT SJ was not limited…it was widely available from 2014 -2018.. the CVT robs the car of power. Problem with the XT is the bobby ride on faster hwy runs.
so, idk if you guys are driving this car like this but I can assure you that it is much quicker than that. If you try to launch the car like a standard or automatic transmission, you will never see how fast the vehicle actually is. These CVTs are incredibly intelligent computers, designed to change "gears" seamlessly. If you give the throttle a steady hasty push, the car will take off like a rocket... then let off the gas and then immediately put the pedal down further than you had it before and again, slowly and steadily raise your foot off the brake. All you guys are doing with this CVT is slamming the pedal down and the engine is recieving zero other input than go so it runs a steady accelleration cycle. Try to feather the gas in these Subaru CVTs, the first like quarter inch of the acceleration in a Forester is always the quickest. I never put my foot down with these cvts... it literally goes nowhere. Feather the gas slightly with your foot next time, get on the first inch down in the pedal and then let off and then right back on and see how much quicker the car accelerates. Youre welcome btw.
looks like you have not had the new ecu tune put on it from subaru. I love mine(paid off) but hated the throttle delay on launch. there is a bulletin for it. I love my xt.
