Dr myc is garbage. There is a better trial available on RU-vid if you look it up. Not weighing sub and spawn is a perfect example of the lack of variables here. You didn't even document the colonization times? And we should believe you and let you get a cut of his sales because you've grown a couple monotubs? C'mon. Disgraceful

im new but ive noticed , atleast when using fresh tissue, a chunk of stem tissue develops into healthy myc on agar way faster than a gill tissue

You can crumble the mushroom bits in a small amount of STERILE water and rehydrate them by leaving them for 12-24hr. Use just enough water to cover the mushroom bits. Once they are hydrated put a tiny amount on each agar plate (use about 4+) and wait. You will grow mold but also a bit of mycelium. Then you cut away the farthest mycelium from the mold and put it in a new agar plate. Let it grow and repeat until the agar plate grows no mold. Then you can grow that mycelium.

I'm actually doing something similar. What I'm doing with LC is inoculating cardboard strips with the syrup first. Then use that as the bottom layer of the mushroom bed once everything is colonized.

2g per liter is 2000g per liter (1000ml). so if you wanted half a liter (500ml) you would only need 1g as that would be a half. A half of 2000ml (2L) being 500ml, and a half of 2g being 1g. The metric system is really easy once you realise it is all based around the base number 10. The imperial system had a base number of 12. The introduction of the metric system was to simplify things like 18 ounces in a pound, but only 12 pounds in a stone, as numbers of goods were growing enormously and making measurements such as " a gross" (144, 12 x 12) obsolete, especially for those who weren't great with numbers. 12 is still arguably a better base number as it has 4 factors (including 4 and 3, as opposed to just 2 and 5 for 10). Excluding 1 and themselves as factors, for obvious reasons. BUT YEAH TLDR; metric system was just brought in as a way to universally simplify enormous numbers of goods or even equations (powers, etc). **You just always use the same ratios and fractions.** Another example for this case would be if you only wanted 300ml of the solution. 1000ml requires 2g, so you would just need 0.6g of the powder. Basically think of it as half a packet makes one liter. thanks for attending my high as fuk ted talk about maths for some weird reason.

@@jenniferg6818 the soy peptone providing amino acids etc, in return yielding quicker growth I'm guessing... I'm definitely no expert so I can't really say for sure but just throw in some advice when I can just in the hope it may help others.

Yeah, I use bacteriologic peptone in my fruiting substrate and liquid cultures. Make for very healthy growth.

It works!

After starting summer 2021 and having a few good runs, I went through 6 months with 0 success this year. Clean your grow room, and make sure you're really being sterile during inoculation. Just don't give up.

@@channelnumber52 no I'm not I have a few going decent. It's understandable to have stuff fail and truthfully sweeter when you get something.

I have the same problem. Good strong contamination free inoculated grain bags. But when mixed with substrate and left to develope a mycelium mat over the course of a week or two. I encounter grey cobweb mold. My conclusion is that the room temperature was too cold. Which also resulted in too much moisture. In my next attempt I will be sure to maintain the room temperature at 75°F as where before the temps were as low as 60°F Thoughts?

have you tried hydrogen peroxide. I just use the over-the-counter stuff in a spray bottle and it seems to wipe out the cobweb mold without harming the mycellium. I'm very much a beginner, so take this advice with a grain of salt. I've also overdone it and ended up with too much water (I believe plain water is a byproduct). So far it looks to be somewhat effective in my jars.

@@squirlmy I've used it on cakes that were close to fruiting and it's worked a few times when caught early enough but also I've gone overboard once or twice and ended up with stuff too wet as well. The trick works sometimes thhp

@@jenniferg6818 whatever happened to people getting horse manure and using horse manure is one of the main ingredients I used it for years my flushes were 10 times thicker I got 5-6 flushes!!!! The mushrooms were literally twice as big why are people not using that anymore I don't get it yeah I've started using coconut fiber but I always add is much horse manure is I feel like which improves it dramatically are people just lazy? I don't understand what's going on with the hobby anymore. I mean it it's not that hard to crush up dried horse manure and I'm sure anybody with an ounce of ambition can find horse manure I look on Craigslist and people are giving it away. It just takes a few minutes to crush it up throw it in a big rubber made bin put the oven that is close to 200 as you can heat it for a couple hours and let and shut it off and let it sit overnight the vast majority of it gets up to about 150 and it's fine because it helps colonize mycelium so fast that infections don't have a chance period since I've been using cocoa coyer I've had more trichoderma infections than I care to count

I have an honest question tho, recently heard some gypsum’s actually contain trich for gardening purposes… I just bought this product and want to try it. I tried using trich evict and each of my tubs got contam… but I used my old gypsum that may have had trich? I’m confused😢

@@Soul.Beauty.333 I don't think gypsum has trich. All coco coir has trich though. And some coco coir companies add even more trich for gardening purposes. You want to avoid those brands.

PGT has mentioned CVG as his preferred in other vids so unless that has changed I'd say that's it ;)
