@markwilmeth3082 This is when I began to notice him too. I learned, years ago, that he played drums on each song , except Dirty Livin, from the KISS Dynasty LP. Would have been a very cool dynamic had he stayed with the band 😮. How different would they have been? Maybe Ace would have stayed too. Who knows!?

Anton is a South African drummer who came to prominence on Joan Armatradings first album. She fired her whole band and kept Anton because she said that he was the only musician in the band. Cheers from South Africa 🇿🇦 🌍 👍

Ghost drummer for KISS on Dynasty and Unmasked, and played on Ace Frehley’s ‘78 solo album and years later in Ace’s band. He has KISS blood! On another subject.....Are you sure you’re not Ed Harris?? 😃🤪

Well poor John is gone so I wouldn’t place that bet. Anton’s solo was his and his training his style is his. Bonham lived a different era not having a double bass pedal or pitch scaled multi zildjian k cymbals a snare with wood hoops etc it’s not a comparison that can be made. John’s mastery of a single speed king pedal was revelatory only matched by carmine apice. These guys changed the signature of drumming Anton lifted it higher standing on their shoulders as he and we all should ascribe to. I once saw a video of buddy rich talking trash about rock drummers and the interviewer asked him if he could play like bonham. He swiftly dispatched a bonham riff and beat like it was as easy as breathing. Yet he never played like bonham. Every drummer who’s on this level of mastery has their own style their own greatness I may prefer one to another but I admire and respect all of them cause they enable me to play better by their example.

Anton plays the Oscars and has played every song in the world almost between his other gigs and Letterman. Must have played 100,000 songs, not gigs, songs!
