This is the set of Zildjian Edge cymbals that came with the Signia drums I bought in 2023. It's a curious pairing because the Signia is a high-end professional kit of its day (1990s) but the cymbals are mid-range quality at best and are made of *B8 bronze.
The Edge series was current from 1996 to 2001 and was positioned in the mid-price range, slightly above Zildjian's ZBT and ZBT Plus ranges. Source: www.cymbal.wiki...
When I bought the Signia kit with this cymbal set, it had all been stored in a garage for 15 or so years. This poor storage caused the cymbals to tarnish in an interesting way, making them a unique set.
The "solid ride" is pretty nice and I think the tarnish helps it some, adding a little complexity and darkness to its sound. The 10" "flash splash" is as good as any B8 bronze splash I've heard. The "max hats" hi-hats are good for rock and louder playing but lack subtlety for more jazzy stuff. They have plenty of definition. The 18" "razor crash" is fairly obnoxious but OK played with mallets. It's really too thick for a proper crash and it lets the set down overall.

*Lower to mid-priced cymbals are often machine-made from an alloy of 92% copper and 8% tin, which is B8 bronze. Professional grade cymbals are usually made of B20 bronze - 80% copper, 20% tin, which is superior-sounding but more difficult to make into cymbals.
