Good day, can i give my experience regarding to your question. im using the same pre-treatment cube and heatpress for curing the pre-treatment. For Dark Shirts, the temperatur that i use is 180 degrees and 35 seconds then i add 5 seconds to make sure it is completely dry. For white shirt, as for now. im using the same menthod and the quality of the print is good. Im using 210 gsm shirt. To gain the thickness of print using Graphic Lab software try the to make the Highlight 7 and Mask 3.

Try to print on t-shirt with more cotton. If you're having fibers issue then try use lint roller, use more pretreatment, use higher heatpress pressure, don't touch/scratch after pretreated, and lastly don't leave too long before you print. Hope that helps.

Hello.. Thanks for the information you provide I just bought a Brother printer and have a question about pretreatment. I am using Brother pre-treatment. I printed on a white T-shirt without treatment, but the colors started to fade with the first wash. Do I use the same type of pre-treatment for colored and white T-shirts? The other question is, is it possible to pre-treat the T-shirts and print them at another time, after a few days? How long can I keep without printing after pre-treatment?
@amedionteo
@amedionteo Год назад
Yes it will fade. How fast depends on the fabric. You will need light pretreatment. The dark pretreatment solely for printing white inks. Or if u want good washability then print like normal. Apply dark pretreatment and print white ink on white tees. Yes u can pretreat and keep it for months. I suggest no more than 3 months. Heatpress for at least 5seconds before print. Also use lint roller to clean any dust.

Thanks for your answer, I am testing again, I do 10 second press at 180° to flatten fiber then pretreat around 30g of pretreatment then cure for 35s and cure and cure again around 10s till dry then print and hoover 45s(it helps a lot for vibrancy to stay) and press 90s..So far no square box on shirts.. Do you know how many grams approx of pretreat you use on shirts with your pretreat machine on 30cmx40cm design area(wich sounds to be a standard way to mesure pretreat on the web)? Thanks again for your time answering questions..I hope business is going well for you...Where I live everything is slowed down nd business down for everybody selling fashion clothes.. Best regards, Lilian
@amedionteo
@amedionteo 3 года назад
Different fabric requires different drying time. I cure at 180c 60s on my Gildan Premium Cotton. IF you want vibrancy then you need a dryer instead of heat press. If you don't have a dryer then you may hover first then only press for lesser time & pressure. I'm not sure how many grams cause i don't weigh them. I just use The Cube pretreatment machine with the speed knob. Hope that helps. Yes everywhere is slow and this year DTG is growing very well. Keep it up!

Do you know what happen if spray too much pretreatment?
@amedionteo
@amedionteo 10 месяцев назад
Spraying too much pretreatment will have square stain on colored tee and will become yellowish on lighter tee. Also your ink wont sit firmly on the fabric thus having bad washability. You will also get crystalization.

I seem to have cristalization problem, i need at least H:8 M:3-4 to make white look good, if I add more water it would be better? You say hovering helps with crystalizations, you mean after pretreat before actual print? For how long would you hover in this case? Or should I do multiple presses like 3x20? Not sure what else could it be
@amedionteo
@amedionteo Год назад
Does the crystalization problem go away after curing? If not then u have to add more water. By adding more water to the pretreatment then u have to spray more or add more ink to get solid white. you can do hovering or multiple presses as long as the PT dries. doesn't have to be 35s or 60s. You can even hang dry.
@skepticalmonkey7263

What mask and highlight are you using? I find that I have to vary it quite a bit depending on the print. For many color prints, I use highlight 4, mask 1. But if the print has large white areas, I sometimes have to use much higher to get a good opaque white (as much as highlight 9, mask 3). Prints that have some of both are pretty challenging. I have considered breaking them into two separate prints so that I could use different settings, but time consuming to print.
@amedionteo

I always use the default settings which is H5M3. Sometimes just up a little bit for hoodie/polo shirt at H6M3. Never go above H7. We tweak our pretreatment.
