K.OT testet the brand new Ducati Monster 1200 R at the Ascari Racetrack in the south of spain. It is the most powerful Monster EVER with 160Hp and 131,4 Nm torque.
I bought a 2016 1200R last year, and hardly used it as I have other bikes, but when I want the adrenaline rush, I take it out of town... it is a lean, mean machine, love it.
+Alan Luangrath Thanks!! But as I'm an honest person: It's a mix of me riding and the Ducati's own testrider. I was still faster than the other journalists in my group though. :-) greets K.OT
Great crappy English.👍. I’m from uk and I spent 12 wonderful years working in Germany 🇩🇪/ I still miss it. Great country great people. Enjoyed your video 👍👍🇩🇪🇬🇧
Really good pronunciation. I'm from Colombia and I understand everything. just one question, recently I have a Monster S2R 2006. I really like a comparison and see the evolution through this years. Thanks to all German team.
great vid, what bike u would choose for ; good weather,Sunday blast , twisty , fun road ride between these 4; bmws1000r,ktm1290 superduke r , tuono 1100factory and ducati 1200r?thanks ; ) btw ur beard is spot on! and dont u worry about ur English ,only place where they speak it properly is BBC 1 ; )
Great video and a great bike. I got a Monster 1200 S Stripe last year and I now wish I would have waited a year to get this bike. Don't get me wrong, I do love my 1200 S, but I know I would have just that much more fun on the R. By the way your English is just fine and the beard is way to cool. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
Now I know why Ducati keep jacking up the height of Monsters and Hypermotards. Great for giraffes to get extra lean angles to avoid scraping things but not good for shorties like me(5'8".) Possible to lower bike to get feet to touch the ground, sacrificing some lean angle.
+Marius Gavrilă : agreed... especially the Tuono V4 1100 Factory, as the SuperDuke is quite a different riding position! Brutale, bwah... the 800 or the 1090?? I'd rather see a triple-threat test between M1200R, Tuono Factory and S1000R then!
+MAD MIKE Unfortunately it wasn't me at the Super Duke Presentation, some other guys said it was much more brutal, but also harder to ride. I'd say the same, since I tried the KTM on other tracks. Next year we'll do a head-to-head test. greets K.OT
DUCATI SCREWED ME! I purchased a brand new Monster 1200S from Ducati/Hudson Valley Motors NY which was unexpectedly defective from the manufacturer. It would shift into neutral unexpectedly even when shifting up from 3rd or 4th. Could not shift into Neutral from a dead stop. I notified them, but was told the bike needed a break in period to the first fluid change and I was unfamiliar with Ducati. So I rode it wearily for 700 mile, had the oil changed and still nothing changed. Ducati kept the bike 4 times, but each time they said it was fixed, it wasn't. Finally, they agreed to repurchase the bike as unrepairable. But for pointing out the flaw, they penalized me by charging me for "damages" which even the service department had not reported all the times I brought it to be fixed only refunding me half of what I paid for their defective bike. DUCATI HAS NO INTEGRITY. IRRATIONAL PRIDE DOES NOT MAKE UP FOR MANUFACTURING INCOMPETENCE. I deserved to have a new bike and it was not my fault the bike was defective from the manufacturer!
