I have a feeling Wild Strikes will be huge for both factions, as not only does Alliance get Wind Fury, Shamans can now use other air Totems like Tranquil Air for threat reduction

One thing you should check is the 1.15 abilities WoWHead Datamined. It's confirmed that some of them were just things they were experimenting with, but there are some changes and additions to abilities that aren't just the runes. *FOR EXAMPLE* Hunter traps now say they have a range and don't say you need to be out of combat to use them.

I played a druid and I am very excited to try it, the lvl 25 cap will be interesting to plan around. For pvp going for cat swiftness, bear charge, nature's grasp and some levels in furor. With survivor of the fitness and other healing runes focusing on sta/int gear, I am betting it will be by far the best flag carrier. For PvE, it is ironic, but IMO the highest cat DPS spec won't have a single point in feral, going furor and clear casting instead. Can't wait to actually try it.

I'm really hyped. Sounds like SoD is gonna be the Season for Druids haha! All these amazing changes for druids and Ashenvale being a main area for the start of SoD, and Darnassus potentially popping off too. I'm excited as a life long druid player!

quick addendum; lifebloom IS a tank healing-spell. With the rune being added resto druid is more or less being inclined to be both tank-healers and blanket-healers, like in wrath

I was waiting for this. Your analyses are far and above anyone else is putting out. Most content creators just read what the rune does, maybe give a quick comment and move on straight to the next. You actually provide insights on their overall impact, how useful these new runes might be. Excellent work.

Druid tank runes are lowkey awesome.. bonus raw dmg mitigation along with new SoD gear (more armor and stam) will make bears have huge effective HP pools

I'm just glad that by the looks of things, we druids are no longer just innervate bots or relegated to off-tanking. Mana for healers might be rough, yes, but now you can go feral in group content and not be booted for trolling.

I think people were always sleeping on moonkin in PvP. Popping out of stealth into mega burst is insanely fun.

Feral / resto = best vanilla healer. Back during vanilla I always stood as a primary healer with my Druid. With these new additions put feral (OoC) and restore. Nothing can stop yout heals in 5man, 10man or even 40.

Healing being very reactive in classic makes me want to try a hybrid dps/healer build where i spam wrath to gain those instant cast healing touches

for the druid mana thing this might strictly be a decision made to make sure that mana matters for healers. If we get too crazy with restoring healer mana it affects the balance of the end game as a whole as a large factor to raid bosses is correctly managing healer mana. I think it is important that healer mana remains an essential part of their kit that they have to play around correctly. Also a lot of healers mana issues will be alleviated with things like seal of the martyr that paladins give that restore mana to their party. This mean a lot of mana issues could be potentially solved by other classes or at least alleviated a bit, i would be surprised if shadow priests didn't get their mana restoration effects at some point also.

Worth noting that although curses don't buff wrath, thunderfury proc lowers nature resist and is actually a pretty sizable buff to wrath.

SoM already had buff/debuff cap remove. Wowhead also datamined ability to allow druids to stack Rejuvs. Resto druids are looking good.

I played all TBC classic and wrath into week 9 of ulduar. I’m truly excited for this

WillE going forward I hope you add what spells and abilities characters have at what level. Like at level 25 a lot of classes don't have their full kit. You mentioned Shamans having windfury for the group but they don't even get solo windfury until level 30, and you don't get the totem until level 32. So therefore the only class giving wind fury in SoD's first patch is Druid.

As a druid main from classic all the way into ICC I am completely pumped for the degenerate things druids are going to be able to pull off. I ran flags for teams all the way to rank 13, I can't imagine what flag running will be like with the new runes. Imagine standard 5/11/35 resto flag runner spec but with the tanking glyph for 10% less dmg taken (10% more in bear) and 6% reduced crit. Now add in 30% self heal on 1.5min cd and a charge interrupt. To call it greasy wouldn't do it justice. Also yeah Cat dps and bear tanks will be insane PVE.

I'm def going druid cat in discovery, some of the rune changes look like it'd be a ton of fun, like feral windfury and access to mangle is so good.

Good watch. One thing to point out is that a feral's weapon damage is a fixed amount when in form regardless of what you have equipped, even if you have nothing equipped so we won't suddenly switch off the gnomeregan weapon with lacerate scaling from weapon damage unless they add feral attack power staves which I really hope they do. They've done an amazing job making bear tank better for SoD by having lacerate and crit immunity. The best thing they could do now is make it so we could get another weapon besides one we can use like once per boss before vendoring it. Or give us a defensive CD I guess.

Worth noting that windfury totem is level 32 but season of discovery only goes to 25 to start with, so the windfury rune should be pretty nice

For alliance: I kind of expect a feral/bear druid in every melee group and a ret/prot paladin in every caster group, due to mana restoration of Seal of Martyrdom. Would love to see prot pala- 3 warlock and s-priest set tbh.

another thing to add that made feral so strong in tbc, for example, is the ability to tank and dps with the same spec. unsure if you can do that in SoD but with the ability to change runes before boss fights really frees up the ability of feral to dps on single target fights

They really need to make OoC proc off spellcasts. It’s a balance talent!

I know we aren’t to the shammy video yet, but I’m super hyped to tank on a shaman. I’ve been whining for literal YEARS about how the idea of a shaman tank got abandoned.

I think more guilds were clued into the fact that tank Druid was better in Classic, as they released the later version of bear form. There were some people who still didn't know, but Bear tank was very good and could also run as a resto hybrid.

