It's so sleek for such a massive creature. And what shapes it has besides the tapering body, have their purpose: like the ridge in front of it's breathing hole breaks and splits the the waves so they won't splash into the air intake. the eyes bilge out a bit, obviously for a good field of vision but I think also the change the impression behind the eyes also serves their aqua dynamics - maybe directs the stream nicely for their fins.

Every single thing about a blue whale is sleek and streamlined and this video captures that. Even the teardrop shaped nostrils are beautiful. Thank-you for an inspiring start to my day. So much mystery exists in our wondrous oceans. Makes me feel small and makes all of humanity seem insignificant.

They actually live in the water 24/7. Mamals like us. And when you go to bed they are swimming in the water. When you're going to work they are still in the water. When you are stressed they are still swimming peacefully in the water. The largest animals ever.

It absolutely kills me that Orcas are one of the things that kills The blue whale. The two animals are so near and dear to my heart and I think we all wish other whales and dolphins were the only exception to what Orcas eat. The two are so special in their own respective ways. The Killer Whale and the Blue Whale, two of the Oceans three kings the third being of course the iconic Great White.
