based white/white 2 ideals enjoyer, really wish i had soulsilver. your experience with mario kart ds reminds me a lot of how i've probably completed kirby super star ultra at least 20 times as a kid -- my autism activated when you mentioned it near the end. i've played my fair share of kirby games over the years and i guess it probably is nostalgia, but SSU in my opinion is the most well-rounded and well-designed, with the most replayability and variation in gameplay -- and this includes 64 which seems to be one of the most beloved in online discussion. i think pretty much anyone who has ever enjoyed any other kirby title would also enjoy SSU. really nostalgic and really great vid :D
This was a really fun listen i especially loved the part where you talked about Pokemon SoulSilver and its importance to you, hope you get through it someday and im looking foward to more videos ❤
mario kart ds is super nostalgic, i remember one time when i was on vacation (i was like 6? or 7 idk) and this kid came and said "give me the cartdrige and tomorrow i'll give it back to you with everything i unlocked", i was like HELL YEAH!!!!!!, now i would probably say "what the hell was i thinking!", but the kid came back the next day and gave my cartdrige with everything unlocked except ROB lol. such a nostalgic system for me.
the fact that they came back with everything unlocked was such a power move, and honestly really nice of them. these days you'd expect someone to just want a free came or something. but that was the coolest part of cartridges since you could swap them around like that and play on different systems so easily.
I was super late to the party with the DS. Spirit Tracks was also my first Zelda game I played myself (though I had seen friends play Ocarina in the past) Loved that game. Soul Silver was also my first Pokémon game. Loved that as well.
As an autistic nerd myself, I can say with absolute certanty I always grabbed the receipt my parents left only to lose it 5 minutes later... I had the spirit, though.