I was a resto Druid in classic wow I was raiding BWL and MC before I took a break until naxx… but inwould spec into omen of clarity and throw on hand of Edward the odd with +55 heal spells on it and fish for instant cast and / or clear casting procks and I gotta say it was a lot of fun to let my rejuve get value wile I risk my groups health the fish for procks made the game play different but enjoyable !

I wonder if Wild Strikes will buff Pets. Because they are usually considered party members (for Greater Blessings, Horn of Winter, ect.). Would be (another) insane buff for Hunters!

Also with the Phase 1 level cap at 25 Shamans will not even have access to Windfury, so Wild strikes will be the only way to have that effect for the time being,

Feral changes seem almost perfect from what I'd love to have in C+. Add non-directional Shred, because fuck that thing and let Ferals proc weapon on-hit effects. Also make sure Savage Roar persists through power-shifting [Blizz, don't even think about removing it. It's the most fun part of Cat. Just make a Wolfshead druid only head enchant and everything is guci] and least but not last - add threat modifier to Swipe and make Maul scaling instead of static extra damage. Ah, and make taunt be affected by melee hit, not a damn spell hit. This together with the Survival of the Fittest would make me very happy about Ferals.

I had this one stupid idea for druid runes that would essentially be "The melee Druid" While slotted some of the druids spells would transform into melee strike version of themselves, A hybrid between arcane, nature, and melee damage. I thought it'd be neat since the dudu can use things like Sulfuras and discovery seems to be all about weird new builds.

An idea might be to give travel form a 10 sec cd and a lot of buffs will be justified. Or maybe a cumulating debuff making travel for cost more after each cast

Savage roar would be amazing since Shred is your heavy hitter, if you can rip on the raid boss (idk about debuff limit) then rip is pretty good too... Ferocious bite is pretty meh especially since most ferals don't take 15% damage talent on it either

wildstrikes and windfury stack on shaman if its an aura? Specifically for shaman only since thats a weapon buff like stones.

Lacerate weapon damage scaling is probably based on the invisible "bear weapon" rather than your actual weapon.

I just wish you could get both survival of the fittest and wild strikes at the same time. Alliance would mostly get WF from cats still, but at least you had the option to get WF from a bear for one group.

I wonder which rune druids will get as a first rune. If it's Fury of Stormrage it would make the early leveling so much quicker than the current early levels. Seeing that pallys get crusader strike as a first rune to make their leveling more interesting, one can hope I guess.

I hope there is a rune that gives boots to form swapping.

I feel like feral needs more of a stun of keep the interrupt duration at 4 seconds at least also would like to see restoration Druids to get the healing circle spell out forgot the name of it. I also think that spells along with melee attacks should proc ohmen of clarity.

8:10 about how healing works in classic. We just don't know how healing will be different in classic + as they may add several mechanics to different bosses.

I think you're sleeping on Skull Bash a bit. Giving druids an interrupt is pretty big. The data mined version says usable in bear and cat form on a 10 second cooldown. Cats might take it instead of savage roar just for the interrupt.

There was also a third reason that starfire was preferred over wrath. Spellpower coefficient.

What if omen of clarity gets a rune that instead of % chance to proc, it builds up to a stack of 5 to give the 100% free cost and makes spells instant cast. Melee boomkin builds for the win.

For the Meta, Cats are probably the way to go in 25 bracket. They were already super strong between 20 and 30 and now they provide Windfury too. Bears might also work, but the optimal setup is probably a Warlock Tank and a Feral DPS, since Searing Pain will do more damage & threat. I don't see much hope for Restoration and Balance though. For Resto, the other classes will still heal more effectively. For Balance, they merely get up to par with what Mages, Warlocks and Priests are in Vanilla. These also have much better talent options at 25 and runes to buff them further. And since Improved Mark can be taken by Ferals too, they don't proive anything special buffs either.

Druid's are already able to tank raid boss's... and they were the preferred choice for boss's like ouro and Patchwerk. though I think we are best as off-tank so we can be more available.

As someone who thrived in the john madden feral days of retail wrath, i both approve and have ptsd.

Based on the phrasing in Starsurge's tooltip, I wonder if it will benefit from Fury of Stormrage and just replace wrath entirely.

I wonder if Stormrage Fury spamming wrath will still count as a "casted spell" or if they will allow mana regen to continue while casting making wrath effectively like the druids "wand" so to speak. filler damage a healer can toss out while regenerating mana.

Is the Heart of the wild talent the same in SoD? I could see resto druids going 5/5 in it with resto runes stacking hard intellect. I rememeber it being a decent build in vanilla, but Hots being gatekept by buffs didnt really justify the need for the mana

I really wish they gave Feral some proper AoE like Swipe. Maybe at a higher level… In Vanilla, Feral has no AoE potential and it feels like you can’t compete for damage on many pulls if you can’t cleave.

Love your videos but a few things were off, resto's can't downrank because all spells are being changed to % of base mana in SoD, you also say ferals have no way to gain energy outside of power shifting but tiger's fury is being changed to it's wrath version granting 60 energy =)

I want to play a boomkin, but then I look at fire mage and think it'll probably have a bit more "boom" to it. More aoe and a flat 15% more crit, especially if you get it at 25...

I am confounded with the new changes to mangle - changing it from what mangle has always been to a version of cheap shot? I am not sure whether this is a bug on wowhead or not. Hoping it is
