Would you recommend Seafoam for a MK7 Golf 1.6 TDI? I've used it before on motorcycles and petrol lawn mowers without issue but not sure about if it will foul up the cat converter and dpf filter

I had the same problem. Took it to VW (under warranty) they said it was a leaking mech unit and it needed new clutches. 15,000 miles on the clock 1.5 TSI golf. I’m still waiting to get my car back and will comment on the full issue with the gearbox

Is a level set really required ? I seen a dsg service video you did with Charles the mechanic and the level set prosecute was not done. I’m curious because I serviced my dsg a week ago and did not do it

Hi, thanks for the informative video. I have a 2015 VW CC with the 02E trans. It all of a sudden stopped moving both forward and reverse. When I scanned it, I got a code P0716 (G182 implausible signal). Pls can the G182 cause the car not to move at all? Is there a way to check this sensor with multimeter. I have checked the connector and no physical damage, I have opened the mechatronic cover and the wire of the G182 looks good. before all of this, I have replaced the DSG oil and filter. Is there something else I can do? My car is 32000 miles. Thanks again.

Hi recently have a issue. Gears start to slip when coming into boost ran VCDS no error codes could it be the clutch park itself OR DMF? 02E Transmission engine Code BLG.

DIY FOC first To perfrom the DSG gearbox perfrom the following steps. Be aware that it does not give you any visual feedback on the dash. 1. Put the key in the ignition and turn on - Do not start the car 2. Hold down the accelerator pedal fully for at least 10 seconds (many suggest 20 seconds). You will feel a little click under your foot at you push down the pedal fully. 3. Release the pedal - turn the key in the ignition. You can now start the car normally If the DSG reset is successful you may hear some shifting mechanical sounds from the gearbox.

Is some noise coming from an S4 DSG normal? Mine makes a slight chattering sounds at idle that goes away if you give it some gas. To me it's between sounding normal and sounding like a bad DMF. Not to loud but I notice it enough to make me wonder.

Can anybody answer me some stronic concerned questions please? 1) Can I change D to S and back to D during driving without any other steps? 2) What if I'm in situation, where I'm accelerating a little and "need" a downshift? Can I use paddle to shift down while pushing the gas pedal without causing any harm to the transmission? 3) In manual mode I'm pulling up the car on a light stop. Can I stop the car on 2nd gear and then downshift to 1st gear when the car is stationary? Or should I shift to 1st gear sooner due to RPM? 4) Is it normal to hear the shift from 2nd to 3rd gear with no load? Can't hear any other gear change other than 2 to 3 and even that is with almost no load. Under the load everything is silent and all I can hear is the exhaust. Only 70k km on the gearbox so far. If the described situation isn't completely normal, what is to blame? Mechatronic part? 5) Should the transmission be completely smooth in a car from 2010? Sometimes when the car goes without pushing the gas pedal I can notice a little lagging on the 2nd gear. I can imagine this is a nature of the older automatics transmissions, just wanna know :-) Thanks, P.

Hi. I have an 2009 VW GTI DSG auto transmission. I have a problem similar to your video but different in that it makes that whining noise when I put the transmission into any gear: Reverse, Drive or sport mode. It makes this noise while stopped. Dealer couldn't diagnose it. I thought it was the Dual Mass Flywheel but was wrong. Transmission fluid is fine. Any suggestions would help.

Did u still answer here man? i have the same problem with mk6 gti dsg transmision when i put on D or R the transmisions make a sound like "is scratching with something" then i have to wait the transmision put the right gear to star move, cus if accelerate the transmision hits depends about the rpm. I hope get some answer, have a good day man!

I have Passat B8 2.0tdi Dsg 6 speed wet clutch… it is last german car i a buying. I have done 114k miles. All the saving on fuel are going on repairs. DMF gone £1,440 inc vat to change it. Constant fluid change almost 300 a pop. B8 notorious of rear shocks leak at 100k plus. Had to change them both another 300… the Roughness of the gears is fuking ridiculous, suspensions is too stiff, has this passat creaking front suspension noise going over speed bumps on slow or even slight bumps, noisy panaromaic roof when closed. And now started to make some weird noise on start when goes away after warmup, probably another 700 in a shitter. Just stay away from german crap mobiles and especially dsg
